Chapter 83: Itâs Just Stir-frying, Whatâs the Problem?
Chi Yuheng turned off the stove and plated the dish.
Ye Ran was still sleeping upstairs. Chi Yuheng estimated that he should be waking up in a while.
The little young master was hard to serve. Before leaving the house this morning, he said he wanted to eat Braised Pork Ribsâan extremely simple dish, yet several servants couldn’t make it.
It wasn’t that no one had made it before, but none suited Ye Ran’s taste.
Logically, such a home-cooked dish couldn’t be made in a thousand different ways; the servants didn’t know what kind of flavor was the one Ye Ran wanted.
In the end, Chi Yuheng had to cook. Using the same ingredients and the same pot, Ye Ran finished two bowls of rice.
Later, the servants understood. It wasn’t that they were doing it wrong; it was simply that the person cooking was wrong, so the taste produced was also wrong.
So, whenever Ye Ran said he wanted to eat Braised Pork Ribs, the servants directly sent a distress signal to the Eldest Young Master.
Chi Yuheng made it skillfully too. When they lived in the old residence together, he wasn’t very good at cooking and only knew how to make this one dish. He had made it for Ye Ran quite often; it belonged to the category of “practice makes perfect.”
It was originally a very good loving dinner, but Chi Youchu just had to call in at this time, ruining the atmosphere.
Furthermore, he didn’t even know what Chi Youchu wanted before the kid hung up.
He was just stir-frying a dish; what was the problem?
…
A few strands of orange-red sunset leaked through the gap in the curtains, dyeing the bedroom with a warm glow, yet it didn’t dispel the confusion when Ye Ran woke up.
He moved his fingertips, touching the soft silk sheets beneath him. “So smooth, how is this water so smooth…”
“Hiss…”
The headache after being drunk surged up. Ye Ran supported his forehead and sat up.
He didn’t hear the sound of water when he got up.
He remembered he was taking a bath in the bathroom; why would there be no sound of water?
He suddenly opened his eyes. Where he was wasn’t the bathroom at all, but Chi Yuheng’s bed!
Ye Ran kept brainwashing himself: It’s no big deal. It’s not the first time he’s slept in Chi Yuheng’s bed.
The two of them had been sleeping together from before they went to the island until they were on the island. When he woke up in the morning, he didn’t know how many times he had been hit by the direct assault of Chi Yuheng’s good looks.
At this moment, Chi Yuheng wasn’t in the room; he could roll around on this bed however he wantedâit was simply too good.
Ye Ran’s thoughts were very beautiful, but at the moment the quilt slid down, his gaze suddenly froze on his collarbone.
On that patch of fair skin, several light pink marks were clearly imprinted, their shapes ambiguous…
Ye Ran, whose memory was a complete blank about what happened afterward, felt his brain go “boom” just by looking at the marks.
He had been “done” by Chi Yuheng again?!
This realization made his hair stand on end instantly.
He jumped off the bed, stumbling into the bathroom and to the mirror in front of the sink.
Besides the mark on his collarbone, there was a fainter mark on the side of his neck, as if it had been lightly bitten.
He raised his hand to cover his neck, gritted his teeth, and called out that person’s name through the gaps of his teeth, “Chi. Yu. Heng!”
…
Chi Yuheng finished plating the dish. “Take it out.”
The servant nodded and carried the dish out.
Xin Yu came in from outside. At this moment, Chi Yuheng finally had some free time.
From the moment he carried Ye Ran home, the two had stayed in the bedroom for an entire day; it wasn’t until evening that Chi Yuheng came out.
Xin Yu was anxious, and the bar manager was even more frantic, fearing his job wouldn’t be saved and not daring to explain to Chi Yuheng directly, so he could only message Xin Yu over and over.
“Do you have time now?” Xin Yu asked tentatively.
Who knew if his boss would go back upstairs and stay until the next morning as soon as he was in a good mood?
Chi Yuheng looked over with a bit of nonchalance. “Is something the matter?”
Xin Yu didn’t beat around the bush. “The inspection results for the bar…”
Before he could finish, Chi Yuheng’s gaze suddenly darkened. “Twenty male models for free. Is that how he manages the bar?”
Xin Yu didn’t dare to defend the manager; after all, it was the manager who had said the wrong table number first and then so unfortunately sent them to Ye Ran’s table.
Even Ye Ran couldn’t escape it; it was even harder for Xin Yu to save them.
The result this time was a failure; everything would follow the processâinternal personnel rectification and transfer.
The bar matter was a minor one. Since Xin Yu was here, Chi Yuheng took the opportunity to tell him to urge the project team to speed up their progress tomorrow, striving to show the plan for Land No. 096 to Ye Ran as soon as possible.
The two were speaking when they suddenly heard the sound of “thud thud thud” coming downstairs.
Next was Ye Ran calling his name through gritted teeth, “Chi Yuheng!”
After calling a few times and not seeing him, he stopped calling and simply asked Uncle Lin directly, “Uncle Lin, where’s Chi Yuheng? I have something to settle with him.”
Uncle Lin looked at Ye Ran’s stance. It didn’t look like he had something to settle with the Eldest Young Master; it looked like he was going to bite someone.
However, no matter how much Young Master Ye’s hair stood on end, the Eldest Young Master always had a way to solve it. In this regard, Uncle Lin had considerable confidence in his Eldest Young Master.
Thus, Uncle Lin pointed the way for Ye Ran’s “husband-hunting” path.
“The Eldest Young Master is in the kitchen.”
Ye Ran didn’t pause and charged straight into the kitchen.
Finally seeing Chi Yuheng, he went up and said directly, “Chi Yuheng, you’re a damn dog! You even bit my neck!”
The somewhat awkward Xin Yu standing to the side: “…”
He just hadn’t had time to leave when he saw Ye Ran rushing in excitedly, pointing at such an obvious mark on his neck and starting with such an explosive sentence.
Things he shouldn’t see and things he shouldn’t hear were all gathered at once for Xin Yu.
Xin Yu was trembling with fear, afraid he would innocently follow the path of the bar manager.
He didn’t want to see it either; it was Ye Ran who forcibly pushed that image in front of his eyes.
At this moment, Xin Yu felt he shouldn’t be in the kitchen but under the car.
Xin Yu let out a light cough, and Ye Ran indeed got a shock. “Holy shit, why is there still a person here?”
Mainly it was a matter of angle; Xin Yu happened to be in Ye Ran’s blind spot when he came in.
Looking from outside the door, Ye Ran only saw Chi Yuheng alone and didn’t see Xin Yu at all.
This was so damn embarrassing.
Xin Yu seized all available time for an emergency retreat. Only Ye Ran and Chi Yuheng were left in the kitchen.
“Uh…” For a moment, Ye Ran actually forgot what he was going to say next.
In the end, it was Chi Yuheng who spoke calmly, “Hungry?”
Ye Ran nodded. “A bit.”
Chi Yuheng tilted his chin slightly. “Go out and talk while eating.”
In the dining room, the servants quickly retreated after serving the dishes, retreating as far as possible. They were very enlightened in this aspect to avoid hearing things they shouldn’t hear.
The Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes made by Chi Yuheng was placed right in front of Ye Ran.
Ye Ran was truly hungry. He didn’t even settle the score and focused on eating. Seeing him eating heartily, Chi Yuheng could only remind him slightly from the side, “What were you going to say when you were looking for me just now?”
When the brain sends a hunger signal and it happens to be satisfied at that time, one basically can’t remember anything else.
Ye Ran took a bite of rice and a bite of the dish, working hard on his meal. When Chi Yuheng spoke to him, he subconsciously repeated what he said, “Saying what?”
Helpless, Chi Yuheng had to remind him, “Your neck.”
