Chapter 85: Who Do You Want to Wake You Up?
September 1st, the day school started for Ye Ran.
In the early morning, the thing that woke him up still wasn’t the alarm clock, but Chi Yuheng’s manual wake-up call.
The bleary-eyed Ye Ran was stunned for a moment when he saw Chi Yuheng. “Why are you the one calling me to get up?”
Chi Yuheng’s still-smiling expression froze. “Who did you want to wake you up?”
The storm was about to arrive, dark clouds had already gathered, and a torrential rain was imminent.
Ye Ran: “Of course it should be me waking you up. I’m the one pursuing you now.”
Instantly, the dark clouds dispersed, and the sky became clear for ten thousand miles.
The corners of Chi Yuheng’s mouth curled up. “You wake me up? Look at what time it is; a certain someone is almost late themselves.”
Ye Ran suddenly remembered that school started today.
Young Master Ye’s life in school before exams basically consisted of idling around and skipping classes.
But today was differentânot only was it the first day of school, but it was also the first day he was pursuing Chi Yuheng. He couldn’t appear unenthusiastic about school and make his future “boyfriend” unhappy.
Thus, Ye Ran got up without much effort and went to wash up obediently.
While brushing his teeth, his eyes swept over Chi Yuheng’s toothbrush and cup to the side.
Then he looked at his ownâa simple style, and except for the white bristles, everything else was black.
Another black-and-white color scheme.
It made his Ultraman toothbrush look quite childish.
Regarding pursuing someone, Ye Ran felt that although he was doing it for the first time, he wasn’t so stupid as to have no awareness at all.
While brushing his teeth, he took out his phone to message Xin Yu. After typing the last character, he put down his phone with satisfaction and continued brushing with a smiling face.
Xin Yu, who received the message, froze in place.
He read the few words Ye Ran sent him repeatedly, confirming that Ye Ran had sent them to him and hadn’t made a mistake.
He was a bit doubtful; if he did as Ye Ran said, would Chi Yuheng be able to pass it?
On second thought, everyone knew how Chi Yuheng usually pampered Ye Ran; if he did as Ye Ran said, it might work.
Early in the morning, Uncle Lin had already arranged for people to make a bunch of delicious food.
Young Master Ye had morning grumpiness. It was better during the holidays since he could sleep until he woke up naturally, but school probably wouldn’t work, especially on the first day.
So he prepared the little young master’s favorite foods to appease his morning grumpiness at any time.
Even the servants were on high alert.
Uncle Lin looked at the pastries the servants prepared. “There are only strawberry cakes. Why are there no chocolate ones?”
The servant lowered her head. “The ingredients for the chocolate cake… yesterday was too hurried, and I forgot to prepare them…”
Dropping the ball at the critical moment. Uncle Lin was about to scold her a few times when Ye Ran happened to come downstairs.
“Good morning, Uncle Lin.”
Such a cheerful and sunny voice made Uncle Lin freeze. Was this the voice their morning-grumpy little young master made in the early morning?
Uncle Lin looked at Ye Ran blankly. “Good morning, Young Master Ye.”
He looked up at that bright smile. Did the sun rise from the west?
The little young master actually didn’t have morning grumpiness today, and he looked… quite good!
When Ye Ran was going to the dining room, his gaze swept over the small cakes on the plate and he asked, “Strawberry flavored?”
The servant nodded.
Ye Ran directly took the whole plate away. “I just like strawberry flavored small cakes.”
Uncle Lin: “???”
Could it be that he remembered wrongly? Didn’t Young Master Ye like chocolate flavored ones?
…
When he was almost at school, Ye Ran received a call from Xu Huiyang.
As a good friend, one must have the awareness to go to school and be late together. Xu Huiyang’s voice on the other end sounded like he had just gotten up.
Xu Huiyang: “I played games until 2 AM last night. I guess the two of us must be perfectly in sync.”
Ye Ran looked out the car window and said calmly, “I’m almost there.”
Xu Huiyang cried out in surprise, “What?!”
“You’re almost there? Did the sun rise from the west?”
Before Ye Ran could speak, Xu Huiyang hung up the phone at lightning speed. Without guessing, Ye Ran knew he must be whirlwind-cleaning his bird’s-nest hair and rushing to school.
Fifteen minutes later, Ye Ran saw Xu Huiyang’s figure at the school gate.
Just like the last time at the bar, as long as he wanted to, he could arrive at gale speed, leading Ye Ran to want to say only one thing: “I really suspect you came on a spaceship.”
Arriving at the same time as Xu Huiyang was Chi Youchu. Xu Huiyang pulled the person forward a bit. “I even brought an alien.”
The “alien” Chi Youchu: “…”
A few question marks popped up in Ye Ran’s head. Chi Youchu wasn’t in the same school as them, and his school started half a month later than theirs, so why would he appear here with Xu Huiyang?
His eyes shifted back and forth between the two. “You two… couldn’t be…?”
Xu Huiyang understood Ye Ran’s meaning in a second. “No, definitely not. It’s because the decoration company he found wasn’t very good. They said that style is basically a rough-cast, and it could be finished in half a month.”
“In the end, as soon as the deposit was paid, the decoration company went bankrupt.”
Ye Ran: “Even if it’s finished, you can’t move in immediately. Just find another decoration company then.”
Xu Huiyang: “He did look for a new one, but he didn’t expect the new decoration company to be opened by Pei Si’s family. As soon as Brother Si saw him, he had to give him a friend price.”
Ye Ran looked deeply at Chi Youchu. “To meet an acquaintance even like this, that’s great! A friend price means you must choose their company!”
Chi Youchu personally came forward to speak to Ye Ran. “The point is, have you ever seen a friend price that is free?”
“The decoration is free, the curtains are free, the appliances and furniture are all free. The human heart is too hot, I don’t dare touch it; the decoration is free, I don’t dare take it.”
Ye Ran narrowed his eyes and smiled. “So you went to Yangyang’s house to hide from Pei Si?”
Xu Huiyang chimed in, “To be precise, his family has been delaying the decoration, and his original house is uninhabitable as everything inside has been moved out. He’s temporarily staying at my place.”
One sentence led to another question from Ye Ran, “Why don’t you stay at your brother’s house?”
As soon as he said that, the two looked at him in unison, their gazes carrying profound meaning.
Ye Ran felt a bit uncomfortable being watched by them. “Is there a problem?”
Chi Youchu: “You two are ‘stir-frying’ at any time and any place; it’s too redundant for me to go.”
Ye Ran didn’t understand. “What fry? Frying what?”
“Frying dishes? Your brother’s Braised Pork Ribs from a few days ago were super delicious.”
So it really was just stir-frying!
Chi Youchu felt that ever since he knew Chi Yuheng and Ye Ran had a thing, his brain had been polluted by something yellow.
The three walked into the school, with Ye Ran in the middle and one on each side.
Both of them were very close to him; at first glance, it looked like Ye Ran was being supported by them.
Xu Huiyang asked gossipingly in a low voice, “How far have you two progressed? Have you kissed, hugged, and lifted high?”
Ye Ran spoke the truth, “He agreed to let me pursue him.”
As soon as the words fell, Chi Youchu immediately raised a question, “You said you want to pursue my brother?”
Ye Ran turned his head to look at him, the darkness in his pupils churning. The meaning was: Do you have an objection to me pursuing Chi Yuheng?
Chi Youchu had no objection. For the sake of them being brothers, Chi Youchu expressed support, but Chi Youchu expressed a lack of understanding.
“Does my brother even need to be pursued?”
