Chapter 96: Manual Education
After setting the backup command, Ye Ran even admired himself a little.
He looked at Xin Yu driving in the front. “I’m amazing, right? I made it rhyme again.”
Xin Yu simply admired Ye Ran’s courage.
He keeps provoking.
At this moment, Chi Yuheng’s face was no longer cold; it was black.
Scary black.
Xin Yu was intimidated just by looking through the rearview mirror. Ye Ran couldn’t see it at all.
Xin Yu gave a “Heh-heh” laugh, giving a friendly reminder, “Not only did you make it rhyme, you’re just a sesame seed’s width away from getting a beating.”
Ye Ran realized it belatedly. He slowly turned his head to look at Chi Yuheng.
For the next few seconds, Ye Ran’s state was: appearing to still be there, but in reality, his soul had already departed.
He gave a dry laugh. “I didn’t expect that, huh? I didn’t expect it either. It just somehow rhymed inexplicably. It was a complete coincidence…”
The corners of Chi Yuheng’s lips curled into a shallow arc, but there wasn’t a trace of warmth in the corners of his eyes. That smile was like it was wrapped in a layer of ice shards, making Ye Ran’s neck feel numb and a layer of chill instantly surge up his back.
“A coincidence?”
Xin Yu parked the car in front of a hotel they often visited, taking the opportunity to rescue Ye Ran. “Eldest Young Master, what are we eating? I’ll go down and get the takeout.”
Chi Yuheng’s gaze didn’t leave Ye Ran as he calmly listed the dishes. “Bamboo shoots stir-fried with meat, chili stir-fried with meat, braised pork…”
Hearing these dish names made Ye Ran’s heart tremble.
He was afraid Chi Yuheng would list the wrong dish and say “palms stir-fried with meat.”
Ye Ran interrupted in time, “It’s all meat; won’t it be too greasy? Let’s have some vegetable dishes.”
Xin Yu, being very understanding, added, “Young Master Ye is right. We must have a balance of meat and vegetables.”
Ye Ran: “…”
For the sake of his own butt and to coax Chi Yuheng, Ye Ran ended up changing the command.
He made it as sappy as possible, so much so that he gave himself goosebumps. Only then did a hint of delight finally appear on that hard-to-coax man’s face.
With this experience, Ye Ran finally understood how difficult Chi Yuheng could be to coax once he had the “boyfriend” status.
After eating dinner at home, Ye Ran “thud-thud-thud” ran upstairs and went straight to Chi Yuheng’s room.
Chi Yuheng curled his lips and followed him upstairs.
Ye Ran was used to showering first upon returning to his room. In the bathroom of Chi Yuheng’s room, everything Ye Ran needed for a shower had long been prepared.
Mainly because the little young master had been a frequent visitor lately, so the supplies were quite complete.
When Ye Ran came out of the bathroom, Chi Yuheng was already waiting for him.
He was holding something smaller than a palm and looking at it.
While Chi Yuheng looked, Ye Ran also leaned over to see. “What is this thing?”
Chi Yuheng was full of confusion. “Didn’t you buy this?”
Ye Ran blurted out, “How could I buy such a strange thing?”
But the more he looked at it, the more familiar it became.
His previous memories returned, and Ye Ran suddenly spoke up. “I remember now!”
“This is a small night light I bought from a boutique on the island.”
At that time, Ye Ran thought the night light was fun and bought it back, but it wasn’t favored and was casually tossed into the bedside table drawer by him.
Yesterday, he had Xin Yu move all his things to Chi Yuheng’s room. Xin Yu’s execution was strong, and the move was very thorough.
So this small night light had been transferred from Ye Ran’s bedside table to Chi Yuheng’s.
Ye Ran explained the function of the night light to Chi Yuheng. “Don’t look at it like it’s just a light; actually, it really is just a light.”
Chi Yuheng: “…”
Ye Ran: “But it also has another function. It can imitate people’s speech.”
“I’ll demonstrate it for you.” As he spoke, Ye Ran pressed the switch on the night light. “Chi Yuheng, you bastard…”
The small night light imitated his words quite convincingly: “Chi Yuheng, you bastard.”
Mm. Chi Yuheng had been scolded.
And he had been scolded twice in a very convincing and solemn manner.
Ye Ran raised an eyebrow with a smile. “How about it? Fun, right?”
One second he was grinning, and the next he was pinned down.
Chi Yuheng, not too heavily…
Ye Ran let out a “hiss.”
It didn’t really hurt, but it was just too embarrassing.
“Chi Yuheng!” Ye Ran struggled to climb up, but his waist was firmly held down by Chi Yuheng, making him unable to move.
Chi Yuheng’s voice carried a hint of laughter. “I heard you scolding your boyfriend too smoothly, so I’m providing some ‘manual education’ to correct you.”
Ye Ran quibbled, “I wasn’t scolding you; I was just demonstrating its function to you.”
Chi Yuheng: “So, is the demonstration over now?”
“Uh-huh.” Ye Ran nodded very seriously.
In the next second, he was successfully “greeted” twice more.
The tips of Ye Ran’s ears turned red as he wailed in protest, “Chi Yuheng! You’ve gone too far! I’ve already explained, so why are you still doing it?!”
Chi Yuheng chuckled lowly. “I’m not ‘doing’ anything; I’m just ‘adding color’ to the ‘dumpling.’ Don’t misunderstand me.”
Chi Yuheng had truly mastered the art of “using magic to defeat magic.”
Ye Ran cursed in his heart, a hundred percent unconvinced.
Just as he could no longer feel the warm temperature, his defiance instantly vanished. “Chi Yuheng, you bastard” changed to, “Brother, I was wrong…”
The small night light lay quietly on the bed, repeating Ye Ran’s sentence: “Brother, I was wrong.”
This sentence worked best.
The restraint vanished, and Ye Ran immediately scrambled up, covering his backside with both hands and glaring at Chi Yuheng. “You’re unreasonable! You only know how to use force! I’m running away from home!”
When Ye Ran got playful, it was easy for him to repeatedly test the limits of Chi Yuheng’s tolerance.
Chi Yuheng gritted his teeth. “Ye Ran, say that one more time.”
Ye Ran didn’t admit he was a coward. He immediately jumped off the bed and ran to the other side. “You tell me to say it and I’ll say it? Why should I be so obedient to you?”
“Good words aren’t spoken twice. If you didn’t hear it just now, that’s your loss!”
Chi Yuheng was actually angered into laughing by him. “Fine. You’d better not let me catch you.”
The night light—not knowing if its quality control was subpar or if they had spoken too much for it to keep up—became confused in its imitation, only able to repeatedly echo what had been said earlier.
“I’m running away from home. I’m running away from home. I’m running away from home…”
Saying this was no different from adding fuel to the fire.
Ye Ran was startled.
Holy shit! How did this thing break down at a time like this?!
What came next startled him even more.
Chi Yuheng simply took a long stride and propped himself on the bed with one hand. With just one step, he had jumped to this side of the bed.
In the past, Ye Ran had commented on Chi Yuheng’s height—standing at 1.9 meters with such long legs, he looked like a utility pole. What was the use?
Now, Ye Ran didn’t think that way anymore.
Long legs still had many benefits.
At the very least, they made it much more convenient for Chi Yuheng to catch him.
Translator’s Note:
They are officially dating! (๑>ᴗ<๑)
That “manual education” scene—in Chinese slang, “bamboo shoots stir-fried with meat” (竹筍炒肉) is a classic euphemism for a spanking. Chi Yuheng certainly knows how to keep his rebellious kitten in line!
Also, the cheeky rhyme Ye Ran used for the voice command is a parody of a popular song called “If I Were Young and Successful” (年少有為) by Li Ronghao. In the original song, the lyrics are about regret, but Ye Ran turned it into a boast about having a “harem” of husbands! No wonder Chi Yuheng’s face turned black!
And that poor night light… it really picked the worst possible time to start looping. Do you think Ye Ran actually managed to run away? (Spoiler: Probably not very far!)
See you in the next update! ♡
