Are You Kidding Me! After Three Years as a Stand-in, You Say I’m the White Moonlight? Chapter 12

Chapter 12: With Me Here, No One Can Snatch It Away

Throughout the entire process, Chen Wei was the active one.

It wasn’t that Zhou Sijin didn’t want to move.

It was that Chen Wei wouldn’t let him move at all.

The moment he showed any sign of wanting to reverse their roles, Chen Wei would quickly notice and pin him back down firmly.

In truth, for Zhou Sijin, the strength Chen Wei used was nothing.

But he was willing to pamper Chen Wei, letting him act as he pleased on his body.

Looking at Chen Wei like this, Zhou Sijin wasn’t unhappy; instead, his heart felt a sense of fulfillment that had replaced something else he couldn’t quite name.

Once the latter half of the night passed, Chen Wei was completely exhausted.

Zhou Sijin carried him to the bathroom to wash up.

Weak and powerless, Chen Wei looped one arm around his neck and used the other to grip his jaw, forcing him to look him in the eye.

Chen Wei asked, “Director Zhang’s movie.”

Chen Wei thought that if Zhou Sijin dared to say “no” to him, he would have the nerve to crush the man’s jaw.

Zhou Sijin hadn’t expected that even at a time like this, Chen Wei would still be thinking about the movie.

It seemed he really did want to act in a movie produced by Zhang Quan.

Zhou Sijin gave a satisfied smile: “I’m a man of my word.”

Chen Wei finally let go of him with a sigh of relief.

He said, “Take me there tomorrow.”

Zhou Sijin’s footsteps paused. “Tomorrow?”

Chen Wei nodded.

“What’s the rush?” Zhou Sijin comforted him, saying, “What is yours will always be yours. With me here, no one can snatch it away. Rest assured.”

Chen Wei lay in his arms and didn’t respond.

He wasn’t in a rush because he was afraid of someone stealing the role; rather, it was because he didn’t know when he would leave Zhou Sijin.

He wanted to successfully finish filming the movie at least before he departed.

That way, he wouldn’t leave any regrets in his acting career.

The next day, Chen Wei was awakened by a phone call from Han Chi.

When he woke up, Zhou Sijin’s figure was nowhere to be seen in the room.

Chen Wei knew he probably wouldn’t see Zhang Quan today.

But it didn’t matter; he hadn’t really expected Zhou Sijin to take him to see the man today anyway. He had said that last night intentionally just to remind Zhou Sijin to keep his matter in mind.

Once the call connected, Han Chi first asked where he was.

Through the phone, Chen Wei answered with his eyes closed, “Zhou Sijin asked me to accompany him last night.”

There was a brief moment of silence on the other end before Han Chi dared to lower his voice and speak softly:

“Xin Xing is in trouble. Do you know?”

Chen Wei opened his eyes slowly and replied unhurriedly, “I know.”

“You know?” Han Chi’s tone was slightly startled. “Could it be you…?”

Saying this, he let out a soft hiss. “Could it be that this is why Zhou Sijin called you over to accompany him last night?”

“It wasn’t me,” Chen Wei interrupted him plainly.

He knew Han Chi had misunderstood, thinking he had used last night to ask Zhou Sijin to deal with Xin Xing.

He explained with a light sigh, “He was caught secretly climbing into Zhou Sijin’s bed.”

“What?!” Han Chi’s reaction was as if he had heard the explosive news of the century.

He asked back in shock, “Xin Xing climbed into Zhou Sijin’s bed?”

“Yeah,” Chen Wei replied softly.

In truth, when he saw Xin Xing in the photo Zhou Sijin sent last night, he knew Xin Xing was truly finished this time.

Zhou Sijin was a man with a very severe case of germaphobia; he didn’t like others touching his things without his permission.

So, stripping naked and climbing straight into his bed basically counted as touching Zhou Sijin’s landmine.

And people who provoked Zhou Sijin usually didn’t have a good ending.

Chen Wei didn’t feel much about Xin Xing climbing into Zhou Sijin’s bed, nor did he find it shameful for Xin Xing to do such a thing.

After all, just like Xin Xing and those people outside, Chen Wei categorized himself and them as one and the same—people who wanted to climb into Zhou Sijin’s bed.

However, he had a bit more planning and the blessing of good luck than Xin Xing, so he had very successfully pulled it off with “dog shit luck.”

Chen Wei suddenly remembered the time before he and Zhou Sijin had established a bed-partner relationship.

That was the first time Chen Wei had gone to such great lengths to investigate a person’s interests, hobbies, and temperament.

To sleep with Zhou Sijin, Chen Wei had made many preparations.

But he never once entertained the thought of stripping naked and climbing directly into Zhou Sijin’s bed.

He would manufacture ten or even a hundred “accidental” encounters, but it was only to make Zhou Sijin remember his face—nothing more.

And one person becoming interested in another is the prerequisite for the start of any story.

Unlike Xin Xing, he was able to smoothly climb into Zhou Sijin’s bed because he had Zhou Sijin’s tacit permission.

As clever as Zhou Sijin was, it was impossible for him not to see that Chen Wei’s intentional approach carried an agenda.

But Zhou Sijin still gave him the chance to climb into his bed.

Chen Wei knew that Zhou Sijin must have made many guesses about the reason he climbed into his bed.

But Zhou Sijin would never guess that the most primitive purpose of him climbing into his bed was simply that he wanted to sleep with him.

Precisely because Zhou Sijin had miscalculated, he was able to stay by Zhou Sijin’s side for so long.

Zhou Sijin was curiously waiting for him to expose his true colors.

But Zhou Sijin didn’t know that his true colors had already been completely exposed from the moment he slept with him.

On the other end of the phone, Han Chi still couldn’t quite believe it, but some things couldn’t be explained clearly over the phone.

Han Chi asked for the hotel address and said he would come to pick him up later.

After hanging up, Chen Wei also planned to get up and wash.

Having the previous experience as a lesson, before dressing, he specifically walked to the mirror and checked his entire body.

After confirming there were no extra marks on his body, he dared to turn around and pick up the clothes he had casually thrown on the floor last night to put them on.

Clothes were scattered all over the floor in a mess; Chen Wei glanced over them one by one.

Before Zhou Sijin left, he hadn’t even bothered to help him pick up these clothes.

Then again.

Zhou Sijin had always been the one served; how could he have the habit of serving others?

Chen Wei stopped letting his thoughts wander. After dressing neatly, he went into the bathroom.

Fortunately, Han Chi arrived very quickly.

As soon as Chen Wei got in the car, Han Chi handed him a paper bag.

Chen Wei took it.

He didn’t need to open it to know it was something Han Chi had prepared for him to pad his stomach.

Zhou Sijin was a busy man; often after a night of pleasure, he would definitely disappear the next morning without even saying a word.

Chen Wei had long since grown used to this.

After all, to Zhou Sijin, he was just a bed partner; he wasn’t worthy of Zhou Sijin going to great lengths to treat or please.

Chen Wei was an actor; to look good on camera, he often had to control his appetite and maintain his figure.

So, this kind of thing didn’t feel like much to him, since he was used to being hungry.

But that one time was an exception.

Translator’s Note:

  • Dog shit luck (狗屎運 – Gǒushǐ yùn): A common Chinese slang term for “dumb luck” or “extremely good luck.”
  • “What is yours will always be yours”: Zhou Sijin is being very domineering here. It’s the classic “Big Shot” energy.
