Chapter 120: Itâs Not Too Late to Let Go
Li Lan and Li Xuanyue were equally astonished.
Soon, both of them were frowning.
“Yue’er, you have truly disappointed your Fu jun.”
Following the voice, Hua Shanâs figure appeared before them.
It was as if he had anticipated this all along.
The surrounding woods, which had been silent, were suddenly illuminated by two rows of guards.
It seemed they had been lying in ambush for quite some time.
Without thinking, Li Xuanyue pulled Li Lan behind her.
Hua Shanâs gaze shifted from Li Xuanyue to Li Lan.
“I didn’t expect you to have such capability.”
The mockery in Hua Shanâs voice was a clear indictment of Li Lanâs overestimation of himself.
In the current Phoenix Clan, Hua Shan could truly be described as “covering the sky with one hand.”
The reason he hadn’t acted from the start was because he wanted to see how much of a storm they could stir without his interference.

This was the daughter he had raised for hundreds of years.
It would be a lie to say Hua Shan wasn’t disappointed.
His fatherly love for Li Xuanyue had always been sincere.

He issued a low rebuke.
This was the first time he had ever used such a harsh tone with Li Xuanyue.
“The matters between your father and me are not something you can just tell us to ‘let go’ of.”
“If you don’t wish to continue opposing me, then leave this place immediately.”
Hua Shan spoke with measured intensity. “I can pretend none of this happened.”
“But if you insist on being stubborn, then do not blame me for being unkind.”
The threat in his voice was palpable.
He had no intention of letting go just because Li Xuanyue had intervened.
On the contrary, he truly wanted to tear Li Lanâthe one who dared to plot under his noseâinto ten thousand pieces.
Even standing behind Li Xuanyue, Li Lan could feel the overwhelming killing intent radiating from Hua Shan.
He showed no fear. Instead, he stepped out from behind her and pulled her to the side.
“Huang jie, you should go back,” he said calmly.
They wouldn’t be able to escape now anyway.
Looking at Hua Shanâs determined posture, it was clear he had people stationed everywhere.
In the past, Li Lan had stayed hidden within the Phoenix Clan because he didn’t want to draw attention.
Now that things were out in the open, he was ready to cast off his reputation as a coward.
Since Hua Shan didn’t want him to take Hua Sang, he would do the opposite.
No matter the outcome, he wouldn’t let the man have his way so easily.
Li Xuanyue looked at his expressionâone that suggested he was ready for a fight to the deathâand couldn’t help but pour cold water on him.
“What do you plan to do?” she asked coldly. “Do you think I have a way out at this point?”
Since she had dared to go behind Hua Shanâs back to release them, she had already embraced a “success or death” mentality.
From the moment she learned of everything Hua Sang had suffered through her dreams, she could not sit by and watch.
In the end, Hua Sang was her father by blood.
She could not allow him to continue suffering.
Hua Shan saw that Li Xuanyue was refusing to listen to reason and was incensed.
He took a deep breath to suppress the rising fury in his chest.
“Yue’er, I will say this one last time.”
His face was no longer calm. His dark eyes were like a deep abyss, staring fixedly at her and Li Lan. His voice was laced with frost.
“Go back. Do you hear me? This is my final warning.”
This time, his tone was not a negotiation, but a command.
Her repeated defiance and opposition were, in his eyes, a constant trampling of his bottom line.
He would not allow it.
Li Xuanyue naturally felt Hua Shanâs patience reaching its limit.
He could order the guards to attack at any moment.
Yet, she would not yield.
“And if I refuse?”
Li Xuanyueâs clear gaze met Hua Shanâs, filled with an unyielding resistance.
She was grateful for the kindness he had shown her over the centuries.
But she could not be as cold-blooded as he was.
“Fu jun, while the Mu huang hasn’t arrived yet, there is still time. If she arrives, everything will be too late.”
Li Xuanyue never fought a battle she wasn’t prepared for.
Though many paths had shifted since her rebirth, she was much more cautious than she had been in her previous life.
From the moment she decided to help Li Lan and Hua Sang escape, she had sent Yin Xin to notify Li Feng.
She knew Hua Shan wouldn’t let them go easily.
The only person who could stop all of this was Li Feng.
She was right to call for her.
