Part 2
Ye Qingyu mouthed the words to Jiang Chenyan. At the same time, she leaned out from the side of the crate and fired two shots toward the other side of the corridor, creating the illusion of a breakout.
Many people took the bait. Half the firepower turned toward the direction Ye Qingyu had fired. Their attention was diverted.
Jiang Chenyan took the opportunity to keep his body low, moving quickly against the wall. He used the scattered clutter and shadows in the corridor as cover, circling around in the opposite direction from Ye Qingyu.
Seeing this, Ye Qingyu continued to use herself to draw the fire.
In just over ten seconds, under their seamless cooperation, Jiang Chenyan successfully circled to the stairwell on the other side of the corridor.
He climbed quickly, using the railing for cover. He appeared silently at the entrance of the corridor behind Walter, only ten meters from his target.
The moment Jiang Chenyanâs figure appeared at the end of the corridor, the two black-clad men closest to him noticed something was off. They spun around: “Whoâ?!”
Too late.
Jiang Chenyanâs laser gun was already aimed at one manâs brow. He pulled the trigger without hesitation. the laser beam pierced the skull, and the man didn’t even manage a scream before he collapsed.
The other manâs pupils shrank. Just as he was about to fire back, Jiang Chenyan flicked his wrist, shifting the muzzle. Another headshot.
Warm blood sprayed onto his combat suit. He didn’t dare stop, closing the distance to Walter rapidly.
Walter looked back, just in time to see his third subordinate fall. Jiang Chenyanâs gun was pointed right at him.
He instinctively drew his handgun. The muzzle was instantly aligned with Jiang Chenyanâs laser gun, the two barrels less than half a meter apart.
“Heh.” Walter raised an eyebrow and let out a light scoff, gloom churning in his eyes. “You want to kill me?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Jiang Chenyanâs voice was as flat as a still pool. His finger was steady on the trigger, not missing a single tiny movement from the other man.
“Then Iâm truly heartbroken.” Walterâs lips curved into an arc, his gaze suddenly becoming sharp.
Almost at the exact moment Walterâs finger applied force, Jiang Chenyan predicted the other’s intent. He pulled the trigger of his laser gun first.
The laser beam flew past Walterâs ear. Walterâs expression changed as he rolled to the side, narrowly dodging the fatal blow. His back hit the railing hard.
Jiang Chenyan took advantage of the opening to fire again. This time, the laser beam precisely hit Walterâs wrist. the gun slipped from his hand and fell to the floor.
The pain made Walterâs face contort. The gloom in his eyes churned to the extreme as he released a thick Alpha pheromone.
He tried to use the Alpha pheromone to suppress this insolent Omega, forcing Jiang Chenyan into a heat to dismantle his resistance.
The Alpha pheromone in the air grew thicker and thicker, so viscous it was suffocating. But Jiang Chenyan only frowned. His stomach churned, but beyond nausea, there was no other reaction. The gun remained steady as it aimed at Walter.
Walter couldn’t believe it. “How is this possible? Youâre clearly an Omega.” Why was there no heat? Why no kneeling and begging for mercy?
“Your pheromone level is too low. You aren’t qualified to affect me.” These words were like a stab to the heart. Walter was so angry he almost passed out.
Jiang Chenyanâs finger tightened on the trigger. Just as he was about to aim at Walterâs brow for the finishing blow, a hurried shout came: “Jiang Chenyan!”
A figure came charging over. It was Mo Qingyu.
Jiang Chenyan frowned. Why now of all times?
His finger trembled instinctively. The laser beam missed its mark, slamming into Walterâs thigh. Walter groaned as cold sweat soaked his forehead. His thigh bone was practically shattered. He swayed, unable to support his body.
Below, Ye Qingyu had been fighting several men alone and was already exhausted. Her arm was grazed, and her face was as pale as paper. she leaned against the wall, panting heavily.
Seeing this, Jiang Chenyan took a step forward, pressing the laser gun hard against Walterâs forehead. He shouted coldly, “Everyone drop your weapons! If anyone moves, he dies right here!”
The remaining men looked at each other. Seeing the hostage Walter, they didn’t dare move for a moment, frozen in place.
Ye Qingyu caught her breath. She held onto the stair railing and walked up step by step. As she passed Mo Qingyu, she only gave him a cold look. Without a word, she stood silently at Jiang Chenyanâs side.
Walter slid down against the wall to a half-kneeling position. Blood from his thigh flowed down his pant leg in a stream. He looked pathetic. He stared fixedly at Jiang Chenyan. He had actually fallen at the hands of an Omega. It was a pure humiliation.
“Weâre going out. If any of you dare stop us, suffer the consequences.” As he spoke, Jiang Chenyan pressed the gun against Walterâs forehead even harder. Shen Shiyue should have already broken through the perimeter and would be waiting for him outside.
Mo Qingyu felt inexplicably uncomfortable. He took a step forward. “I know the route. Iâll lead you out.”
Walter, who was on the verge of fainting, looked up sharply. He stared fixedly at Mo Qingyu, his eyes bloodshot. “Even you are going to betray me, Mo Qingyu?”
“I…” Mo Qingyu lowered his eyes, his voice heavy. His fingers were clenched white.
He didn’t know what to do anymore.
“Letâs go.” Mo Qingyu took a deep breath, suppressing his roiling emotions. He took the lead.
Jiang Chenyan leaned down and grabbed Walter by the collar, hauling him up. Walter groaned in pain from his leg, struggling, but he was held firmly by Jiang Chenyan, unable to move.
The only sounds along the way were their footsteps and Walterâs low gasps. In the silence, Mo Qingyu suddenly spoke, his voice as light as a night breeze: “Iâm sorry, Jiang Chenyan.”
Jiang Chenyanâs gaze was indifferent. His fingers were still clamped onto Walter. He asked flatly, “Why say that?”
Mo Qingyuâs Adamâs apple bobbed. In the end, he didn’t say another word, but his footsteps became a bit heavier.
He had slipped up before, exposing Jiang Chenyanâs Omega identity to Walter.
He had been selfish, fantasizing that Jiang Chenyan would stay with him in the LE Organization.
He had been horribly wrong, hurting Jiang Chenyan and himself.
Mo Qingyu wanted to tell Jiang Chenyan that when he heard the news within the organization that he was still alive, he felt relief, excitement, and a sense of being lost…
The night was thick. The ground was full of craters and rubble from the explosions, making their steps stumble. Jiang Chenyan had been dragging Walter for a long time. His arm was sore and numb, and his knuckles were white.
Ye Qingyuâs eyes shifted. She said deeply, “Let me drag him.”
Jiang Chenyan tossed the man over without ceremony. Ye Qingyu caught him.
“So heavy.”
Walter: “…”
Suddenly, a corner of the sky lit up. A piercing light broke through the dark gloom.
A black mecha hovered in mid-air. A beam of light landed precisely on them. the night wind swirled with fine dust, blowing Jiang Chenyanâs soft hair.
Jiang Chenyan let out a sigh of relief when he saw the mechaâs markings.
He was here.
The mecha slowly descended. When the heavy hull touched the ground, it shook up fine stone chips. the hatch opened.
Shen Shiyue stepped out. His black martial outfit clung to his frame, his broad shoulders and narrow waist full of tension. His black hair was swept against his temples by the wind, and his eyes were deep and cold.
His target was clear. He walked toward Jiang Chenyan step by step.
He strode to his loverâs side.
Shen Shiyue reached out with a long arm, pulling Jiang Chenyan into his embrace. His well-defined fingers pressed against the back of Jiang Chenyanâs neck, the force so heavy it was as if he wanted to rub the man into his very blood and bone.
His jaw rested against the top of Jiang Chenyanâs head, his voice muffled. “Iâm late.”
Jiang Chenyanâs shoulders trembled slightly. He raised his arms to wrap them around Shen Shiyueâs waist, pressing his cheek against Shen Shiyueâs warm neck, sniffing the faint pheromone emanating from the other. “Not late at all.”
Ye Qingyu stood there, her gaze fixed and her mouth slightly agape. For a long time, she couldn’t say a word.
She had guessed their relationship might be unusual, but she hadn’t expected it to be this unusual.
“Do you two not care about being seen?”
Kai Lan stumbled down from the other side, not forgetting to tease them.
The black mask covered most of his face, leaving only his eyes.
His gaze lingered on Mo Qingyu for half a second. Old acquaintance.
Shen Shiyue slowly released the man in his arms. “Iâll settle the score with you in a bit.”
Jiang Chenyan took half a step back. “Are you sick? What score are you settling with me?”
Shen Shiyueâs Adamâs apple bobbed. He was momentarily speechless. “…”
Kai Lan pointed at Walter. “What about him? Kill him now, or kill him in a bit?”
Ye Qingyu found it funny. “Little brother, is there a difference?” She believed in a quick death being a blessing; it was better to settle it now.
Walterâs entire body was tense, his face dark. He was actually being discussed like a clown by a group of weak Omegas.
How could this be?! How could this be?!
He stared fixedly at Shen Shiyue, gritting his teeth: “Shen Shiyue, youâre actually hooking up with a bunch of Omegas! And to think youâre from the Alliance Headquarters! Do you know what Jiang Chenyan is thinking? Heâs definitely going to cooperate with that bitch Ye Qingyu later to become an enemy of the Alliance…”
The more Walter spoke, the more agitated he became, his face contorting.
Shen Shiyueâs eyes were dark. He didn’t offer a single word of defense. He walked forward with heavy steps, silently standing in front of Jiang Chenyan. His attitude couldn’t be clearer. Walter was on the verge of a breakdown.
Ye Qingyu let out an impatient “tsk.” She kicked Walter in the chest with ruthless force. Walter groaned as he lost his balance and fell hard to the ground, rolling half a circle.
She leaned down, her fingers pinching Walterâs neck. Who are you calling a bitch? “Iâll kill him right now.”
