EO Romance: The Supreme Leader Is About to Enter the Crematorium Chapter 127

Chapter 127: Showing Off Affection

Ye Zhile had always remembered the promise to interview Ji Shuohan, but this goal was only realized after his internship ended and he had officially become a journalist.

Ji Shuohan was his first official interview subject. The team was ecstatic at the prospect of interviewing the Leader, and everyone arrived at the Leader’s Department with high spirits; just as Ye Zhile had been during his first visit, they were all awestruck by the sheer scale of the architecture.

Ye Zhile led them to the Leader’s office. Once Ji Shuohan opened the door, Ye Zhile narrowed his eyes and smiled. “Sorry to intrude~”

“No intrusion at all. Welcome.” Ji Shuohan stepped aside to let them in. After the team had taken a good look at the office, they began setting up their equipment.

Once everything was ready, the camera was mostly focused on the interviewee, while the journalist remained off-camera.

“Why don’t you guess what questions I’ll be asking, Leader?” Ye Zhile raised an eyebrow at him. He hadn’t shown Ji Shuohan any part of the script, not even the theme; Ji Shuohan hadn’t asked either—perhaps both of them wanted to maintain a sense of mystery.

“I don’t know, but I hope Journalist Ye will ask me some personal questions.” The look Ji Shuohan gave him was full of playfulness. “For example… questions about the relationship between me and my spouse.”

“…” Ye Zhile was momentarily speechless. He opened his mouth and said helplessly, “Let’s stick to official business first.”

“Very well,” Ji Shuohan said with a hint of regret.

The interaction between the two was so sweet that the staff members on the sidelines felt like they were fainting from the sugar. They weren’t here to work; they were here to be stuffed with dog food.

The official business involved discussing Ji Shuohan’s experiences on the battlefield at the age of eighteen. Ye Zhile asked the questions seriously, and Ji Shuohan answered just as seriously; it was like a casual conversation between two people at home.

Time passed quickly, and just as Ye Zhile was preparing to wrap up, Ji Shuohan suddenly spoke. “Journalist Ye hasn’t asked me any personal questions yet.”

“…” You just have to show off, don’t you?!

Ye Zhile sat back down and smiled. “Then, may I ask if the Leader has any confusion regarding his romantic life?”

“You should ask who my spouse is,” Ji Shuohan instructed him.

Ye Zhile’s eyes curved. “Then who is the Leader’s spouse?”

Ji Shuohan looked directly into the camera. “My spouse is Ye Zhile—the journalist currently standing before me.”

Ye Zhile kept smiling, but a deep crimson flushed his face. “Then, is the ring on your hand a pair with the one your spouse wears?”

“It is a pair. We also have a son. His formal name is Ye Yunchu, and his nickname is Dudu. My spouse chose both names.” Ji Shuohan smiled faintly; afraid that Ye Zhile wouldn’t ask, he simply volunteered the answers himself.

The atmosphere was incredibly sweet, with the two seeing only each other. However, the staff members present were screaming internally: Mama! I’m here to work! Not to eat dog food! Stop it!

After the interview ended, Ye Zhile rose and gave a slight bow to the staff. “Thank you for your hard work. I’ll have the driver take you back first. Xiao Li, please send me the video later.”

“Understood, Spouse!”

Xiao Li, the photographer, spoke with such sudden reverence that it caused the group to burst into laughter. He quickly realized his slip-up. “No—I mean, understood, Journalist Ye!”

Ye Zhile smiled. Once everyone had left, he turned to Ji Shuohan; the latter looked innocent as he leaned in to kiss his lips. “What? Isn’t that what an interview is for? If you weren’t going to gossip, wasn’t it okay for me to provide the gossip myself?”

“Who wants to hear your gossip?” Ye Zhile frowned.

Ji Shuohan replied, “Plenty of people. When people have nothing to do, they love to gossip. Gossiping about a celebrity is the same as gossiping about the Leader; it’s all the same.”

“Is that so? You’re certainly open-minded, practically begging people to talk about you,” Ye Zhile remarked.

Ji Shuohan chuckled and leaned down to kiss him again.

Ji Shuohan had only ever sat for two solo interviews. The first was when he was eighteen and was required to discuss his achievements; back then, he thought it was cool, but later he found it cringeworthy and refused to ever do it again. The second was this one with Ye Zhile; after it was uploaded to various publications, it sparked heated discussions and dominated the headlines for an entire week.

#The Leader Shows Off His Love

[The first questions were answered so well, but when I saw the Leader asking for personal questions at the end, I was stunned. Then I saw the journalist’s byline and I understood…]

[It’s just… a massive show of affection…]

[So even the Leader can’t resist showing off his love…]

[And he’s doing it face-to-face with the Leader’s Spouse…]

[Don’t love each other too much, I swear. He never accepts interviews, but he only accepts one from his wife.]

[Leader: It is my honor to be interviewed by my wife.]

[‘My spouse’s name is Ye Zhile, who is the journalist currently standing before me’—I’m dead…]

[Who even asked who your spouse was! You attention seeker! (Leader, I’m just kidding…)]

[He even made his wife ask him personal questions. Tsk tsk, his intentions are so obvious. (Leader, I’m also just kidding…)]

[Dudu actually takes the Spouse’s surname? Wow!]

[Ye Yunchu… What a gentle name! The Spouse is so good at naming!]

[My CP is spreading dog food so hard that the whole world knows. Tsk tsk! I won’t say who’s proud of them!]

[It’s me!]

The New Year was approaching, and heavy snow was falling. The courtyard of the Leader’s Mansion was blanketed in white. Dudu, wrapped up tightly in his little winter clothes, was wearing small mittens and playing in the snow. He grabbed some snow and showed it to Xiao Ru. “Auntie, snow…”

“Auntie sees it~” Xiao Ru replied.

Dudu was now three years old, able to run, jump, and gradually start speaking. It was thought that with Ji Shuohan’s looks, he would be a cool, aloof little boy, but he turned out to be just as cute and well-behaved as he was when he was a baby. His personality was very similar to Ye Zhile’s.

“Dudu,” Ye Zhile called out from inside. “Let’s go, we’re going to Grandma’s house.”

“Okay~” Dudu ran toward Ye Zhile on his short legs, opening his small arms. “Mama, hug~”

“You’re wearing too many clothes, Mama can’t carry you. Let Papa hug you.” Ye Zhile kept his head down, letting Ji Shuohan adjust his collar.

Dudu turned to Ji Shuohan. “Papa…”

“Wait a moment.” Ji Shuohan took a scarf and wrapped it around Ye Zhile. “First we put the scarf on Mama. Alright, Papa’s got you.”

Ji Shuohan carried Dudu, and the family of three got into the car; they basically spent every New Year at the Ye family home. Because Ji Shuohan’s relationship with his own family wasn’t great and Ye Zhile didn’t particularly like the concubines there, they simply didn’t go.

When they arrived at the Ye house, the whole family was shoveling snow and building snowmen. Ye Zhijin was fumbling with a camera, taking photos of everyone in the snow.

“Dudu is here.” Wen Yumuo stepped forward to take Dudu from them. “Did you miss Grandma?”

“Miss you~” Dudu hugged Wen Yumuo’s neck and leaned against his shoulder; this dependent little mannerism was exactly the same as Ye Zhile’s when he was a child. Wen Yumuo doted on him immensely.

“His personality is just like Lele’s was,” Ye Junting laughed. “So lovable.”

“Of course, he’s my son after all.” Ye Zhile tilted his chin up.

“Of course~ he’s my son after all~” Ye Zhichen mimicked his tone mockingly.

Ye Zhile gave him a punch. “Father, look at Second Brother!”

“Hahahaha…” Ye Zhichen laughed at him.

“Your second brother used to call you ‘little baby’ with every breath when you were kids. Now that you’re grown, the love is gone,” Ye Junting said with feigned regret.

“That’s not true!” Ye Zhichen threw an arm around Ye Zhile. “He’ll always be my precious little brother, okay? Muah!”

“Ew~” Ye Zhile pushed him away in disgust. “The only reason you found a partner is because Xingtu hasn’t really dated before.”

“Hahahaha…”

Leng Xingtu, who was nearby, burst into laughter without mercy. Ye Zhichen asked seriously, “Really? It’s not because you love me? It’s because you’ve never dated?”

“What’s wrong with your brain?” Leng Xingtu glared at him, and Ye Zhichen smiled. “I knew it.”

The two brothers, Ye Zhichen and Ye Zhijin, had registered their marriages the previous year; this year was the first time everyone was officially spending the New Year together. Dudu called both of them “Auntie” and received four red envelopes.

Ye Zhile and Dudu, one big and one small, squatted down to build a snowman. Ji Shuohan shoveled snow for them, while Ye Zhijin took photos.

He took a photo of the family of three in the snow; Ji Shuohan was holding Dudu, who was making a peace sign with his small hand, while Ye Zhile held his other hand. Later, this photo would always remain in Ye Yunchu’s possession.
