Chapter 50: Oh No, a Fight Broke Out!
The little fatty curled his lip disdainfully. “What do you mean, ‘yours’ or ‘mine’? My papa said that those with low-born bloodlines are born to be slaves to S-grade Fierce Beast bloodlines. From now on, anything your family gets should be offered up to me. Be sensible and don’t make this difficult for me.”
The little fatty attempted to release his S-grade pressure to intimidate Shěn Lín.
He seemed to have pegged Shěn Lín as a pushover, completely ignoring the fuming Mò Bái beside him to focus entirely on Shěn Lín.
“Little Waste Shěn, let go right now, or don’t blame me for being impolite!”
The S-grade bloodline pressure came rushing toward them.
Mò Bái, showing great loyalty, stepped in front of Shěn Lín.
Opening his mouth, he unleashed a sonic wave that shattered the incoming pressure from the little fatty.
The little fatty shook his dizzy head, enraged by Mò Bái’s counterattack.
He unleashed several wind blades in quick succession, not caring in the least if they might strike the other children.
Mò Bái refused to back down and let out another sonic howl.
The two forces collided, flipping over everything in the classroom.
The children who were sensitive to danger had already sensed something was wrong and fled the classroom, watching from a distance.
As for those who didn’t react in time, they were either hit by flying objects or injured by the wind blades and sonic waves, letting out sharp, panicked cries.
The classroom descended into total chaos.
“Little Vélìtuō’ěr, it is forbidden to use bloodline powers in school! Vélìtuō’ěr, stop your behavior immediately!”
Seeing that she couldn’t talk the fighting children down, the teacher could only lead the other terrified, crying children to a safe zone and notify the security team to come and handle it as quickly as possible.
The little fatty grew annoyed by Mò Bái’s sonic waves. With a blur of motion, he switched forms; a portly lynx bared its fangs and lunged toward Mò Bái and Shěn Lín.
As he sprinted, wind blades followed close behind, splitting in mid-air—four became eight, eight became sixteen. The wind blades continuously stacked and intensified, the blades spinning rapidly to form a whirlwind that swept across the floor, leaving nothing but wreckage in its wake.
Several flashes of light flickered, and with a sharp crackle, a high-tech holographic desk was reduced to a pile of debris, caught up by the gale and slammed against a nearby wall, carving out deep craters.
“Meow-roar!”
The lynx leaped into the air, its razor-sharp claws and pointed fangs clearly visible as it opened its maw, seemingly intent on swallowing the two cubs whole.
Mò Bái transformed in an instant. His feet became a fish tail, long fins extended to his ears, and the gills behind his ears fluttered as they drew moisture from the air. His violet eyes looked coldly at the lynx charging with the gale. Opening his mouth, a piercing sonic wave rippled outward. The air distorted instantly, and even the hurricane laced with wind blades stalled for a moment.
The sonic waves of the Merfolk could travel vast distances through the air; they could kill invisibly and even briefly influence the minds of others.
Legend had it that in ancient times, the Merfolk used their songs to lure prey, and even ships sailing the seas were drawn to their deaths.
The Merfolk were ruthless, and every one of them was a great beauty!
Occupying an entire planet as a single clan, no one dared to provoke them.
If it weren’t for their sparse offspring, their formidable combat abilities would have meant they would never bow beneath Ikaruosi.
Shěn Lín’s mind wasn’t on the two fighters; he was staring blankly at his broken bracelet.
The bracelet was set with nine pink gemstones—it was the first greeting gift his Second Sister had ever given him.
He had always cherished this bracelet, wearing it on his wrist at all times and never letting it leave his side. Now, the chain was snapped.
Shěn Lín tried to repair it, but it was no use.
Broken was broken.
Thud!
A bag of his favorite snacks landed by his feet.
The wind had swept away all the snacks on the table, leaving him only a small bag of cheese.
His carefully cherished bracelet was broken, and his favorite food was gone. The pink fur on the cub’s head exploded, and a surge of energy erupted from within his body.
The Ghost Vine erected its vines and shot them out, clinging to the walls as its roots rapidly multiplied and grew.
In the blink of an eye, the classroom was overtaken by the Ghost Vine.
Slithering and intertwining, it hung from the ceiling like a massive spider, quickly “weaving” a giant web.
“What is this thing?!”
The lynx was tossed aside by a massive force. Feeling pain all over, he found himself unable to get up for a moment.
When he saw the dense, tangled Ghost Vines above him, the lynx gasped.
As the Ghost Vine attacked again, the lynx dodged and ducked, conjuring wind blades at his feet to cut through the vines.
Standing atop a pile of severed vines, the lynx sneered, “Nothing more than this!”
Suddenly, he felt something foreign around his ankle, and his vision blurred.
He was hanging upside down in mid-air.
The world spun.
The lynx tried to use his wind blades again, but the moment his bloodline energy was about to surge, it stopped abruptly.
“Ah! It hurts! My head hurts so much!”
The lynx let out a blood-curdling scream, clutching his head in agony.
Snap!
The Ghost Vine, appearing to have found someone to back it up, began to retaliate.
The vines turned into green whips, lashing down fiercely and creating sonic booms in the air.
The lynx howled and thrashed wildly as he was whipped.
The more he struggled, the tighter the Ghost Vine coiled.
Shěn Lín stood before the lynx. With a slight movement of his finger, a needle-thin strand of energy bored out of the lynx’s brain, climbed down Shěn Lín’s pant leg, stood on his shoulder, rubbed against his cheek, and then vanished back into his body.
With the stinging pain in his head gone, the lynx slumped to the ground as if dead.
His bloodline energy exhausted, he was forced back into human form.
Before he could catch his breath, a fist slammed into his eye socket.
The little fatty let out another howl.
“You little waste, you dare hit me! Do you know who my papa is… ow! Stop it!”
“Not the face… ow! My stomach…”
Shěn Lín was sitting on the little fatty. He was very receptive to advice and stopped hitting the face, immediately choosing other spots instead.
The Ghost Vine would even step forward occasionally to help with a lash.
The situation had shifted in an instant.
Before Mò Bái could even react, he saw the little fatty—who had been so smug just moments ago—being brutally beaten by his newly made best friend, wailing at the top of his lungs.
Mò Bái stood there in thought for a moment before walking toward Shěn Lín.
The Merfolk traits on his body faded, his fish tail turning back into a pair of short, chubby little legs.
“Bǐngbǐng, let me help you!”
Mò Bái couldn’t figure out why a heated brawl had turned into a one-sided beatdown, but it wasn’t them who were losing out.
And honestly, the little fatty was so well-padded that hitting him didn’t even hurt his hands!
“Principal, this is bad!”
The door was burst open from the outside. The principal, who had been napping, was startled awake and barked, “What’s bad? I’m perfectly fine! Rushing around like that—what will people think of our school’s image?”
The Director of Instruction, unable to catch his breath, gasped out, “Principal, something terrible has happened! The Shěn family’s young Master has gotten into a fight!”
The principal was instantly wide awake, snapping to his feet.
“Why is it that little ancestor?! Who is he fighting, and is it serious?!”
“Young Master Shěn, the Merfolk Little Prince, and the Young Master of the Vélì family are all brawling! As for how serious it is, I came to inform you as soon as I got the news. I haven’t seen it yet, but it can’t be a small matter. We’ll likely have to call both sets of parents.”
The principal felt the air leave his lungs, his vision swimming.
“Principal, Principal, are you alright?”
The Director of Instruction hurried forward to support him.
My Star Mother!
Principal, stay strong! if you faint, I’m the one who has to take the blame!
The principal ultimately did not faint.
The little person in his heart was wailing and desperate to escape, but the Director’s hand was clamped onto him like it was welded there.
The principal arrived at the freshman building and saw Young Master Shěn thrashing the Vélì family’s young Master. The Vélì boy’s face was swollen like a pig’s head—his own parents probably wouldn’t recognize him. Meanwhile, the Merfolk Little Prince was still shouting, “Bǐngbǐng, hit his butt! There’s more meat there, so it won’t hurt your hands.”
Principal: “…”
Just let the world end!
After Shěn Lín started school, the usually lively Shěn manor had become exceptionally quiet. Even the guards and servants seemed to have lost their drive, looking quite listless.
Everyone in the family was busy; after dropping off the cub, they had all gone their separate ways.
Papa Shěn had to stay in touch with his confidants.
Second Sister Shěn had been picked up by her personal secretary the moment she left the school gates.
Third Brother Shěn had wanted to wait for the cub at the nursery gates, but was sent off to class with a flying kick from Big Brother Shěn.
In the entire family, only Big Brother Shěn—who had just returned from the border star—was free.
As he emerged from his training in the Beast Blood Pool, Adjutant Karl hurried forward. “Major General, a communication just came from the nursery.”
Shěn Zéyù’s upper body was bare, revealing powerful, defined muscles. Hearing his adjutant’s words, the hand wiping away sweat paused. He took the clothes handed over by a servant, dressed quickly, and rushed to the school.
Just as he reached the principal’s office, he heard an arrogant voice from inside.
“…Is your nursery so desperate that you’re even admitting a waste?!”
Shěn Zéyù saw a woman’s long, sharp fingernails about to poke Bǐngbǐng’s face. His expression went cold instantly. He stepped forward, grabbed the woman’s wrist, and twisted it backward.
A sharp crack echoed, followed immediately by the woman’s piercing scream.
Shěn Zéyù said coldly, “If you don’t want this hand, I’ll help you out. No need to thank me.”
He tossed the woman’s hand aside like a piece of trash.
His adjutant appropriately stepped forward to hand him a clean handkerchief.
Shěn Zéyù wiped each of his fingers carefully.
The gesture was no different from slapping the woman’s face.
In an instant, the woman’s face turned from red to green to purple, a truly colorful display.
The principal, the Director of Instruction, and the other staff couldn’t help but twitch their lips.
This Madame Vélì had burst in and started berating them. Because of the power and influence behind her, they—a group of minor figures—couldn’t afford to offend her and had to endure it submissively.
But things were different now. Someone who could call the shots for the Shěn family had arrived.
Although Shěn Zéyù was only a Major General, the fact that his name was Shěn—the Shěn of Marshal Shěn—meant these noble lords had to give him some respect.
Shěn Zéyù checked the cub over for injuries.
“Bǐngbǐng, does it hurt anywhere?”
Shěn Lín shook his head.
Not satisfied, Shěn Zéyù felt the cub’s bones one by one. Seeing that he didn’t show any signs of discomfort, he let out a heavy sigh of relief.
“Don’t worry, Bǐngbǐng’s Big Brother! Bǐngbǐng is incredible. He beat Vélìtuō’ěr into a pig’s head. Of course, I helped a lot too!”
Mò Bái chattered incessantly.
A narrow-eyed youth standing behind Mò Bái pinched his mouth shut and smiled warmly. “I apologize. My nephew talks quite a bit; just act as if he isn’t here.”
Mò Bái, whose mouth had been pinched into a duck beak, glared defiantly at his young uncle.
Shěn Zéyù also recognized the narrow-eyed youth.
It was Mò Qīng, the Great Elder of the Merfolk clan and the biological brother of the Merfolk King.
Shěn Zéyù nodded politely to him.
