I Heard I’m the Only Healing Cub in the Interstellar Chapter 60

Chapter 60: Heli Gifts a Token… (First Update)

“Don’t look back, keep moving!”

As Lilith spoke, she gave Xiaowei a firm push forward.

Both had low-tier bloodlines, only C-grade. Coupled with the high-intensity stress of traversing the dangerous walkway, their stamina was draining rapidly.

The butler and the guards were all A-grade and quickly caught up to them.

The moment they closed the distance, the butler didn’t hesitate to attack.

Lilith and Xiaowei’s pace slowed down again.

Xiaowei was a Swallowtail Butterfly beastman. As she tried to dodge the butler’s attack, her wing was accidentally struck, and she plummeted straight down.

“Xiaowei!”

Lilith gritted her teeth and jumped after her.

As she fell, she spread fleshy, wing-like membranes beneath her arms—an innate ability belonging to Flying Squirrel beastmen.

Lilith forcefully threw an object upward.

Seeing that she had tossed a micro-bomb, the butler’s pupils shrank, and he roared, “Retreat!”

“Boom!”

The explosion destabilized the spatial structure, triggering a massive cave-in.

The two guards were caught off guard and buried alive. Only the butler managed to avoid being crushed.

But he didn’t make it out alive either. Just as he reached the exit, a black shadow pierced straight through his heart. He fell into the bottomless abyss, his eyes wide open in disbelief.

Meanwhile, lower down.

Lilith used the explosion to her advantage, employing her Flying Squirrel abilities to glide safely past the collapsing rubble.

Watching the two guards get crushed to death, she felt no regret, even if she hadn’t managed to kill the butler.

She had acquired the micro-bomb by chance and only brought it along just in case. She never expected it would actually save her life.

Reaching the bottom and stepping onto solid ground, Lilith’s tense nerves slightly relaxed.

She followed the path to look for Xiaowei.

“Xiaowei, where are you?”

Xiaowei struggled to crawl out from a crevice under the rubble. “Lilith, I’m over here!”

“Thank goodness, we’re both still alive. Let’s go, we need to leave right now!”

“Okay!”

Lilith got her bearings to find the exit. Just as she was about to tell Xiaowei to move, she noticed Xiaowei’s gaze was fixed on the crevice she had just crawled out of.

“Xiaowei, what are you looking at?”

Xiaowei pointed at the crevice, looking puzzled. “Lilith, when I fell down earlier, I think I vaguely saw something down there?”

“Something down there?”

Lilith stepped closer and peered down into the crevice. It was pitch black, and she couldn’t see a thing.

She pulled a small glowing sphere from her skirt pocket and tossed it down.

The little sphere hit the bottom and rolled a couple of times, illuminating the surroundings. There was nothing but rubble and broken stones; nothing else was there.

“Are you sure you didn’t imagine it?”

Xiaowei craned her neck to look, then scratched her head. “M-maybe I really did just imagine it.”

“Let’s go. Even though we escaped the butler’s pursuit, we can’t let our guard down. The closer we get to the exit, the more careful we need to be.”

The two headed in the direction of the exit.

The little glowing sphere at the bottom flickered twice, then rolled automatically in a certain direction.

It didn’t stop until it bumped into an object.

In the faint light, a white egg lay quietly among the ruins.

The next second, a cold, segmented leg appeared.

With a soft crack, the glowing sphere was crushed, and its light extinguished completely.

In the darkness, the spine-chilling sound of scuttling echoed.

——

“Boss, three orders of octopus balls, extra meat please!”

The owner of the octopus ball stand near the mall moved briskly, replying with a beaming smile, “Of course, young man! The octopus balls here have absolutely no additives. They are made from pure, hand-crafted octopus tentacle meat. If you don’t believe me, take a look for yourself, guaranteed fresh!”

The owner enthusiastically tried to prove his ingredients were clean and sanitary, showing the customers the bucket of octopus meat.

Shen Lin sat on Shen Zejue’s shoulders. From this angle, he had a perfect view of the octopus tentacles coiled underneath the owner’s counter.

Yep, definitely very fresh!

“Your octopus balls are ready!”

“Thank you, Boss.”

“Thank ‘oo, Boss~”

Shen Lin chimed in with a sweet thank you.

Hearing the cub’s adorable voice, the owner’s smile became even more genuine. He laughed heartily, “Oh my, what a cute little cub! Uncle will throw in a few extra donuts for you.”

Hearing about the free snacks, Shen Lin’s little mouth became as sweet as honey. He cheered, “Thank ‘oo, Boss~”

The two humans and one cub squatted by the roadside, popping octopus balls into their mouths one by one.

Who cares about maintaining an image when you’re hungry?

“Tastes pretty good. We should come to this place more often.”

Shen Zejue polished off his portion in a few bites, then pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the cub’s mouth.

The cub’s clothes were covered in crumbs, and his mouth was ringed with grease.

He lifted his little chin, waiting obediently for his third brother to finish wiping, then went back to eating the remaining octopus balls.

The cub was quite busy this time; he needed to eat more to nourish himself.

Once the two brothers and the cub were full, they hopped on the aircraft and headed home.

Tali’er dropped the two brothers off at the Shen estate, then hurried back to his own home without stopping.

As soon as he walked through the door, he saw his grandfather coming downstairs with red, teary eyes.

Tali’er’s heart tightened, thinking something had happened to his mother again. He quickly asked, “Grandpa, is my mother…”

But Heli grabbed his grandson’s hands, his voice trembling with excitement. “Al, your mother recognized me! It’s wonderful, my Hela is finally better, sob sob sob…”

The old man truly loved his daughter. For over ten years, he had traveled everywhere and spent countless star-coins trying to suppress her condition. Now, finally seeing a glimmer of hope for her recovery, how could he not be ecstatic?

Tali’er was equally thrilled. “Grandpa, really?! I’m going to go see Mom!”

The grandfather and grandson hurried to Hela’s room.

As the healer examined Hela, he gasped in amazement, “Incredible, this is simply incredible! Ms. Hela’s condition hasn’t worsened at all; it’s actually entering a recovery phase. I believe that before long, her Berserk Syndrome will drop to safe levels. My god, I am witnessing a miracle!”

Tali’er, however, hesitated at the door, too afraid to step inside.

Hela lay in bed, her face still pale, but her mental state was excellent. She spotted the young man standing at the door instantly.

“Baby, my child. Come here, let Mommy get a good look at you.”

Tali’er walked toward Hela step by step, crouching down beside her. His lips moved a few times before he finally managed to call out, his voice choked with emotion.

“Mom.”

“Baby, Mommy is right here.”

Hela reached out and touched Tali’er’s face.

Her hand, carrying the slight chill typical of patients, stroked him gently, as if carefully tracing the mature features of her grown-up child.

“Baby, you’ve suffered so much all these years.”

Tali’er shook his head silently, burying his face deeply into his mother’s embrace.

Feeling the gentle strokes on his head, Tali’er closed his eyes, savoring the first embrace he had shared with his mother in over ten years.

The chattering healer fell silent, signaling Mr. Heli with a look to step outside to talk.

Heli understood immediately. He wiped his red, swollen eyes and followed the healer out.

“Ms. Hela’s condition is currently stable. I wonder if Mr. Heli would allow me to draw a vial of Ms. Hela’s blood to take back for analysis? Of course, I simply want to research what suppressed her condition. I will absolutely not do anything that would harm her.”

“Of course.”

The healer had been specifically assigned by the Shen family to treat his daughter, and his daughter’s recovery was also thanks to the Shen family.

As long as it didn’t harm his daughter, Heli had no objections to how much blood was drawn.

If Councilor Shen hadn’t personally issued a gag order, Heli would have loved to kneel and bow to the Little Master right then and there!

In the past, he had begged everyone and spent fortunes for his daughter’s illness, yet her condition never improved. He received critical condition notices numerous times, and the security bureau frequently issued orders to send his daughter to the Blood Abyss.

He thanked his lucky stars that he was wealthy. By paying the security bureau a handsome sum, he managed to keep his daughter. If he hadn’t stubbornly held onto her day after day for ten years, she probably wouldn’t have survived until now.

Heli called the butler to inventory his finances.

Although he had given two-thirds of his wealth to the Shen family last time, that money went to the Shen estate, not directly into the Little Master’s hands.

This time, he intended to open his private vault and see what items were suitable for a cub, intending to give them all away.

Looking at the star-coins and gemstones piled before him, Heli still felt it wasn’t enough.

After a moment of thought, he turned and walked toward the deepest part of his private vault. He opened a hidden door, revealing a descending staircase.

The moment the door opened, energy-stone lamps embedded on both sides of the stairs lit up automatically.

Heli descended the stairs.

At the end of the stairs was a dead end.

Heli placed his hand against the wall.

The next second, the wall glowed with blue laser lines, and a card slot popped out from the center.

Heli took off the necklace he was wearing and placed it into the center of the slot.

The slot swallowed the necklace and retracted into the wall.

The mechanical sound of grinding gears echoed.

A door protruded from the wall.

The heavy door slowly swung open.

Heli stepped inside.

The space wasn’t large, but the floor was packed with large chests stacked one on top of another.

Heli bypassed the chests and approached another door, pressing his hand against it.

The door opened.

This time, it didn’t reveal a corresponding room, but rather a solid wall.

Heli didn’t look at the wall, instead shifting his gaze to the back of the door.

He pressed a specific indentation. With a soft ding, a square slot appeared in the center of the heavy door, and a palm-sized box slid out.

Heli caught the small box expertly.

The box was forged from meteorite iron. It was pitch black, with faint, dark gold light shimmering across its surface.

Heli opened the box. Inside lay a button-shaped token.

The token was crafted from star meteorite. The front featured nine connected stars, resembling a linked serpent’s head, while from the side, it looked like a red squirrel with a bushy tail. The back was engraved with the word “Heli.”

Heli gently stroked the token, a look of nostalgia flashing in his eyes.

The next day, this token was in Shen Lin’s hands.

Shen Lin was currently munching on an Ikaruosi specialty dessert made by Mixijie. He held the button-like token, holding it up to the sunlight to inspect it.

The edges of the token shimmered with a dark gold starlight.

“Really for me~”

The chubby little hand waved the token in front of Heli.

Heli nodded.

“Little Master, don’t underestimate this small token. Its uses are actually immense. As long as you take this token to any spaceship port, you can summon all the caravan crews to serve you.”

Shen Lin blinked his eyes. “Can it be eaten?”

“Uh…”

Heli froze.

“Cannot eat?”

Looking thoroughly disappointed, Shen Lin pushed the token back into Heli’s hand. “Don’t want it~”

Heli didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, and could only explain: “Little Master, although it can’t be eaten, it can buy anything in the Interstellar, including commanding an entire faction!”

Shen Lin chewed his food, his cheeks bulging. He raised his big, dark eyes, looking innocently at Heli.

“But it cannot be eaten~”

Heli: “…”

Alright, the Little Master is still young, I can’t expect too much.

Heli tucked the token back into Shen Lin’s arms, lowering his voice to instruct earnestly: “Little Master, you might not understand its importance right now. If you ever run into trouble or danger in the future, you must remember to take this token to a spaceship port. Someone will be there to help you.”
