Part 3
Three seconds passed.
Yun Yingzhi took a deep breath.
The rabbit cub shuddered and immediately opened its arms toward the egg cub.
The egg cub turned half a circle, presumably looking at the rabbit cub.
Then, the two cubs acted as if they were reuniting with long-lost relatives, sprinting toward each other.
Crossing half the distance of the bed, the rabbit cub embraced the egg cub again, and the egg cub successfully rolled into its arms.
The rabbit cub blinked its large, black eyes and looked at Yun Yingzhi.
Yun Yingzhi nodded with satisfaction, turned around, and walked toward the bathroom.
Almost the instant Yun Yingzhi turned his back, the rabbit cub and egg cub separated quickly, pulling away from each other.
Yun Yingzhi took three steps and paused.
The rabbit cub and egg cub, who were running toward opposite edges of the bed, sensed Yun Yingzhiās paused footsteps. Their little bodies froze in place, motionless.
Yun Yingzhi took a fourth step, and the two cubs quickly pulled further apart.
Yun Yingzhi stopped, and their little bodies froze again.
A strange atmosphere permeated the entire room.
Yun Yingzhi suddenly turned his head to look at the two cubs.
The rabbit cub looked at him with a dazed face; the egg cub shuddered.
Yun Yingzhi: “Heh.”
Almost instantly, the rabbit cub opened its little paws, the egg cub rolled its little body, and the two little things were once again “lovingly” held together.
Yun Yingzhi stared at them for three seconds, then turned back and continued toward the bathroom.
Back and forth it went.
After the rabbit cub and egg cub separated four times in a row, by the fifth time, they finally learned their lesson. When Yun Yingzhi suddenly turned around again, the two cubs were the most loving brothers in the Empire.
The rabbit cub affectionately licked the egg cub.
The egg cub cloyingly rubbed against the rabbit cub.
Yun Yingzhi looked at the rabbit cub and gave a warning: “Jiaojiao, Taotao is not food.” Then he entered the bathroom to wash up.
Perhaps because Yun Yingzhi had given the two cubs the illusion that he would always launch a sneak attack, when he came out from his bath this time, he found the two cubs still tightly embracing each other.
However…
What was quite subtle was that, clearly, after the rabbit cub saw Yun Yingzhi emerge from the bath, it started sprouting little bubbles all over, frantically expressing: “Da da da da da da!”
Yun Yingzhi: “…” He couldn’t understand a single word.
Unable to understand the rabbit cub’s “Da-language,” Yun Yingzhi perfectly missed the praise coming from the cub.
Yun Yingzhi dried his hair and sat on the bed.
Holding the egg cub, the rabbit cub moved to Yun Yingzhiās pillow and snuggled into the crook of his neck.
Yun Yingzhi patted the rabbit cubās head, opened his personal terminal in hidden mode, and began designing the Source Weapon.
He had to design the inscription as quickly as possible to ensure Yun Yingyaoās safety.
Perhaps due to the urgency, or maybe just good luck, the design went very smoothly. Yun Yingzhi already had a preliminary idea, though he didn’t know if it would work; he still needed to try.
After having a preliminary idea, Yun Yingzhi started designing the auxiliary inscriptions.
During this process, he discovered a new difficulty: how to perfectly fuse the primary inscription with the auxiliary ones. This was a major problem.
Thinking about it, Yun Yingzhi felt he was being a bit foolish.
Instead of thinking about this problem himself, he might as well just look at the notes left by his predecessors to learn.
He opened the Star Net and searched for relevant information, only to discover a serious issue.
The Los Empire did not have this type of Source Weapon.
The Los Empire had large-scale Source Weapons, but the premise was that the Source Weapon was a single whole, and then a group of ability warriors would channel “source” into it to light up the inscription.
This method used a complete inscription, where every warrior acted as a “tool-man” providing source for the inscription.
It was fine in a safe place, but it appeared very passive in a dangerous one.
Thinking about it…
Previously, he had said he would help the Empire optimize the large-scale spatial limitation inscription that could cover the entire Imperial Star.
Judging by the tutorials he found on the Star Net, so-called “large-scale spatial limitation” was truly large-scaleāone super, super, super large Source Weapon. When the inscription inside was lit, the coverage area would be massive.
Of course, using this method to cover the entire Imperial Star was absolutely impossible.
Yun Yingzhi guessed it would likely be done by districtsāfor example, building one large Source Weapon in every city.
This was such a troublesome and inflexible method.
Forget it, forget it. There was no rush for that yet; the priority was Yun Yingyao.
The image of Yun Yingyao in a sea of Zergs flashed through Yun Yingzhiās mind.
Although it was difficult, to increase Yun Yingyaoās survival rate, he had to find a way to manufacture the envisioned Source Weapon as soon as possible.
Time slipped away unnoticed. By the time Yun Yingzhi snapped back to his senses, it was already 7:30 in the morning.
The new year, Initial Dayāalso the day the Star Brilliance Competition semi-finals began.
Yun Yingzhi looked at the rabbit cub. Judging by the sound of its breathing, it should still be sleeping. He looked at the egg cub…
It should be sleeping too, right?
Yun Yingzhi went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face.
When he came out of the bathroom, he found the rabbit cub and egg cub rolled into a ball on the bed, seemingly fighting.
Yun Yingzhiās voice was serious: “Jiaojiao! Taotao!”
The two cubs froze. The next moment, their reaction was swift: the rabbit cub nimbly opened its paws, and the egg cub quickly rolled into its embrace.
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
The rabbit cub looked at Yun Yingzhi with bright eyes: “Da.”
The egg cub affectionately rubbed against the rabbit cub.
Yun Yingzhi paused for a moment, then carried the two cubs together downstairs.
Yun Yinghui had already prepared breakfast.
The rabbit cub held a milk bottle to drink milk. The egg cub couldn’t drink it, but under its blind, energetic tossing, Yun Yingzhi poured half a bowl of milk and then stuffed the egg cub into the bowl, letting it take a “milk bath.”
Seeing the egg cub soaked in the bowl like food, the rabbit cub drank its milk “glug glug,” drinking especially heartily.
After a while, the rabbit cub finished its bottle and crawled toward the dining table. Its two little paws gripped the edge of the bowl as it stood on its “tippy-toes,” licking the milk inside.
The egg cub bounced in the bowl, spraying milk all over the rabbit cubās face.
The rabbit cub stole a glance in Yun Yingzhiās direction, then its two little paws patted the edge of the bowl, its gaze warning.
Yun Yinghuiās mouth twitched as he took in all the interactions between the two little things. These two cubs really couldn’t stay peaceful for a single moment.
Yun Yinghui looked at Yun Yingzhi and asked, “Zhizhi, did you not rest well last night?”
Yun Yingzhi gave a soft “Mm” and said, “I was thinking about the Source Weapon design.”
Yun Yinghui: “Don’t go to the semi-finals today. One day won’t matter.”
Yun Yingzhi shook his head. “The semi-finals last for fifteen days. Starting from the semi-finals, all the source materials I consume during these fifteen days will be provided at the lowest price. In the preliminary and qualifying rounds, there were limitsāif the amount of damaged material reached a certain proportion, you had to pay. Thereās no such limit starting from the semi-finals. During this period, I must try the new inscriptions over and over again.”
Yun Yinghuiās eyelids jumped frantically.
He could never forget when Yun Yingzhi was still very small. He had sent the tiny Yun Yingzhi to Master Alvinās workshop and told the Master that Yun Yingzhi loved making Source Weapons, and no matter how much material he consumed in the workshop, it could be charged to his account.
During that time, he really almost had to sell himself to pay off the debt.
Hearing Yun Yingzhiās words now…
He seemed to be rubbing his hands together in anticipation, planning to wreak havoc on the competitionās source materials.
That was truly…
A super-destructive power that could only be described as terrifying.
