Mr. Shen’s Sick Obsession Chapter 75

Chapter 75: I Don’t Want Brother Su Nian to Leave

He had to endure it. But thinking about how he’d been slapped twice for doing nothing made him too proud to comfort the other. He snapped: “Fine, stop crying already.”

Hearing that, Liang Sheng cried even harder.

Shen Xingyu was at a loss, but he remained stubborn: “I’m already here trying to make peace, what more do you want?”

“You…!”

Liang Sheng was choked with rage. Seeing him acting all high and mighty and self-centered again made his chest tight.

He didn’t want to waste another breath on this man. He got up to wash and change, leaving the room without looking back.

Shen Xingyu chased after him. “I really didn’t do anything to you! Why are you so mad?”

Liang Sheng pulled his hand away, refusing to give him a single look. “Don’t touch me!”

Su Nian saw the two of them bickering. His face darkened. He ran up with a smile and greeted them:

“President Shen~ Good morning!”

Hearing that cloying, high-pitched voice first thing in the morning made Liang Sheng feel ill. He shot a look of disgust at Su Nian and hurried down the stairs, gripping the handrail.

What was with that look from Liang Sheng?!

Su Nian’s teeth were nearly grinding to dust.

He suppressed his emotions and turned piteously to Shen Xingyu, hoping he would discipline Liang Sheng for being rude, just like before.

But Shen Xingyu didn’t even glance at him. His eyes were only on his wife. “Sheng-sheng, wait for me!”

“Argh…”

Su Nian let out a low groan and stomped his foot.

Why had Shen Xingyu changed?!

Why did he used to loathe Liang Sheng and love only him, but now it was the opposite?

He felt a scratching, burning hatred for Liang Sheng.

Why did he have to steal everything from him!

Liang Sheng had just reached the bottom of the stairs when he heard Shen Tingwan’s laughter from the living room: “Grandfather! Long time no see!”

Old Master Shen was smiling from ear to ear.

His beloved granddaughter was finally home to keep him company. His early morning wait had been worth it.

Liang Sheng slowed his pace. Seeing his sister-in-law made him feel uneasy, but as the “Young Madam” of the house, he had to maintain appearances. He approached the Old Master. “Grandfather.”

Then he looked at Shen Tingwan, forcing a stiff smile. “Wan-wan, you’re on break?”

Shen Tingwan had always been indifferent to this timid sister-in-law. She shot him an arrogant look and went back to clinging to the Old Master’s arm. “Grandfather, are you feeling better? Have you been taking your medicine?”

Liang Sheng was used to being ignored. He didn’t say anything else and took a seat in a corner.

“I have. Enough about me, look at you, you’ve gotten thin. Have you been skipping meals again?”

The Old Master pinched her nose.

“No way! I’m not thin at all!”

Shen Tingwan puffed out her cheeks, her “baby fat” making her look adorable. The Old Master laughed.

“You little rascal, you always know how to make me laugh.”

“Hehe.”

Shen Tingwan stuck out her tongue.

Seeing Shen Xingyu approach, she pouted.

“Brother! You didn’t say anything about coming to Nanshi! When I went home last time, no one was there to cook for me!”

“There are plenty of servants. Aren’t they enough for you?”

Shen Xingyu sat on the arm of the sofa where Liang Sheng was sitting, looking down at him with a smile.

Liang Sheng looked at the way he was hovering over him, his shadow covering him. His heart raced.

He looked away, not daring to meet the man’s eyes. He cursed him as a lunatic in his heart.

What was he smiling for?

Because he got his way last night? Was he gloating?

Thinking of Shen Xingyu holding the half-dressed Su Nian in front of him last night, and the incident this morning, Liang Sheng’s anger flared.

He knew he shouldn’t care, but he couldn’t help but feel resentful and hurt.

Shen Xingyu saw that he looked upset, biting his lip in silence. He grew frustrated.

Was he… angry again?

“I don’t like their cooking. It’s not good. It’s one thing for you to leave, but why did he have to come along?”

Shen Tingwan was still complaining, clearly blaming Liang Sheng for coming to Nanshi.

“Watch your mouth. Call him ‘Sister-in-law.'”

Shen Xingyu corrected her sternly.

He had spoiled this sister too much!

In the past, he had allowed her to disrespect Liang Sheng because he wanted to see how much Liang Sheng would endure for him.

Now, Liang Sheng was done with him. He had to do something to protect what was left of their relationship.

“I won’t.”

Shen Tingwan huffed.

“Sheng-sheng is your sister-in-law after all. Be respectful.”

The Old Master patted her shoulder gently.

“I won’t! I don’t recognize him as my sister-in-law!”

Shen Tingwan shook her head. Suddenly, she saw Su Nian standing behind the sofa and her face lit up.

“Brother Su Nian! Why are you standing there? Come sit! I missed you!”

She grabbed Su Nian’s arm and pulled him down beside her. This was her real sister-in-law!

Seeing Su Nian, the Old Master’s smile vanished. His face grew dark. “What are you doing in the Shen residence?”

“I… I was being followed by paparazzi. I had nowhere else to go. President Shen said I could stay here for a few days.”

Su Nian explained piteously.

“Paparazzi? What paparazzi?”

Shen Tingwan was shocked.

Surely not?

With her brother’s protection, how could Su Nian be followed?

“It’s…”

Before Su Nian could finish, Shen Xingyu cut him off:

“It’s nothing.”

Su Nian fell silent under his cold gaze.

Liang Sheng knew the “paparazzi” were likely related to the scandal photos.

His mood plummeted.

“Brother! Su Nian was being followed, and you’re not doing anything? What if something happens?”

Shen Tingwan was anxious.

She was so protective of Su Nian that it stung. Liang Sheng didn’t want to see it anymore. He started to stand up, but Shen Xingyu, sensing his movement, pressed his hand on his shoulder.

He looked up to complain, but the man wasn’t looking at him. He said coldly:

“He looks fine to me.”

Su Nian’s heart sank.

Why was there not a trace of concern in this man’s eyes…

Shen Tingwan was also surprised. Why did it seem like her brother didn’t care about Su Nian at all?

“Brother Su Nian, don’t be afraid. Stay here in the Shen residence! With my brother here, no one will hurt you!”

She comforted Su Nian.

“I’m having him leave today.”

Shen Xingyu added.

“President Shen…”

Su Nian was on the verge of tears.

Liang Sheng looked at Shen Xingyu in disbelief. That man, usually so good at faking it, was now acting completely indifferent.

He truly couldn’t understand him anymore.

Shen Xingyu, what are you doing?

Wasn’t it your idea to bring him here?

Why are you saying he has to leave today?

“Why? I won’t let him! I finally get to hang out with him, I won’t let him go!”

Shen Tingwan was frantic.

“Then you can leave with him.”

Shen Xingyu was uncompromising. He wasn’t giving in to his sister as he usually did. Su Nian felt his heart drop to the floor.

“Grandfather! Listen to him! I don’t care! I want Brother Su Nian to stay! He can help me with my studies! Grandfather, please, let him stay with me!”

Shen Tingwan shook the Old Master’s arm, crying and complaining.

Su Nian saw a ray of hope. As long as he stayed, he could win Shen Xingyu back!

“Fine, fine. If Wan-wan likes him, he can stay.”

The Old Master gave in. He adored Shen Tingwan even more than he did Shen Xingyu.

“Thank you, Grandfather!”

Shen Tingwan hugged him happily.

Su Nian’s heart finally settled.

“No. This residence doesn’t just let anyone stay. Grandfather, that was your rule.”

Shen Xingyu stood up and looked at the Old Master, opposing the decision.

Su Nian’s face turned pale.

Liang Sheng didn’t understand. The Old Master had agreed; Shen Xingyu should be happy. Why was he acting so devoted? Who was he trying to impress?

Did he think he would be moved…

“Brother, it’s only been two months. Why are you being like this to Brother Su Nian…”

Shen Tingwan was confused, but with the Old Master there, she couldn’t mention the relationship between Shen Xingyu and Su Nian.

She hugged Su Nian and huffed: “Whatever. Grandfather said yes, so you can’t stop it!”

“Enough. If you know this house doesn’t just let anyone stay, why did you let him in last night?”

The Old Master didn’t know what to say to his grandson.

“I…”

Shen Xingyu was speechless.

Last night he was just afraid Su Nian would die and Liang Sheng would lose his “blood bag.” He intended to keep him for one night and then move him somewhere safe. He hadn’t expected Tingwan to be so attached to him.

Fine. Better to keep him under his watch to make sure nothing went wrong with his health.

It was all for Liang Sheng.

“Wan-wan, thank you…”

Su Nian was moved to tears.

“Don’t mention it!”

Shen Tingwan was happy again.

“Oh, I brought gifts.”

She pulled her suitcase over and opened it, taking out several beautifully wrapped boxes.

She gave the first to the Old Master. “Grandfather, this is a massager for you. Your neck is always sore, this should help!”

“Good girl.”

The Old Master smiled.

His granddaughter was so thoughtful!

“Here, Brother, for you.”

She tossed one to Shen Xingyu and then shoved the last, most beautiful box into Su Nian’s hands:

“Brother Su Nian, this is for you. It’s a limited edition necklace I worked so hard to find!”

Su Nian’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Wan… Miss Shen!”

Liang Sheng watched the family being so happy together. He felt like a total outsider.

Everyone got a gift. As expected, there was none for him. He hadn’t expected one from Shen Tingwan anyway.

Shen Xingyu looked down at the red-eyed Liang Sheng. His mood soured. He demanded:

“Where is your sister-in-law’s gift?”

“I don’t have one. I forgot.”

Shen Tingwan didn’t even look at Liang Sheng. She turned back to Su Nian with a wide smile. “Hurry, open it!”

“Wan-wan, Sheng-sheng has been working hard taking care of me. You really should have gotten him a gift.”

The Old Master knew she disliked Liang Sheng. It was one thing to skip him, but to give a gift to the brother of the woman who nearly ruined the family’s reputation… he was a bit bothered.

“I didn’t have enough money!”

Shen Tingwan pouted. She gave Liang Sheng an “innocent” smile. “I’m sure Sister-in-law won’t mind, right?”
