Part 2
Ten minutes later, Chu Yang packed some things and headed out. Xie An and Si Yao watched him with hesitant expressions. Throughout the day, they had asked several times if he was okay, yet neither had mentioned Lin Zhiheng even once.
It was strange, but Chu Yang didn’t want to think about it.
Tonight was the actual welcome dinner for Zhou Ningyu, since Chu Yuanzhou hadn’t been around the day before.
Chu Yuanzhou had booked the restaurant and even arranged for post-dinner activities: a massage. He even asked Zhou Ningyu if she wanted to call for some male models.
The moment Chu Yang dipped his legs into the foot soaking tub, his weary spirit began to relaxâuntil he heard the word “male models.” He sat up straight and looked at Zhou Ningyu and her assistant, then at Chu Yuanzhou.
Chu Yuanzhou smirked. “What? You want some too?”
Chu Yang: “…I don’t.”
So Chu Yuanzhou ordered them for Zhou Ningyu and her assistant. To Chu Yangâs surprise, both of them accepted.
Zhou Ningyu teased, “Not afraid of corrupting your younger brother anymore?”
Chu Yuanzhou: “…”
There was a dedicated tea master, but Chu Yuanzhou felt the flavor wasn’t quite right, so he took over and started brewing the tea himself. Chu Yang lay back with his eyes closed while a technician massaged his legs. A large screen in front of them was playing a movie.
The ambient sound of trickling water was very healing.
Chu Yang was drifting off when Chu Yuanzhou suddenly leaned forward, his face almost touching Chu Yangâs. Chu Yang was very fair, so the dark circles under his eyes were quite prominent. No wonder he had insisted on wearing black-rimmed glasses when he left today.
Just as Chu Yuanzhou reached out his hand, Chu Yangâs eyes snapped open. He seized the hand, his thin lips pressed tight and a flash of sharpness in his eyes. Chu Yuanzhou was stunned for a moment, trying to get a better look, but Chu Yang quickly lowered his gaze and let go.
“Iâm just so tired,” Chu Yang muttered, rubbing his eyes.
Chu Yuanzhou stared at him silently. He bit his tongue and decided not to ask what was wrong right then and there.
But Chu Yang couldn’t sleep peacefully anyway. He had become very sensitive to gazes recently and felt several pairs of eyes on him. He opened his eyes and turned his headâsure enough, several male models were staring at him, some even looking like they wanted to touch him… Just how many had been ordered?
They even gave him shy, bashful smiles.
Zhou Ningyu asked him again, “You really don’t want any?”
Chu Yang massaged his temples and sat up a bit straighter. “I don’t like men.”
Zhou Ningyu: “Fine then. It seems you really do prefer the ‘older sister’ type.”
Chu Yuanzhou covered Chu Yang with a blanket and asked if he wanted an eye mask.
Chu Yang: “Yes, please.”
Though he couldn’t fall asleep, the steam eye mask and the massage helped alleviate much of his fatigue. Chu Yuanzhou knew he wasn’t asleep and occasionally fed him small snacks with a fork.
Chu Yang would open his mouth, accept the food, and chew away.
He wasn’t worried at all about bones or pits.
Zhou Ningyu watched them for a while, finding the male models uninteresting. They had big muscles and decent faces, but compared to Chu Yang, they were lacking. More importantly, they weren’t as entertaining to watch as the brothers’ interaction.
She didn’t know what kind of quirk Chu Yuanzhou had, still feeding his brother like this at his age.
The first time Zhou Ningyu had seen such a scene, she found it hard to believe, but back then Chu Yang was a minorânot even in high schoolâso it was somewhat normal.
But doing it now? She really wasn’t afraid of spoiling him until he became useless.
However, she had to admitâwith a face like Chu Yangâs, anyone would want to pamper him. Were these two brothers planning never to get married?
The assistant had been in a bit of a bad mood because Zhou Ningyu ordered male models, but seeing that most of her attention remained on Chu Yang, he relaxed slightly.
After the relaxation session, Zhou Ningyu and her assistant returned to their hotel, while Chu Yuanzhou drove Chu Yang home.
He had planned to ask his questions on the way, but Chu Yang fell asleep the moment he buckled his seatbelt.
Chu Yuanzhou: “…”
Just what has he been doing to be this exhausted?
The car was driven steadily. When they arrived at the gate, Chu Yang still didn’t wake up, even after Chu Yuanzhou called his name several times.
His gaze darkened. He unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over Chu Yang, scanning him from head to toe. He even rolled up Chu Yangâs sleeves and trouser legs slightlyâthere were no marks.
There were certainly no hickeys or anything of the sort on his collar. Chu Yuanzhou let out a sigh of relief; it wasn’t a case of overindulgence.
He unbuckled Chu Yangâs seatbelt, got out of the car, and carried him upstairs in one smooth motion. It was clear he had done this many times before.
Chu Yang slept exceptionally well. Perhaps because of the familiar scent, he didn’t have a single dream. He woke up even before his alarm went off and gave a satisfying stretch. Discovering he was already in his pajamas made his mood even better.
He had classes today, but he didn’t plan on going. He was worried that if he saw Lin Zhihengâs face at school, he wouldn’t be able to control himself from giving the man another beating.
After eating breakfast with Chu Yuanzhou, he sent a message to his counselor to request a leave of absence. He spent half the day curled up at home watching movies until his phone rangâit was Chu Yuanzhou.
“What is it?”
His voice sounded lazy. Chu Yuanzhou paused for a moment before asking, “Don’t you have classes today? Not going?”
“No, I don’t feel like it.” Most of his attention was still on the movie.
Chu Yuanzhou: “Then come to the office to keep me company? I have to work overtime today.”
Chu Yang: “No thanks. Do your work.”
Chu Yuanzhou: “You have no heart.”
After watching for a while longer, the phone rang again. This time it was Zhou Ningyu.
“Sister, what is it?”
Zhou Ningyu: “I heard you’re bored at home? Want to come out for dinner tonight? I’ll take you somewhere fun afterward.”
Chu Yang sighed and squeezed a throw pillow. “Who said I was bored…”
Zhou Ningyu laughed. “Chu Yuanzhou, of course. He told me to take you out if I was free, saying you were about to grow mushrooms staying at home.”
Chu Yang: “…I’m not a kid anymore. Where are we going tonight?”
Zhou Ningyu: “A good place. I wanted to take you there last night, but your brother was there and he definitely wouldn’t have agreed. Youâll see tonight.”
Chu Yang: “Alright then.”
That evening, Chu Yang dropped off dinner for Chu Yuanzhou before heading out with Zhou Ningyu. He hadn’t expected the “good place” she mentioned to be… a bar?!
However, it was indeed Chu Yangâs first time, so he was quite curious.
They arrived early, so the bar wasn’t crowded. The music was mellow. The staff were busy with their dutiesâpolishing glasses or washing dishes behind the counter.
“Welcome.”
Chu Yang and Zhou Ningyu sat at the bar. Zhou Ningyu tapped the counter. “Is the mixologist not in?”
The waiter washing dishes looked up and froze the moment he saw Chu Yangâs face. It wasn’t until Zhou Ningyu repeated her question that he snapped out of it. “The… the mixologist is in the back changing. Heâll be out in a second. I can take your order in the meantime.”
He quickly washed and dried his hands before standing at the POS terminal. “What can I get for you two?”
While looking at Zhou Ningyu, his peripheral vision kept darting toward Chu Yang.
Zhou Ningyu found it amusing; he seemed like a younger guy who had just entered the workforce. “What do you recommend? Itâs our first time here; Iâm not sure how it differs from other places.”
The waiterâs eyes lit up. “We have two new cocktails that would suit you perfectly.”
He tapped the screen, and an image appeared in front of Zhou Ningyu. “This one is the [Hawthorn Fizz]; it suits you very well.”
It was red with a high foam headâquite stylish. Zhou Ningyu nodded. “That does look good. And for him?”
