The Temple Master Always Wants to Make an Early Appearance chapter 94

Chapter 94: Can You Give Birth?

Immortal Realm.

Within a small, ordinary sect, an妖獸 resembling a tiger was currently wreaking havoc.

“Demon, watch this move!” A frigid sword light slashed through the air, striking the beast as it opened its blood-red maw toward two girls.

Amidst the surrounding cries of mixed grief and joy, the beast’s neck snapped, and blood erupted like a fountain, shooting several meters high.

Mo Yang looked down, his eyes meeting those of a young girl who was shielding a child in her arms.

“The surrounding area is the territory of Qiu Ming Mountain. That snake-tailed tiger beast was also raised by Qiu Ming Mountain; they intentionally released it to destroy Xiao Ye Sect’s spiritual herb fields. Once the deadline arrives and Xiao Ye Sect cannot hand over enough herbs, they will be forced to merge into Qiu Ming Mountain as an auxiliary sect”.

“They did it on purpose. Xiao Yu has a Pure Yin constitution. The last rent collector from Qiu Ming Mountain discovered her constitution and wanted to take her as a furnace. Xiao Ye Sect refused, leading to this disaster. Now that the sect has disbanded, I plan to take Xiao Yu back to Ziyun Sect”.

“Guanzhu, I have come to bid you farewell.” Mo Yang stood before Yun Wuxiang with the young girl. He stood straight, his eyes still burning with righteous indignation.

“I have troubled you greatly these past few days. I, Mo Yang, owe you a favor. If you have any commands, I will do my absolute best”.

Yun Wuxiang gave a faint response. He glanced up at the ceiling, then stood and waved his hand. The tea table before him vanished entirely. He walked to the window, the sunlight spilling over him as if he had been pulled into another dimension, completely separated from his surroundings.

Behind Mo Yang, Xiao Yu watched the person in the room with curiosity. Her moist, bright eyes were wide, staring at Yun Wuxiang with pure amazement and wonder.

In the next moment, a massive force came from behind her. Mo Yang grabbed her collar and yanked her backward.

The roof collapsed.

Beams, bricks, and debris piled together in a broken mess. Dust swirled, filling the entire room, only to be swept away by a sudden, cooling breeze.

Yun Wuxiang lowered his hand from the spell and looked at the thing that had fallen through the roof.

“Guanzhu, I’m back~” Song Yilou stood atop the shattered roof, spreading his arms to pounce toward Yun Wuxiang. He was met head-on by three Cleansing Spells before he was finally allowed to hug the man.

Yun Wuxiang lifted a strand of his hair. The already curly ends were now a tangled mess of frizz. Upon touching it, a lingering, scorching heat remained. “How did this happen?”.

“A fire-breathing dog bit me.” Song Yilou lifted his hand, revealing a horn and a fang. He showed them to Yun Wuxiang. “Look, Guanzhu! My spoils of war!”.

Yun Wuxiang took the trophies to examine the material. Song Yilou had high standards; he wouldn’t bring back ordinary things to show him.

Song Yilou, meanwhile, discovered the two people hovering by the door. After his gaze shifted between them, he spoke. “Mo Yang had a daughter?”.

Mo Yang explained seriously, “Do not speak nonsense. Xiao Yu and I have no blood relation”.

“Even though I’d like an elder like Uncle Mo, we don’t look alike at all.” The girl’s tone held a hint of regret; her intention to change her father was quite obvious.

Song Yilou ignored them, having a sudden whim. “Guanzhu, do you want a child? It is said that affectionate Daoist companions want to have a child together”.

As he spoke, his eyes drifted toward Yun Wuxiang’s stomach.

No, a child would have to stay in the mother’s body for a long time. How could he let anything else stay inside the Guanzhu’s body?.

Even if it was his own child, it wasn’t allowed.

Yun Wuxiang was attempting to carve an array onto the beast horn. Hearing this, he glanced at Song Yilou’s lower abdomen. “Can you give birth?”.

“Yes! I can even be the one to give birth. That way, no one else will have ever entered the Guanzhu’s body.” Song Yilou smiled brilliantly.

Yun Wuxiang had only asked a casual rhetorical question; he hadn’t expected Song Yilou to actually intend to give birth.

His and Song Yilou’s child?.

The offspring of a Gu ghost and a Heart Demon.

What kind of creature would that be? Would it be easy to raise? Likely not, considering even Song Yilou was a handful.

Moreover….

“Are you sure you wouldn’t poison the child and throw him somewhere out of my sight to fend for himself?”.

Yun Wuxiang’s self-awareness was clear; he was not suitable to be a father, nor did he have any intention of being responsible for another life. With Song Yilou around, his life was already lively enough.

Song Yilou as a father? Yun Wuxiang couldn’t quite imagine the scene. For the child, it would likely be a disaster.

Song Yilou, who had been touching his own stomach, dropped his hand. “One cannot Shuangxiu during pregnancy. We cannot have this child”.

His phrasing gave Yun Wuxiang a momentary illusion—as if Song Yilou were already pregnant and intended to have an abortion just so it wouldn’t interfere with their Shuangxiu.

A tiger does not eat its cubs, but Song Yilou might actually be capable of such a thing.

Mo Yang and Xiao Yu both felt they were a bit redundant at this moment. Mo Yang bid farewell once more. “Guanzhu, I shall take my leave”.

Yun Wuxiang waved them off. Only after their figures had completely vanished did he ask, “Is the Gu planted?”.

“Ah, I really don’t want to save him. Is this idiot really the reincarnation of a Daozun? Shen Lanqing and Liu Zhu aren’t nearly as stupid as he is”.

A scorpion crawled onto the back of Song Yilou’s hand. Its tail traced an arc in the air, seemingly reflecting the mocking smile at the corner of Song Yilou’s mouth.

Yun Wuxiang: “He trusts his sect deeply. Unfortunately, his sect may not live up to that trust”.

Otherwise, Jin Hongqi wouldn’t have constantly hoped for him to leave the sect. But some people were stubborn mules who wouldn’t turn back until they hit the wall. In that case, let him hit the southern wall himself; once he was dazed, they could pick him up.

Yun Wuxiang flicked his sleeve, his black robes fluttering as the debris on the floor was swept away. “Go fix the roof”.

“Aiya, Guanzhu, don’t you think it’s very convenient to look at the sky like this?” Song Yilou spread his arms, standing with his head tilted back in the pillar of light leaking through the hole in the roof.

“Why would I want to look at the sky from inside the house? It will rain tonight. If rain appears in the room, you can go sleep outside. Dark and damp—isn’t that the environment you like?”.

“I prefer the Guanzhu’s bed now”.

A violent roar in the distance interrupted their conversation.

Yun Wuxiang walked out the door, watching as rolling flames erupted from below. A terrifying temperature carried on the wind; even across several mountain peaks, that heat was palpable.

That wasn’t the main point.

Amidst the towering flames, a crimson giant beast roared toward the sky. One of the long horns on its head was broken, and blood like molten lava poured from the wound, flowing downward.

Looking closer, one could see lava dripping from its mouth as well.

Yun Wuxiang lifted the horn in his hand. Through the perspective of distance, he aligned the horn with the wound on the beast’s head; the puzzle pieces fit perfectly.

The distant fire beast seemed to sense a part of its own body, casting a fierce look in their direction.

Now he knew how Song Yilou’s hair had turned into a tangled mess.

“Hold on to your spoils.” Yun Wuxiang handed the horn and tooth back to Song Yilou.

Surprisingly, after glaring this way, the fire beast began to run in another direction.

Yun Wuxiang watched the direction of its path and said uncertainly, “Mo Yang went that way just now, didn’t he?”.

“It seems so. What a coincidence~” Song Yilou offered a fake exclamation of surprise.

Yun Wuxiang took the tooth and horn back from him. “What deal did you make with that fire beast?”.

He was certain the beast had looked this way but hadn’t rushed over for revenge, instead running elsewhere. It was clearly avoiding them on purpose.

The only one here who could have had contact with it was Song Yilou.

“I helped it undo a dog leash.” Song Yilou grinned, his eyes filled with a malicious excitement that wished for chaos.

“Now, Qiu Ming Mountain will have some fun to watch”.

Yun Wuxiang: “Mhm”.

Under Bai Jiao’s instruction, they had smuggled themselves into the Immortal Realm through a gap between realms without alerting any local authorities.

Then, they encountered their first group of Immortal Realm locals—a bunch of idiots looking for death.

“Don’t you know this is my Qiu Ming Mountain’s territory? You two smugglers don’t have a passage permit. From now on, you are my slaves. Give me—”.

The threat was cut short forever. To make such a suicidal declaration, his end was entirely worthy of his recklessness and ignorance.

Song Yilou stepped on the man’s head, grinding it into the dirt. Amidst the “cannon fodder” style threats and terrified cries of the other Qiu Ming Mountain disciples, he rubbed his ear and turned back to smile brilliantly at Yun Wuxiang. “Guanzhu, there’s an ugly monster making noise in my ear”.

“Then make them quiet.” As Yun Wuxiang spoke, an array manifested beneath his feet. The disciples instantly lost their voices; their mouths opened and closed, but no sound came out, as if they were performing a pantomime.

Back in the present, other than the fellow Song Yilou had buried in the ground to serve as Gu food, the remaining disciples had become the Tower Spirit’s slaves.

“What?!” The angry Tower Spirit popped out, a tiny figure floating in the air and roaring.

“What if that Fire Kirin destroys the spiritual vein terrain? Within a thousand-mile radius, only the land where Qiu Ming Mountain is located is suitable for constructing the Hidden Heaven Grand Array!”.

“If the array cannot be finished, how will Jin Hongqi cross his tribulation once he comes out? Are the two of you, at the Earth grade, going to hold off the entire Immortal Realm’s Heaven Immortals and Immortal Lords?”.

The Tower Spirit was furious. It had worked tirelessly, commanding a group of “wooden-headed” idiots to forge the array components, yet these two were still dragging their feet!.

Who exactly was the master of Qingdi Guan?!.

“Guanzhu, you too! It’s one thing for Song Yilou to be unreasonable, but how can you indulge him like this!”.

Yun Wuxiang: “He is my Daoist companion. It is only right that I indulge him”.

The Tower Spirit was enraged. “You…!”.

Song Yilou whispered ethereally, “Guanzhu, the Love Gu died again”.

Tower Spirit: “…” The anger progress bar was interrupted.

The tiny figure in the purple Daoist robe looked left, then right. Finally, he floated to Song Yilou’s ear and patted it with his small hand. “Don’t lose heart. In the Guanzhu’s future illusion of desire, the companion that appeared was you. There is still a marriage line between you; it’s just that his ‘threads of emotion’ grow slowly. Persist, and one day you’ll grow one successfully”.

“That beast is a Fire Kirin? It looks a bit different from the legends.” Yun Wuxiang watched the fire beast being besieged by cultivators in the distance.

Song Yilou didn’t care about Fire Kirins; he only cared about his Love Gu. “Guanzhu, are you changing the subject?”.

Yun Wuxiang continued to gaze into the distance. “There is no rush regarding the Love Gu”.

“It is very urgent,” Song Yilou emphasized.

Tower Spirit: “Guanzhu, you must face your own heart. Also, once your threads of emotion grow, you must cross the illusion array again. Your previous clearance was purely taking advantage of a loophole!”.

“For the sake of Tianqing Daozun and Jiangzi Daozun, I shall help you for a while. But to become my true master, you must perfectly and correctly pass the test left by Mishu Daozun…”.

Song Yilou: “Guanzhu, you said you needed to make preparations. When will you be ready? Is this emotion you completed through preparation really yours? Borrowing from others won’t do…”.

Yun Wuxiang: “…”.

So noisy. He wanted to use a Silence Array.

Maybe he should just seal his own hearing first.

“Guanzhu!”.

A sword light shot toward them. The recently departed Mo Yang arrived on his sword with Xiao Yu, followed immediately by a spray of blood.

“Senior Mo!” Xiao Yu jumped off the sword, supporting Mo Yang with worry.

Mo Yang’s mouth was full of blood. With a face of suppressed pain and embarrassment, he said, “Cough, cough… I must ask you to take me and Xiao Yu in for a little longer”.

Yun Wuxiang looked at his singed hair and his scorched, tattered clothes, then glanced at the wound. He confirmed the Tower Spirit was right; that fire beast was indeed a Kirin.

And this unlucky sword cultivator had just happened to run into that Fire Kirin and even fought with it.

“However, a Kirin is a divine beast of heaven and earth. Being injured by one leads to a curse. Since a Fire Kirin injured you, the manifestation of the curse is fire poison. If the fire poison isn’t extracted, the injury will never heal”.

“That scruffy dog is a Fire Kirin?” Mo Yang looked incredulous. “Where does it look like a Kirin?”.

“Its strength and flames—your injury is the best proof.” Yun Wuxiang retrieved a piece of Cold Wood and tossed it to Xiao Yu. “Place this on the wound; it can alleviate the fire poison”.

“Many thanks, Guanzhu… hiss!” Mo Yang was jolted by the Cold Wood’s chill. After the initial sharp pain, the burning sensation in the wound eased.

Yun Wuxiang: “Don’t be in a hurry to thank me. Cold Wood can only alleviate; it cannot break the curse. There are three ways to resolve a Kirin’s curse”.

“It voluntarily breaks the curse for you”.

“Another Kirin bestows a blessing upon you”.

“Or a cultivator two major realms higher than that Fire Kirin is willing to expend their cultivation to help you siphon away the fire poison”.

Once the three methods were spoken, Mo Yang’s world turned gray. “Are these really the only three ways?”.

He had just fought the Fire Kirin; how could it possibly volunteer to break the curse.

Kirins hadn’t appeared for thousands of years; Mo Yang had only seen this one in his entire life. Where would he find a second?.

As for the third method, the Guanzhu could probably do it, but they were not related. Since he had no intention of joining Qingdi Guan, he couldn’t continue to trouble the Guanzhu—otherwise, how would he ever repay such a debt?.

The Tower Spirit provided an even more distant solution. “If a Daozun took action, what would a mere Kirin curse matter?”.

Mo Yang seemed to see hope in that path. “Correct! As long as I continue to cultivate, one day I will be able to completely suppress the curse!”.

Yun Wuxiang poured a bucket of cold water over him. “With a Kirin curse on you, your success rate of crossing a tribulation drops by thirty percent”.

Mo Yang gripped his sword in silence.

“Cold Wood can help you suppress the fire poison for a time. For the sake of our sect’s disciple, Jin Hongqi, I shall gift this to you”.

Yun Wuxiang: “Next time, think clearly before you come looking for me”.

He would not endlessly help an unrelated outsider for free.

Next time he helped Mo Yang, there would only be one possibility: the man had joined Qingdi Guan and become a disciple under his sect.
