Chapter 36: The Envelope
On the snow-white, oversized bed, Bai Qi was still quietly asleep.
He wasn’t covered by a blanket, curled up on the bed like a small kitten lying on his side. The hem of his shirt was slightly lifted at one corner, and the overwhelming sunlight fell upon that patch of lily-white skin, making him look like a meticulously crafted glazed white doll.
Bai Qi had always been a light sleeper; even the slightest sound would wake him. However, the person who entered moved far too lightly, stepping soundlessly upon the soft carpet.
It wasn’t until a hand braced against the headboard and a shadow fell over him that the person leaned down to look at him.
As if sensing something, Bai Qi’s red lips murmured unconsciously. The soft flesh of his lips was somewhat translucent, a ripe plum-red blooming from beneath the skin.
One look was enough to tell they were very sweet and fragrant.
The breathing in the room grew slightly heavy, and those thin, pale lips couldn’t help but press down.
As the two sets of soft lips touched, it felt as though a weak electric current passed through them; both of their breaths hitched.
The sudden stimulation caused Bai Qi to let out a whimper. He subconsciously opened his eyes, only to see Bo Yan’s magnified, handsome face. His thin eyelids were lowered; he looked so cold and detached, yet his actions were utterly excessive, invading the moment Bai Qi opened his mouth.
Bai Qi’s scalp went numb from the friction. He couldn’t control himself as he arched his neck, pinned into the large bed to endure the kiss.
His slender, white fingertips gripped the bedding tightly, the tips gradually turning a flush red.
No matter how many times he experienced it, such a lingering kiss always made his heart race and his face flush, making him feel increasingly sensitive.
After an unknown amount of time, Bai Qi was finally released, sitting up while panting.
His mouth was bright red. Once he regained his senses, he was shocked. He hurriedly pushed the other man away, his voice urgent and lowered to a whisper: “My mother is still downstairs.”
Bo Yan’s broad shoulders didn’t budge an inch. His handsome face was filled with infatuation, and he braced his body as if wanting to kiss him again. “Mother can’t hear us.”
Bai Qi pursed his lips and retreated to the corner of the bed. After a thought, he suddenly smiled and pushed him away with both hands. “Who says she can’t hear? If you come over again, I’ll call for Mom.”
Bo Yan’s movements indeed stopped.
Bai Qi finally had a way to stabilize him. His mood relaxed considerably, and he even felt like living here with his mother forever.
He pushed against Bo Yan’s sharp shoulder blades, guiding him toward the door. “Shh, be quieter when you go out.”
He lightheartedly moved to open the door, but in the next moment, he was scooped up by Bo Yan, who pulled off his pajama pants. Two snow-white legs were instantly exposed to the air.
Bai Qi’s face turned crimson with shame. He nearly cried out in surprise, but Bo Yan kissed him just in time to block his voice. Then, the pajama pants were tossed far away.
Bo Yan gave him several heavy, wet kisses and flicked his eyes up to look at him. “If you have the nerve to call her, then go ahead.”
How… how could he be so shameless?
In his current state, how could Bai Qi have the face to call his mother over? His face was so red he didn’t know where to hide. He covered Bo Yan’s eyes as he was carried back to the bed, so angry that he reached out to strip Bo Yan’s clothes in retaliation.
It was just a casual tug, but unexpectedly, Bo Yan didn’t offer the slightest resistance. He even cooperated as Bai Qi removed his shirt. Cold-white muscles suddenly appeared before him—broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Bo Yan’s narrow eyes squinted slightly, his entire body radiating irrational pheromones.
Unlike Bai Qi’s pinkish hue, the color on Bo Yan’s body was a deep red, like decadent red plums in a field of snow.
Bai Qi was caught off guard and faced him directly; he felt as if his entire body was about to burn up. He shamefully ran off the bed to pick up his pants, not daring to look back even once.
He hurriedly pulled on his pants. In his haste, the edge of his underwear rolled up slightly, unable to cover the white “peach meat.” As he moved, it trembled slightly as if it were about to overflow, like fruit that had just ripened and was waiting to be plucked.
Bo Yan almost couldn’t stop himself from chasing after him.
Ultimately, out of consideration for the mother downstairs, Bo Yan pinched the bridge of his nose heavily. He stood up and went into the bathroom in Bai Qi’s room to take a shower.
Once that perfectly lined, beautiful body disappeared from his sight, Bai Qi finally breathed a sigh of relief.
However, his mind was filled with how Bo Yan looked just now. He clearly hadn’t dared to look, yet he found himself unconsciously replaying it over and over.
Bai Qi shook his head vigorously, his fine hair becoming a messy fluff.
Just as he was about to tidy the bedding, Bo Yan suddenly spoke: “Qiqi, could you help me go to my room and get a change of clothes?”
Separated by a door, his voice sounded a bit muffled.
Bai Qi agreed and obediently prepared to help him get them.
On the way, he felt a bit dejected.
He only just realized that Bo Yan had showered in his room; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so much trouble. He didn’t know how long Bo Yan planned to stay after finishing.
If he weren’t afraid that Bo Yan would take the opportunity to bully him, he would have told him to just come out naked and go back to his own room to dress.
Bai Qi sighed, walked to the door, and cautiously opened a crack to look outside. Seeing no sign of his mother, he felt relieved enough to head out.
The door to Bo Yan’s room across the hall was tightly shut. Bai Qi had never seen what his room looked like. He pushed the door open out of curiosity, and what met his eyes was a sea of black.
The curtains, bed, furniture, and floor tiles—everything was gray or black. The layout was identical to Bai Qi’s room, yet the colors were completely opposite.
He entered the room in surprise and discovered that the trees planted outside this side were lush and leafy, blocking the sunlight layer by layer. It felt as if he had stepped from day into night in an instant; the sensation was quite wondrous.
After looking around for a moment, Bai Qi turned on the light and moved softly to rummage through the clothes.
As a star, Bo Yan had a massive amount of clothing. Even though this was a room he didn’t stay in often, it was stocked with all kinds of clothes, all organized neatly.
Bai Qi grabbed a set of black pajamas like the ones Bo Yan wore when he arrived, then quickly grabbed a pair of underwear and rolled it inside. Fearing his mother might suddenly come up, he walked out in a hurry.
Because of his hurried pace, he accidentally kicked a drawer by the bedside.
The drawer slid open with a shink. Bai Qi looked down, intending to close it, but once he did, his eyes were met with a drawer full of black envelopes.
It was an incredibly long row of drawers, filled with envelopes standing neatly in rows. Each one was black with gold-foiled edges. Aside from lacking a wax seal, they were identical to the love letters Bo Yan had written him.
Bai Qi stared blankly; there had to be several hundred of them.
What was he planning to do?
Were they gifts from fans? Or did he write them himself?
His grip on the pajamas tightened unconsciously. Bai Qi took a deep breath, suddenly feeling an impulse to open one and see.
Could they be related to him?
However, reason told him that even if the other person was someone very close, he couldn’t just look at their letters.
Bai Qi closed his eyes. In the end, his obedient nature won out. He softly pushed the drawer back into its original position and hurried back to his room.
He remained cautious as he exited. He carefully pushed open the door crack to look, only to see his mother’s back.
She was very close, just a few steps away, preparing to knock on Bai Qi’s door.
The sound of the door opening behind her caused Mother Bai to instinctively turn around. Then, the two of them stared at each other.
Bai Qi’s current image was a bit of a mess. He was sneaking out of Bo Yan’s room, holding a set of pajamas that clearly wasn’t his size.
“You are…?” Mother Bai was puzzled.
Bai Qi already wanted to sink into a crack in the floor.
He had always been honest and didn’t know how to lie, let alone how guilty he felt now. He was terrified of his mother finding out about such an embarrassing matter.
Fortunately, Bo Yan stepped out of the room at that moment. His black hair was soaking wet, and he was wearing a set of white pajamas identical to Bai Qi’s.
“Hello, Auntie Bai,” he said as he took the clothes from Bai Qi’s hand. “Qiqi and I just swapped rooms. He was helping me get my clothes.”
Bo Yan didn’t blush at all while lying. His expression remained calm and composed throughout, as if he were merely stating a fact.
For the first time, Bai Qi was grateful for Bo Yan’s acting skills.
Mother Bai nodded, without a shred of suspicion. She chatted with him with a smile for a few moments before turning to ask Bai Qi.
“I’m planning to go to your cousin’s house to pay back the money. Are you coming along?”
Bai Qi thought for a moment, his gaze involuntarily drifting behind his mother.
Bo Yan was brushing his wet black hair back, his eyelids lifted as he stared straight at Bai Qi, making no effort to hide the desire in his eyes.
Bai Qi felt a bit intimidated.
He really wanted to go; it would be the perfect way to escape Bo Yan, who was currently in a “dangerous” state.
However, if he went, Bo Yan would surely want to go too. Forcing Bo Yan to go out in this state would be too hard on him.
After thinking it over, Bai Qi shook his head. “I won’t go. I want to take a nap.”
Mother Bai nodded in agreement. “Alright, it’s fine not to go. It saves you from hearing your aunt’s nagging.”
She was in a great mood. She was about to pay off the debt. Even if using this money made her feel a bit uneasy, she would never have to feel inferior to those relatives again.
Soon, Mother Bai went downstairs.
Bo Yan’s tall frame pressed in, embracing Bai Qi’s tender body. His voice carried a hint of joy: “Qiqi, are you staying behind to keep me company?”
Bai Qi nodded obediently. Feeling a bit afraid, he shifted his belly to the side and pointed at him.
Bo Yan laughed.
His brow was full of restless heat, but for once, he didn’t pester Bai Qi. Instead, he pulled him into the room to talk business.
“A program just reached out to us. You should have received a notification on your end as well.”
Bai Qi picked up his phone in surprise. Sure enough, a production team had contacted him. It was a live-streamed interview show where they would be asked some questions, play some small games, and interact with the live audience.
This live-streamed program was very short—only half an hour—but its popularity was always high. The production team mentioned that the fans online were calling for them, so they wanted him and Bo Yan to appear on this episode together.
The message also specified the compensation: a full 500,000 Yuan.
Bai Qi almost thought he had miscounted the zeros. He checked it several times. It felt as if the blood in his entire body was accelerating, and his cheeks began to feel hot.
He was a bit pathetic; once again, his heart couldn’t help but throb at the offer.
Earning money himself was different from Bo Yan giving it to him.
He felt a spark of anticipation. Perhaps with this money, he could also buy some gifts for Bo Yan.
