THE TOP STAR’S SECRET LOVE CONFESSION CHAPTER 42

Chapter 42: Refreshing

Bai Qi was stunned.

He opened his eyes and met Bo Yan’s gaze, which was filled with hope and apprehension. The thick emotion within was scaldingly hot.

He hadn’t known Bo Yan cared so much about this.

They should have gone public earlier. If he had known, he would have brought it up himself instead of letting Bo Yan ask so tentatively.

His heart felt a bit scorched and aching. Bai Qi gazed into Bo Yan’s deep-set eyes and nodded seriously: “We’ll go public tonight.”

Seeing the sudden surprise and disbelief in Bo Yan’s eyes, Bai Qi felt even more that he had made him feel insecure.

His heart skipped a beat. Recalling some words he had seen online, he endured the shame and whispered, “Hubby, let’s date officially, okay?”

These words were like an explosion in Bo Yan’s ears. He was stunned for a long time, and when he finally processed it, his eyes turned red, and his voice became extremely raspy.

“Okay.”

“Wife.”

After uttering those two words, Bo Yan was like a mad dog that had finally gotten its wish. He was so excited that the veins all over his body bulged. His cold and aloof brows completely surrendered, and he pressed down on Bai Qi, kissing and rubbing against him wildly, wishing he could just knead the person into his own flesh and blood and never be apart.

The narrow space felt increasingly crowded due to his movements. As his tall body pressed down, Bai Qi no longer felt any fear. Instead, he hugged him back with even more heartache.

He couldn’t hide, he couldn’t run away. He had to give him a sense of security and get used to being intimate with him.

And then Bai Qi was in trouble.

Such cooperation made Bo Yan even more excited. By the end, Bai Qi’s jacket had been tossed aside at some point, his thin sweatshirt was a mess, his pants were halfway off, and the smooth skin inside was covered in red and white patches.

Fortunately, Bo Yan still remembered they were in a car. Upon hearing footsteps in the distance, he regained his senses and covered Bai Qi with a quilt. His pale wrist reached into the quilt to help him straighten his clothes.

Bai Qi’s face was already deep red.

His legs were incredibly numb. He buried his face in the pillow out of embarrassment, but Bo Yan refused to leave even after dressing him. He insisted on hearing him say it one more time before he would go drive.

Bai Qi was worn down and had no choice. With a red face, he whispered “hubby” once more. His voice was trembling and thin due to the stimulation just now, and the lingering tone made Bo Yan feel like he was going crazy again. He couldn’t help but bury his head and kiss him.

It took a long time before Bo Yan finally went to the front to drive, satisfied.

Bai Qi collapsed weakly on the small bed. He was starting to worry about the gift-giving process later. Luckily, his mother was still home, so Bo Yan shouldn’t go too far.

Soon, the two arrived home, and Uncle Li also brought Zhang Shen’ao out.

After being tied up for so long, Zhang Shen’ao was currently more disheveled than ever. His originally neat leather jacket had become tattered, his entire face was flushed with anger, and his eyes were completely bloodshot.

Even when he went bankrupt and ended up in prison years ago, he hadn’t been this pathetic.

What a good son. Truly the seed of that slut. I should have strangled him back then.

He didn’t dare look at Bo Yan, but his eyes were filled with hatred as he glared viciously at Bai Qi.

However, this only made Bo Yan’s gaze colder. He signaled Uncle Li to pin him to the ground, then personally went upstairs to invite Mother Bai down.

Mother Bai was still confused when she came down, not knowing why they were asking her to come downstairs at this time. It wasn’t even dinner time yet.

However, all her confusion vanished when she saw the person squatting in the living room.

Mother Bai’s thin body trembled uncontrollably, and she was stunned for a long time.

Bai Qi was a bit worried about his mother’s mental state. She had been too suppressed all these years and never mentioned Zhang Shen’ao. He was afraid something might happen if they met suddenly.

Just as he was about to help her back to her room, he saw his mother suddenly rush forward with agile movements and deliver several heavy slaps to Zhang Shen’ao’s face.

The crisp slapping sounds echoed through the villa. The force was so great that even Zhang Shen’ao was dazed, and both sides of his face visibly swelled up.

Even Uncle Li was stunned by her decisiveness.

Mother Bai cried as she slapped him, yet she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to laugh.

She knew he cared about his dignity, so she specifically aimed for his face. This venting allowed her to feel a bone-deep sense of gratification.

After being beaten for so many years, and seeing Xiao Qi suffer for so many years along with her, it was finally time to pay him back today.

She should have paid him back long ago; she had been too weak in the past.

Having been ill for years, her face had been somewhat pale, but now she grew more spirited the more she hit him, her face glowing with health and energy.

As for Zhang Shen’ao, being publicly humiliated like this by a woman he had always looked down upon and being unable to fight back, he was so angry he was about to faint.

Watching from the side, Bai Qi also clenched his fists, his eyes bright with excitement.

Since he was a child, he had always seen his father beating his mother. In the past, when he tried to block the blows, he was too weak, so it became both mother and son getting beaten together. Now, things were finally reversed.

The gloom pressed deep in his heart was swept away at this moment, and his entire body felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

This outburst also made Mother Bai’s sickly body much stronger, and a large part of the knot in her heart for many years was untied.

She could guess what was going on and soon looked toward Bo Yan with a smile, her eyes filled with unprecedented trust.

“It’s all thanks to you, child. I’m very relieved to leave Xiao Qi to you.”

The sudden praise caused even the usually cold Bo Yan to soften. He stood tall and made a serious promise: “Mother, I will definitely protect Qiqi well.”

Mother Bai was truly satisfied this time.

Afterward, Uncle Li took the evidence and prepared to take Zhang Shen’ao away. Mother Bai went out with them to witness the scene.

She said cheerfully, “I won’t be back tonight. I’ll stay at the old house for a day.”

Having finally gotten rid of that scumbag, she had to celebrate.

So, very soon, only Bai Qi and Bo Yan were left at home.

They went upstairs side by side. Bai Qi was still thinking about giving the gift. His own room was too white and sunny, not suitable for the dark and rainy atmosphere of their first meeting. Bo Yan’s room, however, was very appropriate.

So, he used the excuse of wanting to experience Bo Yan’s bathroom, went in with the large bag, and quickly shut Bo Yan out as if it were nothing.

Bai Qi really didn’t know how to lie. His mysterious behavior and the way he looked around made it obvious that something was up.

Outside the door, Bo Yan raised an eyebrow, smiled, and turned into Bai Qi’s room to take a shower.

It had to be said that Bo Yan’s room was indeed very dark. The overall color scheme was gray and black. Nothing needed to be changed to have the feeling of the night they first met.

Bai Qi looked around with satisfaction, put down the bag, and went to the bathroom to shower first. The places that had touched Zhang Shen’ao felt very uncomfortable, as if there was still a smell of smoke.

The flowing water washed away all the unpleasant things. As Bai Qi washed, he noticed the mottled marks on his legs, looking as if they had been poked at randomly.

He was incredibly embarrassed and washed himself haphazardly. The thought of Bo Yan…

If it had been before, he might have been timid and wanted to retreat, but now, more than the fluttering of his heart, he wanted to make up for the regret the two of them had missed out on back then. He would treat it as meeting for the first time again.

This time, he would listen carefully and no longer miss out on anything related to Bo Yan.
