THE TOP STAR’S SECRET LOVE CONFESSION CHAPTER 48

Chapter 48: Heart-to-Heart

These facts truly overturned Bai Qi’s perception.

He listened blankly, his body somewhat stiff. He couldn’t imagine what Bo Yan’s state of mind was at that time.

His own father wanted to kill his mother… Just hearing it made his skin crawl.

Bo Yan was only a freshman back then. He had to face all of this alone—arranging his father’s funeral, treating his mother’s illness, and dropping out of school to fight for a place in the entertainment industry.

According to Bo’s Mother, Bo Yan didn’t take a single cent from his father. Everything he had now, he earned himself.

Thinking of the fierce and lonely appearance of Bo Yan standing in the rainy night when they first met, Bai Qi’s heart ached intensely. His eyes grew redder and redder.

At the time when Bo Yan was most helpless and in need of comfort, he hadn’t even replied to the love letter and had even burdened him with debt.

Whether intentional or not, the result was adding insult to injury. Was Bo Yan not mentioning this because he was afraid Bai Qi would feel bad?

Meanwhile, Bo’s Mother spoke with regret. It was her weakness and indecisiveness that had hindered her son. Fortunately, Yan’er didn’t take after that beast and had managed to pursue such an excellent boyfriend himself.

She shouldn’t have doubted her son’s behavior before; he must hate that kind of conduct most of all.

Amidst her guilt, she couldn’t help but tell Bai Qi many more stories of Bo Yan’s childhood. The two talked in the room for a long time.

Outside, Bo Yan had been waiting in the hallway.

The villa’s soundproofing was excellent, so he couldn’t hear what was being said inside. But since they had been in there for so long, his mother might have told Qiqi about his past.

His brow was tightly knit. He regretted not giving his mother a heads-up to not mention those dark matters.

He didn’t want Qiqi to know he was so cold-blooded.

An uncontrollable anxiety and panic surged in his heart. He rubbed his brow tiredly and lowered his head in silence.

His tall frame was like a drawn bow, suppressed to the absolute limit.

After an unknown amount of time, the door opened quietly.

Bai Qi came out with red eyes. His thin neck and shoulder bones looked very fragile; one could tell at a glance he had been crying.

As soon as he looked up, he saw Bo Yan standing in the hallway.

Bo Yan was leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. His usually tall and steady frame looked a bit exhausted right now.

For some reason, the current Bo Yan gradually overlapped with the fierce Bo Yan from that rainy night.

Bai Qi’s heart ached even more. He couldn’t help but cry as he lunged forward. The sound of his chaotic footsteps made Bo Yan snap his head up. The sight of the tear-filled, red eyes made his brow twitch violently.

He instinctively pulled his weeping lover into his arms. For the first time, his expression was filled with panic, and the bones on the back of his hand protruded.

Before he could speak, Bai Qi choked out: “Thank you for your hard work.”

The completely unexpected words left Bo Yan stunned.

He didn’t react for a long while; even his heartbeat slowed.

Bai Qi was filled with emotion and self-reproach. He couldn’t help but say impulsively: “I’ll listen to you for everything from now on.”

These words made Bo Yan instinctively ask: “Really?”

As he spoke, he instinctively applied a bit of force.

Bai Qi stammered for a moment, yet he still nodded.

Compared to what Bo Yan had done, what he could do was negligible. Bo Yan had suffered so much in the previous two years; Bai Qi felt he shouldn’t be so calculating with him anymore.

However, Bo Yan didn’t agree.

He let out a short laugh. His deep, cold voice made his chest vibrate: “It sounds so tempting.”

“But I didn’t do those things to bully you. Just being able to be with you makes me very happy.”

Such rare, heartfelt words moved Bai Qi to a complete mess.

He nodded obediently. Just as he was about to move out of Bo Yan’s arms, the back of his head was held down by Bo Yan.

A lowered voice spoke into his ear: “If you really must follow my lead, can you let me have a few more rounds tonight?”

The directness of the words was quite a shock. Bai Qi instantly stopped crying. He instinctively jumped back out of the embrace. Just then, Mother Bai came upstairs.

Fortunately, Bai Qi’s tears had all been wiped onto Bo Yan’s clothes. Aside from being red, his eyes showed nothing out of the ordinary.

Mother Bai said the island’s hot springs were very famous. she wanted to go soak with Bo’s Mother and asked if the two of them wanted to go.

The two best friends were going to soak; Bai Qi and Bo Yan both shook their heads and didn’t disturb them. Instead, they decided to go for a stroll on the beach together.

The hot springs were in the opposite direction of the beach. The group went downstairs together. Soon, Mother Bai and Bo’s Mother turned to leave. Bai Qi also took Bo Yan’s hand and walked out happily.

But he couldn’t even take a step out before Bo Yan, almost impatiently, pinched Bai Qi’s cheek and kissed him.

Bai Qi’s eyes widened. His mother and the others could turn around at any moment. It would be too embarrassing if they were seen.

The shame in his heart and the stimulation on his body made his face turn redder and redder. He stared nervously in that direction.

Yet Bo Yan’s kiss was too intense. His tall body turned to block everything. Bai Qi’s vision soon blurred, and he was forced to surrender.

After an unknown amount of time, Bo Yan finally released the soft youth in his arms. By this time, the two parents were long gone.

“Sorry, I couldn’t hold back just now.”

Bo Yan’s breathing was messy. He looked down at Bai Qi’s bright red, tender lips and couldn’t help but take another kiss.

“It wasn’t convenient to say just now, but I’m really happy that you didn’t reject me because of those things.”

“Shall we go swimming in the sea?”

The sudden words at the end made Bai Qi pause. He looked up to see the overwhelming longing and expectation in Bo Yan’s eyes.

Bai Qi nodded dazedly: “Okay.”
