Chapter 44: What Exactly Happened?
“Found it,” Liang Yuhang said.
“Daddy…”
“Call me by my name, Mu Feng. You can’t call me ‘Daddy.'”
“Liang Yuhang…” Mu Feng’s damp eyes were covered by the other man’s left hand, leaving him unable to see anything. “Liang Yuhang, Liang Yuhang, Liang Yuhang…”
He became very obedient.
Liang Yuhang was finally satisfied.
Because his body was too weak, Mu Feng fainted, his brain sinking into a heavy muddle.
“Forget about it,” Liang Yuhang whispered, looking at his sleeping face.
He remained calm, as if he had just finished a surgical procedure. He turned into the bathroom to wash and dry his hands.
Ultimately, he couldn’t resist a final evaluation: “Slutty.”
Mu Feng suspected he had a long-overdue dream. In the dream, Liang Yuhang was still fierce, but he was different from usual.
As for how exactly he was different, he couldn’t quite say.
A certain place felt a dull ache.
He sat up from the bed and raised a hand to touch his forehead; the fever had already broken.
“Teacher Liang,” Mu Feng called out before he even saw anyone, starting his search before he even pulled the door open. However, just as he reached the doorway, he discovered a circle of people sitting in the living room.
There were those he recognized and those he didn’t.
The ones he knew were Mu Mingde and Mu Shan. The one he didn’t know was a man who looked like a powerful superior with an incredibly strong aura.
“I think I walked onto the wrong set.” Mu Feng’s eyes met Liang Yuhang’s on the sofa, and he felt a bit at a loss.
He guessed it. This was a case of both sets of parents coming to the door to demand an explanation.
Liang Yuhang tilted his chin toward him. “Mu Feng, go back inside first.”
“He caused the trouble; how can this be handled if he isn’t present?” Liang Zhaoqing spoke up. “Jingyi is still lying in the hospital.”
Mu Feng fell silent, fidgeting awkwardly.
Liang Zhaoqing continued, “First of all, the drugging was done by your own family. You sent the person to Jingyi and then stabbed him. What did Jingyi do wrong?”
“Yes, it was our lack of discipline.” Mu Mingde’s face was severely grim. “It is definitely Mu Feng’s fault.”
“Is it not Mu Shan who was at fault first?” Liang Yuhang calmly raised his eyes. “If he hadn’t made the first move, none of what followed would have happened. If you want to talk about a lack of discipline, it’s true, but you’ve disciplined the wrong person.”
Mu Mingde: “…”
Mu Shan said stubbornly, “Who said I was the one who drugged him? Who has proof? Stop slandering an innocent man. Maybe he wanted to hook up with someone himself and made preparations before coming.”
Mu Feng became nervous again. Yesterday, he had been too panicked and didn’t have time to preserve the teacup. In fact, even if he had preserved it, it wouldn’t have mattered; his second brother definitely wouldn’t have done it personally.
This matter, just like when he was framed before, seemed to have no solution.
“There is indeed no evidence of the drugging,” Liang Yuhang said. “But did you know there’s a high tower nearby that just happens to be able to film the corridor?”
Mu Shan’s expression changed slightly. “So what?”
“It captured the process of you taking the unconscious Mu Feng to the third floor.” Liang Yuhang smiled faintly. “The surveillance in the house has all been deleted, hasn’t it? You thought it was flawless.”
Mu Shan continued to defend himself, “I saw he wasn’t feeling well and took him to rest. I just sent him to the wrong room.”
“I recorded it.” Mu Feng slid open his phone. He clicked it, and the conversation from the bathroom played out.
[“Tonight is your lucky night.”]
[“Acting as his wife, you can finally be of some use.”]
[“A plaything should act like a plaything.”]
It was clearly Mu Shan’s voice.
Mu Feng looked at him and said with a calm face, “I’m sorry. Ever since I was thirteen, I’ve had this habit every time I face you. I’m most afraid of being framed again.”
Mu Shan was speechless.
Mu Mingde stepped in to smooth things over. “This is our family matter. Now we need to think about how to compensate Second Young Master Liang.”
“I’ll say the same thing as before,” Liang Zhaoqing said, wanting to regain some face for Liang Jingyi. “First, there must be a public apology. Mu Feng is still a student, and that includes a school-wide bulletin. Then, take the initiative to come to our house to propose marriage, and then we will consider the alliance.”
Mu Mingde: “That works.”
Liang Yuhang: “No.”
While a public bulletin might not be a criminal record, it would remain in his file, and Mu Feng’s future would be completely ruined.
Whether he entered a research institute or the military later, this stain would follow him forever.
Liang Yuhang repeated, “No. I don’t agree.”
Mu Mingde hadn’t expected Liang Yuhang to protect him so much, and he was quite surprised.
He rarely helped out. “Thinking carefully, a public apology is indeed not quite appropriate. After all, once the marriage is joined, the one losing face will also be the Liang family.”
Liang Zhaoqing thought for a moment. “True. Then a private apology is a must. Furthermore, until Jingyi is discharged, he must go to the hospital every day to take care of him.”
He paused. “This request is very reasonable, isn’t it? You injured someone; you must take responsibility.”
Mu Feng sensed the other party’s concession and moved his lips. “I can go every—”
“He’s not going,” Liang Yuhang said coldly. “I’ll arrange for top-tier caregivers for him. They will take care of him much better than Mu Feng.”
“Which family do you belong to exactly?” Liang Zhaoqing couldn’t help but lose his temper. “Every word I say, you counter. Where do you put your own father?”
Mu Feng reached out and tugged at Liang Yuhang’s sleeve.
He didn’t want the relationship between father and son to become more strained because of him.
He said softly, “Forget it. It’s just taking care of someone. It’s only for ten days or half a month.”
Liang Yuhang closed his eyes.
He knew Mu Feng didn’t want to cause a conflict, but if you take a step back, others will only push a mile further.
“But I will not apologize.” Mu Feng was neither humble nor pushy. “I am also a victim. I did nothing wrong. I agree to go purely because I don’t want to cause trouble for Teacher Liang. That is all.”
“Chairman Liang, how about we both take a step back?” Mu Mingde said with a smile. “We’ll all be one family in the future. Let’s turn the page.”
Liang Zhaoqing stood up with a cold face. As he passed Liang Yuhang, he cursed, “Uneducated brat.”
This sentence immediately struck Mu Feng’s sore spot. His expression turned cold instantly. “Try saying that about him again! Who’s the one without manners?!”
“You, shut your mouth!” Mu Mingde reached out and pulled him back. “Stop making things worse!”
Liang Zhaoqing slammed the door and left with a dark expression.
Mu Mingde scolded him, “Be a bit more polite to your future father-in-law. What kind of attitude is that? You really are uneducated!”
As he spoke, he reached out to pull at the collar on Mu Feng’s neck. “What kind of filthy things are you wearing all day long? Are you a stray dog or cat?”
Mu Feng brushed his hand away with disgust and twitched his lips slightly. “That’s right. Since you never taught me, how could I have any manners?”
Mu Mingde: “…”
“Sharp-tongued. This brat is really getting harder and harder to manage. Dad, let’s go,” Mu Shan muttered. “I don’t know what kind of spell he’s cast on those two brothers.”
The originally noisy room suddenly became empty.
Liang Yuhang stared at him for a few seconds and suddenly let out a small laugh.
Mu Feng was completely confused. “What are you laughing at? You can still laugh after being cursed at?”
“I just thought it was quite funny.” Liang Yuhang raised an eyebrow. “The two of us seem to be quite annoying to have at home.”
Mu Feng recalled the foul atmosphere of the conversation just now and couldn’t help but laugh as well, mocking himself, “Two uneducated brats, right?”
“Seeing how energetic you are, it seems you’ve recovered.” Liang Yuhang’s gaze moved from his face to the collar; there were still red marks on the skin from the pressure being too heavy.
Mu Feng remembered the dream from last night. Facing the subject of his wet dream in person, he felt a bit embarrassed.
He spoke evasively, “Ah, I’m better. It shows my body is quite sturdy; I carried through on my own.”
Liang Yuhang gave another meaningful laugh. “Mhm. Very sturdy.”
After spending this time together, Mu Feng could already read some of his expressions. Even if the corner of his mouth rose by a single pixel, he could detect a subtle difference.
That expression just now… was it teasing?
Could it be that while he was muddled last night, he had forcibly kissed the other man again?
After all, he had a prior record. Mu Feng felt extremely guilty at this moment. “Teacher Liang, did I… did I do something shameful last night?”
“You. Did.” Liang Yuhang’s phrasing was very spiritual.
Mu Feng grew even more nervous. He had some fragmented memories in his mind, but they were definitely dreams. How could Liang Yuhang possibly tolerate him doing such things?
Then… surely he hadn’t blurted out a confession?
Looking at him now, it didn’t seem likely. If he had confessed, the other man would definitely be eager to draw a line; he certainly wouldn’t have protected him like he did just now.
“Did I… forcibly kiss you again?” Mu Feng’s cheeks were already red to the extreme. “I didn’t mean to.”
Stupid mouth. Can’t even win an argument, just forcibly kisses people when things don’t go his way. Terrifying.
“No,” Liang Yuhang denied.
Mu Feng had just breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the next sentence, and his breath caught again, almost making him pass out.
Liang Yuhang teased him, “You did something else.”
Mu Feng: “Huh???”
There was indeed a dull ache.
“I didn’t… take you by force…” Mu Feng’s earlobes were red enough to drip blood as he managed to squeeze out those words. “…did I?”
