Chapter 174: I Do!
The rings would take seven working days to be ready. Gu Huaiye lied to Xie Miaohan, saying he had to take Father Gu for a health checkup and the report would come out late, managing to buy ten days of time to stay in District A.
It wasn’t entirely a lie; Gu Huaiye really did take Father Gu for a full body checkup. The report showed everything was normal, except for slightly high blood pressure.
Gu Huaiye specially hired a nutritionist to control Father Gu’s blood pressure through a light diet.
On the day he finally got the rings, Gu Huaiye was so excited he couldn’t sleep all night.
As soon as the sky turned light, he got up to wash. Waiting until past nine o’clock, he pulled Xie Miaohan up and took him to the amusement park in District A.
Xie Miaohan followed him, confused, his eyes full of curiosity. “Why come to the amusement park all of a sudden?”
“We’re going back to District B soon, and we definitely won’t have time for dates then, so I’m taking this chance to come now.”
Xie Miaohan’s gaze softened, and he held Gu Huaiye’s hand.

“Then I won’t ride it.”
Gu Huaiye thought Xie Miaohan looked absolutely adorable like this. He couldn’t resist leaning in to kiss his cheek.
“I’m not teasing you. Let’s go, I want to ride the carousel too.”
He pulled Xie Miaohan onto the carousel. They held hands tightly, seeing only each other in their eyes.
When they got off the carousel, Xie Miaohan looked down and glimpsed a ring on his ring finger.
He froze in place, lifting his hand, staring at the ring in disbelief.
Gu Huaiye hugged him from behind, his tone gentle. “Do you like it? I spent a long time choosing it.”
“How did you…” Xie Miaohan’s eyes turned red, his voice trembling. “When did you buy this?”
“The week before last.” Gu Huaiye smiled. “I specifically asked Dad to distract you just to prepare this surprise.”
Xie Miaohan immediately remembered that day, and his heart melted completely.
“Miaomiao, I was afraid you’d refuse, so I put it on you directly.” Gu Huaiye let go of Xie Miaohan’s waist, walked in front of him, and looked into his eyes. “Am I very bad for doing that?”
Xie Miaohan shook his head, tears gathering in his eyes.
Gu Huaiye took a deep breath and knelt on one knee. “Before, I ruined the wedding you meticulously prepared, causing everyone in District B to laugh at you. Can you let me make it up to you now? I will give you the best wedding.”

“Me too.” Gu Huaiye held Xie Miaohan tightly. “I don’t want to miss you ever again.”
Xie Miaohan was very happy, but a sense of unreality welled up in his heart.
He became anxious again, touching the rubber band on his wrist.
Just as he was about to snap the rubber band, the image of Gu Huaiye with red eyes applying medicine to him surfaced in his mind.

“Why not kiss?” Xie Miaohan’s voice was low, as if suppressing some emotion. “Brother, you only know how to be mean to me.”
Gu Huaiye had become immune to the address “Brother.” Unlike his surprise and excitement before, he had gotten used to it, as Xie Miaohan would occasionally call him that recently, and Gu Huaiye would sometimes respond.
“Miaomiao, go to sleep.” Gu Huaiye could barely keep his eyes open. He kissed the other’s lips placatingly. “This is interest. Tomorrow I’ll let you kiss all you want.”
He thought this would soothe Xie Miaohan, but in the next second, Xie Miaohan directly pried open his lips, kissing him until he couldn’t breathe, waking him up completely.
“Mmph… mmph… mmph…”
Gu Huaiye was almost suffocating and hurriedly pushed Xie Miaohan’s chest.
Xie Miaohan finally released him. “Brother’s mouth is indeed very sweet.”
