I Became a Heartthrob After Transmigrating into an ABO World chapter 218

Chapter 218: A Heart-to-Heart and a Sudden Proposal

Shen Shuyu stifled a laugh as he helped Yue Cheng escort those “peach blossoms” out of the ward. Closing the door, he said with mock seriousness, “Yue Cheng-ge, I never would have guessed you were so popular.”

Yue Cheng laughed and cursed playfully, “You brat, didn’t you see your brother was about to suffocate? You sure took your sweet time moving.”

Shen Shuyu replied, “I was just afraid of doing the wrong thing.”

He continued, “I just came from Auntie Wen’s house. When she heard you were sick, she specially steamed some large shrimp for you. She said you should eat more to properly nourish yourself.”

Yue Cheng raised an eyebrow slightly. “Xiao Yu, you’ve gotten quite close to the Wen family.”

Back when Wen Yue was hospitalized, Shen Shuyu would come by to visit from time to time. The boy thought he had hidden it well, but in reality, Yue Cheng had noticed long ago.

Shen Shuyu said, “Isn’t it normal for me to have a good relationship with them?”

He put on a pair of gloves. The shrimp were in an insulated lunch box and were still steaming hot.

Shen Shuyu deftly peeled a shrimp and placed it in an empty bowl. “Hurry up and eat.”

Maintaining his position, Yue Cheng lifted his hand and popped the shrimp into his mouth before asking, “Where’s your brother?”

Shen Shuyu gave him a puzzled look and said, “Did he not tell you? He had some urgent business.”

Yue Cheng chewed the shrimp, silent for a good while before finally saying, “He didn’t say.”

Shen Shuyu sensed something was off. He looked at Yue Cheng and asked, “Ge, did you and my brother have a fight?”

Yue Cheng shifted his gaze to him. “Hmm? No, why would you say that?”

Shen Shuyu placed another peeled shrimp on the empty plate. Seeing Yue Cheng eating them plain, he reminded him, “There’s dipping sauce on the side.”

“It’s fine, I like the original flavor.” Yue Cheng tilted his chin. “You haven’t answered me yet. Why do you think your brother and I fought?”

“Just a feeling.” Shen Shuyu tossed a peeled shrimp into his own mouth as well. “The vibe between you two has felt a bit different lately.”

Yue Cheng’s face was somewhat pale. He chewed the shrimp meat and said indistinctly, “Not really, isn’t it the same as always?”

Shen Shuyu let out a “tsk.” “Is it? Because to me, it feels like you two had a falling out.”

He thought for a moment, glanced at the door to ensure no one was coming in, and then whispered, “Yue Cheng-ge, did you not tell my brother about your relationship? When my brother rushed over today, I mentioned it in passing, and he didn’t seem to know. Did I cause trouble?”

Shen Shuyu only remembered this now. After all, Shen Yisi’s expression earlier didn’t look at all like someone who knew Yue Cheng had a partner, and then Shuyu had just blurted it out.

Yue Cheng lifted his arm, intending to pat Shen Shuyu’s head, but he accidentally pulled on his wound. He sucked in a breath of cold air and gave up. He said, “Stop letting your imagination run wild. Your big brother here is still single.”

Shen Shuyu blinked. “But that day…”

He hesitated, but suddenly, he understood. He truly understood.

Looking at him, Yue Cheng knew Shen Shuyu had misunderstood again. He said between laughter and tears, “Stop thinking about such messy things.”

Shen Shuyu shrugged and diligently continued peeling shrimp. He asked, “Have you known my brother for a long time?”

Yue Cheng gave him a look that suggested his brain must be fried. “You ungrateful brat. Didn’t I meet your brother because of you?”

Because of him?

A flash of an image crossed Shen Shuyu’s mind, but it was too blurry to catch. He could only say with a grin, “I forgot long ago. Tell me about it. How am I supposed to remember so much?”

Yue Cheng said, “You had just started elementary school back then. A few older kids thought you looked like a ‘little radish’ and were an easy target, so they cornered you for money. The first time, I happened to pass by and saw it, so I chased them off for you. But you went back crying to your brother. You couldn’t even speak clearly at that age—it was all mumbles—so your brother thought I was the one who had hit you.”

Yue Cheng still found it funny when he spoke of it. When Shen Yisi had dragged the “little radish” to his door, he was still in the middle of dinner. Shen Yisi had tried to beat him up without a single word of explanation.

Naturally, he wasn’t going to take a beating for nothing. The two of them traded punches all night until finally, Shen Shuyu cried out that his brother had hit the wrong person.

Once the three of them compared stories, Shen Yisi finally understood the whole sequence of events.

They had actually known of each other early on, but it was merely knowing a name and a face. Thanks to Shen Shuyu’s incoherent meddling, their friendship had naturally blossomed from there.

Shen Shuyu’s speed in peeling shrimp slowed down. Hearing Yue Cheng’s words, a few scenes actually manifested in his mind—it truly seemed to be his childhood.

The feeling this memory gave him was very strange, as if that mumbling “little radish” really was him, rather than the original host.

Yue Cheng looked at Shen Shuyu. “In the blink of an eye, time really has flown by.”

Shen Shuyu hummed in response. “Yeah.”

Shen Shuyu snapped out of it and resumed peeling. He said, “The New Year is in three days. Since you’re injured, you shouldn’t have any shifts, right?”

“Our hospital is quite humane, okay?” Yue Cheng said. “After I got hurt, my shifts were covered by colleagues. Actually, my injury isn’t that heavy. After a week of rest, I’ll be full of life again.”

Shen Shuyu nodded. “Then are you coming to our house for the New Year this year?”

He remembered that before they went to Planet Siro, Father and Mother Shen had invited Yue Cheng.

Yue Cheng shook his head. “No. I plan to go find my parents once I’m feeling a bit better.”

Because of the injury, he now had more vacation time, and he wanted to go out for a while. His gaze landed on Shen Shuyu sitting by his bed; the latter was looking down, meticulously peeling shrimp.

Yue Cheng asked, “Xiao Yu, is there an Alpha you like?”

Shen Shuyu glanced at him. “Ge, why are you asking this all of a sudden?”

Yue Cheng countered, “Why are you allowed to worry about my love life but I’m not allowed to worry about yours?”

Shen Shuyu didn’t answer immediately. Only after he finished peeling the very last shrimp did he say, “Yes.”

Yue Cheng put down his chopsticks. He thought for a moment. “Wen Jiafei?”

Shen Shuyu was shocked. “How did you know?”

Yue Cheng laughed. “It wasn’t hard to guess, was it?”

Shen Shuyu and Wen Jiafei were practically inseparable. Back when Shen Xili was kidnapped by interstellar pirates, Wen Jiafei had stepped in to help. Yue Cheng didn’t believe for a second that it was just because the three of them were “friends.” It was obvious that Wen Jiafei was only there for Shen Shuyu.

Shen Shuyu nodded. “Yes, we just got together.”

It was Yue Cheng’s turn to be surprised. “You… you two are together?”

Shen Shuyu nodded. “Mn, it only happened a few days ago. I haven’t decided how to tell my parents or my brother yet. You have to keep it a secret for me.”

One can’t hide liking someone, and Shen Shuyu hadn’t intended to hide it, but he wanted to wait until Wen Jiafei returned to find a suitable opportunity to tell his parents.

While he was thinking, he didn’t notice the complex expression that flickered across Yue Cheng’s face.

However, Yue Cheng quickly composed himself. He picked up his chopsticks again and grabbed a piece of shrimp meat. “I promise not to tell your parents.”

But I have to tell Shen Yisi.

The two of them cleared the shrimp entirely. Shen Shuyu asked Yue Cheng if he wanted anything else to eat, but Yue Cheng said he was full.

Since he was injured, his appetite was poor.

Shen Shuyu didn’t push him. Seeing that Shuyu looked like he intended to stay, Yue Cheng said, “It’s getting late. you should head back.”

Shen Shuyu replied, “I promised my brother I’d take good care of you.”

Besides, he didn’t know what his brother was up to; he hadn’t come back yet.

Yue Cheng laughed. “I don’t need you to take care of me. my colleagues will handle that. Plus, I’m getting ready to sleep. If you stay here, I’ll have to keep chatting with you.”

He teased with a fake complaint, “I can’t even tell who is keeping whom company.”

Since Yue Cheng put it that way, Shen Shuyu naturally couldn’t disturb his rest. He picked up the insulated lunch box. “Alright then, I’m off, Ge. Call me if you need anything.”

Yue Cheng said, “Come make some porridge for me tomorrow. I feel like having some.”

Shen Shuyu gave a salute. “Mission guaranteed!”

Yue Cheng watched with a smile as Shen Shuyu left the room. He waited for a moment before his smile faded. He picked up his terminal from the side, opened his messages, and sent one out.

Yue Cheng: [He’s gone. You can come in now.]

A few minutes later, Shen Yisi pushed open the door to the ward.

He was still wearing the same high-end custom suit from earlier today. He turned to close the door and walked over to sit in the chair Shen Shuyu had just occupied.

Yue Cheng looked at him. “You heard everything?”

Shen Yisi gave a hum of affirmation. “I heard.”

Just as he had finished talking with Shen Shuyu earlier, he had seen Shen Yisi standing at the door. He didn’t know when Yisi had arrived, but he had remained outside without entering.

Yue Cheng set the terminal aside. “Since you heard, I won’t repeat it. You should head back too. I need to rest.”

Shen Yisi looked at him. After hesitating for a long time, he finally said, “There is something I want your consent for.”

Yue Cheng raised an eyebrow slightly. “Hmm?”

He watched as Shen Yisi reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a black velvet gift box. He opened the box to reveal two simple band rings.

Yue Cheng’s eyes widened, his mind going a bit blank, as he heard Shen Yisi continue:

“Let’s get married.”
