Chapter 97: Slept
For the next several nights, Chi Yuheng continued to bury himself in the study right after dinner.
The explanation Chi Yuheng gave was that the project proposal he had shown Ye Ran before was merely a preliminary plan from Chengyi. Even if Ye Ran, an outsider to the industry, couldn’t find any flaws, Chi Yuheng couldn’t just muddle through and deceive him.
He had to strive for perfection.
Although the partnership with Ye Ran would benefit the Chengyi Group, Chi Yuheng hoped more that Ye Ran would grow strong on his own and have his own industry. What Chi Yuheng could do was hold him up.
Ye Ran didn’t understand all that right now; he just went along with it, saying, “Yes, yes, yes, okay, okay, okay.”
But what did it mean when Chi Yuheng got busy? It meant Ye Ran had to keep watch over an empty room again.
Since they had been together, aside from kissing and helping each other out, they hadn’t truly “slept” together.
Now, he could barely even see the man. Except for breakfast and dinner, Chi Yuheng was busy all the time. The only thing different from before was that they slept in the same bed.
They had become brothers who slept in the same bed.

At night, after his shower, Ye Ran was bored and played with the small night light on the bed. He suspected this night light had a grudge against him; it had blurted out nonsense at a critical moment, nearly sacrificing his backside to the “demon’s claws.”
“You’re so ugly,” Ye Ran said.
The night light repeated, “You’re so ugly.”
“You’re a little noob.”
The night light said again, “You’re a little noob.”
Ye Ran asked a few more questions in this “kill a thousand enemies, lose a thousand of your own” style, and the night light repeated them perfectly.
Ye Ran knitted his brows and looked it up and down, left and right, then patted the night light’s head. “Isn’t it working fine?”
He tried again. “Chi Yuheng, you’re no good.”
The night light stopped talking.
Ye Ran: “???”
Did I break it by patting it just now?
He gave the night light two more pats and tried again, “Chi Yuheng, you’re no good.”
That little mushroom head still didn’t speak.
Ye Ran tried one last time, “If you’re no good, I can top you.”
The night light was completely dead. The light was still on, but it couldn’t imitate a single word.
Ye Ran was speechless. “Could it be that you’re afraid of Chi Yuheng too? You can repeat everything else I say, but you won’t repeat things about him. So cowardly.”
The night light flickered twice, as if defending itself, saying it was working hard to learn.
Ye Ran felt he had been scammed by the boutique owner; he had only used it a few times after buying it, and now it was useless.
However, those two sentences he just said weren’t exactly badmouthing Chi Yuheng behind his back.
After all, it had been so many days and they hadn’t taken a step further; Ye Ran seriously suspected if the man was “no good.”
Just as his badmouthing of Chi Yuheng was about to complete a full circle around the Earth, his phone rang.
It was a call from Xu Huiyang.
Ye Ran lay on the bed, grabbed his phone, and clicked answer.
The voice on the other end was booming and sounded like he was in a great mood, forming a sharp contrast with Ye Ran’s muffled voice.
Xu Huiyang had just come home after eating hot pot outside. Having eaten something delicious, he was easily satisfied and also had the mood to care about his brother.
“You haven’t told me how things are going with you and Chi Yuheng over the last few days. Have you taken him down?”
Ye Ran stared at the ceiling. “I had to take him down. If I haven’t caught him after all this time, wouldn’t that be too incompetent?”
Xu Huiyang was not stingy with his praise. “Badass.”
“So you’re saying it’s going smoothly? What stage have you reached?”
Ye Ran: “Every stage has been reached.”
Xu Huiyang: “You slept together?”
Ye Ran gave an affirmative. “Slept together.”
He had caught the man at such a fast speed; if he admitted he was currently guarding an empty room, it would be too embarrassing.
Since they had reached this point, Xu Huiyang finally remembered that the two were together now and didn’t know if Chi Yuheng was beside Ye Ran at this moment.
He asked tentatively, “Is Brother Yuheng beside you?”
Ye Ran rolled his eyes. “He’s not here. I sent him to the study to help me look over my thesis.”
Xu Huiyang: “Holy crap, Brother Yuheng is that obedient?”
The corner of Ye Ranâs mouth curled into a smile. “He has to be. It’s all about domestic status.”
Xu Huiyang clicked his tongue twice. “I never imagined that the Chi Yuheng who dominates the business world outside would be so ‘husband-pecked’ at home.”
Ye Ran was about to chime in with a few words when he suddenly felt something was wrong.
“Who said he’s husband-pecked? Why can’t he be under my management?”
Xu Huiyang was stunned for a moment, his brain processing the meaning of Ye Ran’s words. “Are you saying… between the two of you, you’re the one topping him?”
Although they hadn’t slept together yet, Ye Ran felt that it wasn’t an impossibility.

The two started the game and called Chi Youchu along.
The trio was assembled, and everyone turned on voice chat.
Ye Ran: “Play the same positions as before. Starting.”
Chi Youchu called for an emergency stop. “Wait a minute, I want to pull someone else in.”
Xu Huiyang: “Is it…”
Before he could finish the word “who,” that person had already been invited into the room by Chi Youchu.
Ye Ran glanced at the game nickname:
