Chapter 98: Chi Yuheng, Youโre No Good
Ye Ran was wearing headphones and didn’t hear the footsteps entering the room at all.
He caught sight of a figure sitting beside him out of the corner of his eye and was startled. “Holy shit! What the hell!”
Generally, the only person who could scare Ye Ran like this was Chi Yuheng.
Chi Youchu and Xu Huiyang weren’t surprised, because back on the island, Ye Ran had been scared once just like this.
Chi Youchu’s hand trembled from Ye Ran’s shout. “Luckily it hadn’t started yet, otherwise he would have scared my ‘Flash’ right out of me.”
Pei Si: “Little Chuchu, what is ‘Flash’?”
Chi Youchu: “…”
Xu Huiyang: “Brother Pei Si, you’re at this rank and you don’t even know what ‘Flash’ is?”
Pei Si: “Mm. I’ve always been protected by Little Chuchu, so I’ve never used that function.”
Xu Huiyang felt like he had been forcibly fed a mouthful of dog food.
He shouldn’t have asked that question.
But it was fine; with four people in the game, even if Chi Youchu and Pei Si were a couple, Ye Ran was still single in the game, so he had company while eating dog food.
On the other side, Ye Ran glared at Chi Yuheng. “Can you make some noise in the future? You give me a heart attack every time.”
Chi Yuheng had a smile on his face. “It’s not that I didn’t make noise; you were just too focused and didn’t hear.”
Ye Ran stopped talking to him; the game was about to start, and he couldn’t fail his teammates.
Just as his gaze returned to the game interface, he heard the person beside him say, “Include me.”
Ye Ran turned his head. “???”
Chi Yuheng wanted to play games with him?
Ye Ran paused and blinked. “Do you know how to play?”
Chi Yuheng took out his own phone and found the same game Ye Ran was playing. “For me, this kind of game shouldn’t be very difficult.”
In the Chi family, even the Old Master played games, not to mention Chi Youchu, yet Ye Ran had never seen Chi Yuheng play.
He thought Chi Yuheng simply wasn’t interested in playing.
But in reality, who isn’t interested in playing? With the Old Master as an example, Chi Yuheng also liked to play; he was just too busy and didn’t have time.
Seeing him open the game, Ye Ran was instantly interested.
Isn’t there a saying that one who is silent usually shocks everyone? He vaguely felt that Chi Yuheng was the shocking one.
This guy actually had the game downloaded already; he must have played secretly and might even be a pro.
The two of them craned their necks to look at Chi Yuheng’s rank.
The result… Silver.
His expectations were wasted.
It wasn’t much better than Bronze.
Ye Ran didn’t hide his disdain at all. “Your rank…”
“You should learn how to use skills first. This is a high-rank game.”
The reason Chi Yuheng downloaded the game back then was to cultivate a common hobby with Ye Ran and to control his gaming hours.
“A low rank doesn’t mean my skills are bad. Include me.”
Chi Yuheng’s serious face actually moved Ye Ran. “Fine, you use my alt account. That way the matchmaking will work.”
The other three were getting impatient, calling for Ye Ran in the room.
Ye Ran: “I’m pulling one more person in.”
A few seconds later, he entered the game room.
Everyone: “…”
Chi Youchu found an opportunity to mock him. “Another dumbass has arrived, haha…”
Ye Ran: “Is it possible that this ‘dumbass’ is your brother?”
Chi Youchu shut his mouth instantly.
He cursed Ye Ran’s entire family in his heart; why couldn’t he have warned him before pulling his brother in?
The most miserable one was still Xu Huiyang.
Out of five people, there were two couples, and he was the only one squeezed in the middle, eating dog food from the left and then the right.
It was simply too tragic.
He asked weakly, “Should I just back out?”
Ye Ran: “No. Everyone’s here. Starting.”
Xu Huiyang: “…”
The game started, and they began selecting positions.
Previously, Ye Ran always played the Jungler, but because Pei Si’s game name was “If You Lose, Stew the Jungler,” and he didn’t want to be stewed by Pei Si, he directly gave the Jungler position to Chi Youchu. Pei Si played the Top lane.
Ye Ran assigned Chi Yuheng the Support position while he played as the Marksman. He spoke in a low voice, “Follow me closely.”
The corner of Chi Yuhengโs mouth curled slightly. “Okay.”
Xu Huiyang: “…”
So he, the Mid-laner, was redundant.
Two at the top, two at the bottom, and he was stuck in the middle praying for rain.
“Let this heavy rain fall…”
In the first round, the enemy Jungler came up and targeted the squishy heroes, clearly intent on not letting the Marksman develop.
Xu Huiyang hurried over to provide support, but he was killed by the enemy in a second before he could even use his ultimate.
Ye Ran could still fight a bit, but when he couldn’t win, he ran back to find Chi Yuheng. While running, he was like a repeater.
“Chi Yuheng, hurry and ‘milk’ me, ‘milk’ me, ‘milk’ me, ‘milk’ me, ‘milk’ me!”
Xu Huiyang, lying at the fountain, heard Ye Ran’s mouth moving so fast it was almost sparking. He said weakly, “How about giving me a ‘milk’ too?”
Ye Ran: “Get lost!”
Xu Huiyang felt aggrieved; Xu Huiyang wanted to cry. “Brother Yuheng, he doesn’t respect the dead.”
Ye Ran: “Did I give you permission to call him Brother Yuheng?”
Those few words made Chi Yuheng feel exceptionally good.
With Chi Yuheng, the super “Healer,” present, it was impossible for Ye Ran to die, and he even took the MVP of the match.
Xu Huiyang went 1-8, so miserable that the system penalized him.
In the second round, Chi Youchu started exerting force, targeting the enemy’s Top lane and completely protecting Pei Si behind him.
Whenever there was a kill, he let Pei Si take it. Pei Si’s mouth wasn’t idle either, praising him non-stop. “Chi Xiaochu, you’re badass.”
Chi Youchu: “Stay low-key, stay low-key. These are all basic operations.”
Ye Ran clicked his tongue twice, and just when he was unguarded, his Support was ambushed by the enemy.
Chi Yuheng ran back, and Ye Ran rushed forward to meet him.
“Chi Yuheng, hurry up and get on me, get on me, get on me…”
Chi Yuheng curled his lips, his fingers operating rapidly. “Okay, getting on you.”
The scene looked quite touching at first glance, but if you looked closely…
Xu Huiyang: “What kind of provocative words are these?”
In the third round, Chi Youchu was targeted. The jungle monsters were all stolen, and he didn’t have the strength to kill anyone.
In this situation, Ye Ran guessed they were bound to lose; after winning two rounds, they were bound to lose one, and there probably wouldn’t be any miracles.
He was about to just slack off when Chi Yuheng stepped forward. “Let me.”
He watched with wide eyes as Chi Yuheng, a Support, sold his support items and started jungling. His operations were so smooth that a round that was impossible to win was won just like that.
“Holy shit! Chi Yuheng, what kind of species are you exactly?”
Chi Yuheng patted Ye Ranโs head. “In your words, a deviant species.”
Ye Ran: “…”
They played two more rounds. It was getting late, and Ye Ran got off the game under Chi Yuheng’s pressured gaze.
The moment his head hit the pillow, his eyelids began to fight. Ye Ran barely managed a “goodnight” before he was about to fall asleep.
Chi Yuheng turned off the light and lay down beside Ye Ran.
Just a few seconds after it became quiet, the small night light finished its hard learning and started repeating, “Chi Yuheng, youโre no good.”
“Chi Yuheng, youโre no good.”
