Chapter 42: Don’t Abandon Yuanyuan Ever Again
Shen Yuan was so afraid that he huddled tightly behind the man. He tremblingly tugged at the man’s sleeve, pleading, “Xi… Xiansheng… I… I’m afraid… can you let me go back first? There are so many people here…”
Yu Xiuqing shook off that small hand. He didn’t notice the youth’s increasingly terrified expression at all, saying coldly, “No.” He had no idea that the other had agoraphobia.
His fingers suddenly grabbing at empty air, Shen Yuan’s heart skipped a beat. He looked up at the man’s profile, only to find that the other’s eyes were only on his beloved; he wasn’t looking at him at all.
The feeling of being abandoned was like a knife twisting in the little fool’s heart. Yet he didn’t dare resist again.
He could only timidly lower his arm and purse his lips. Tears fell patter-patter as he cried in secret. He looked incredibly aggrieved in his bullied state.
Perhaps because there were too many people and the place was too large, Shen Yuan looked up and found that the Yu Xiuqing walking before him had vanished. He was left standing awkwardly in the center of the venue.
“Xi… Xiansheng? Where are you?!” The little fool called out in fear, but his voice was drowned out by the noisy crowd. He could only search anxiously in every direction, yet he couldn’t find that familiar figure.
The gazes directed at him felt very oppressive. He couldn’t break free, standing in the middle of everyone’s disdainful stares as the most conspicuous object.
“Sob… Xiansheng… Yuanyuan can’t find you… please take Yuanyuan away quickly…” Shen Yuan wanted to cry, but he was afraid others would notice the tears in his eyes. He tried hard to stop them from falling, but the grievance and sadness could not be stopped.
He was like an abandoned child, lost and helpless. He could only wander in place without a sense of direction.
Suddenly, his thin shoulder was shoved forcefully from behind. Caught off guard, Shen Yuan fell heavily onto the cold, hard floor!
“Ah…” He finally cried out in pain. Tears rolled down from the corners of his eyes to his cheeks and mouth. The salty taste stimulated every nerve ending.
It hurt so much… His wounds hadn’t even healed yet, and now they were made worse by this forceful shove…
The men watching from the sidelines saw such a soft and delicate beauty, and their eyes were nearly sparkling with fire. If it weren’t for the fact that this little thing was brought by the Eldest Young Master of the Yu family, they probably would have pounced on him long ago.
Shen Yuan sat on the floor, trying several times but failing to crawl back up because he truly had no strength left. The surrounding sounds of discussion felt piercing to his ears. He wished he could find a crack in the floor to crawl into.
At this moment, a pair of silver high heels appeared in his view. The voice of a young girl sounded from above: “Oh, isn’t this the little substitute my cousin spent twenty billion to buy back~ Why are you sitting here? Have you been abandoned by my cousin? How piteous~”
The girl was Yu Xiuqing’s cousin, Yu Zhaozhao. She curled her red lips in mockery, standing in a superior position. She kicked his leg with her high heel and said, “Oh, it makes sense. After all, my legitimate cousin-in-law has returned to the country. Those two are the perfect match. What right does a fool like you have to stand beside my cousin?”
Shen Yuan avoided her in fear, not daring to look up at her at all. He braced his hands on the ground and stood up tremblingly.
These words were like sharp knives, stabbing ruthlessly into his heart! It was a bloody mess!
He didn’t dare to argue. She was right, wasn’t she? He didn’t have even a shred of status to stand beside the powerful Yu Sanye. He wasn’t even as good as a servant.
Yu Xiuqing stood not far away with his back to the bullied Shen Yuan. With an upright posture and a gentle smile on his face, he was lifting a glass of champagne to toast his father’s old friends. He didn’t notice the scene behind him at all.
Su Huaiyao couldn’t understand their conversation. Bored, he turned around and saw Shen Yuan standing not far away in a wretched state, being mocked by the Eldest Miss of the Yu family. That appearance—he truly had no dignity at all.
After all, he was just a toy his Xiuqing-gege had bought. He had no value; why would he need dignity? He couldn’t help but let out a soft sneer. His irritable mood vanished, replaced by joy.
“Xiaoyao, what are you looking at?” A questioning voice sounded in his ear.
Su Huaiyao’s heart skipped a beat. Afraid the other would intervene if he saw Shen Yuan being bullied, he immediately blocked the other’s line of sight. He held the man’s arm and walked in the opposite direction, “Xiuqing-gege, let’s go to the front! Yu-爷爷 should be coming out now; he’s waiting for us!”
Yu Xiuqing had no choice but to be led away by him.
Here, Shen Yuan had just found his footing when his back was pushed arrogantly by another force, sending him sprawling forward! This time, the fall was even harder!
The little fool felt dizzy. His pale face was pressed against the cold marble floor.
Song Wei’s voice came over in a curse, “My Xiaoyao was pushed down the stairs by him and broke a leg! He only regained his ability to walk today!”
“Could it be because Chairman Yu’s true beloved returned? Was he jealous, so he did this?”
“On the surface, he looks harmless. I didn’t expect him to be so sinister in secret. I always said that things bought from that kind of filthy market wouldn’t be good!”
“I truly feel sorry for CEO Yu’s twenty billion! He actually bought back such an ungrateful ingrate!”
The constant rebukes around him made Shen Yuan’s head ring. The pain was as if his head were about to explode.
His throat felt as if it were being squeezed by invisible hands. His breathing became intermittent; he was nearly suffocating!
Those people surrounded Shen Yuan, constantly pointing at him, humiliating and cursing him. Even those who had no grudge against him joined in to mock him.
He was like a toy used by high-society individuals for amusement. He had no dignity, and no human rights.
He had already guessed it would be like this… But he hadn’t expected to be in such a wretched state—to be bullied until he was broken and submerged in intense fear.
“Sob…” The little fool sobbed softly, curling his body like a shrimp and huddling into a tiny ball.
“Hmph. You still dare to cry?” Song Wei let out a cold laugh. She lifted him from the floor with one hand, forcing him to stand. Then she raised her hand and delivered two heavy slaps to his enviable face.
“If it weren’t for you, my Xiaoyao wouldn’t have missed this piano performance! His trophies, his honor—what are you going to use to pay for them, you stupid thing?!”
Spit flew as she finished cursing and heartlessly let go of his hand, throwing the weakened youth aside.
Shen Yuan’s small hands flailed in the air, but he couldn’t find anything to support himself. The people beside him avoided him as if he were a plague.
Suddenly, his soft body was caught by a large hand, and he fell into a broad embrace.
“Is it Xians… Xiansheng…?” Shen Yuan felt as if he had found something to rely on. His wet eyes were closed and trembling. He clutched the other’s neck tightly, burying his small face into the warm chest.
His entire body was nearly pressed against the man’s. Intense fear made him desperate for protection.
Even his voice carried a sobbing tone, trembling violently, “Xi… Xiansheng, don’t abandon Yuanyuan ever again… I beg you, Yuanyuan is so afraid… sob…”
Unexpectedly, the man he was hugging let out a lewd laugh. He patted his back and said, “Be good. Big brother won’t abandon you. Big brother will cherish and love Yuanyuan well~”
Hearing this strange yet familiar voice, Shen Yuan’s heart jolted. His nose didn’t catch the cold fir-wood scent belonging to Xiansheng; instead, it was a heavy smell of alcohol!
He was so frightened he immediately let go of his hands. His piteous, watery eyes instantly locked with a wicked, roguish face!
How was it Yu Beikuo?!
“Ah… let go of me!” Shen Yuan shrieked in fear. His small hands pushed against the other’s chest with all his might, struggling desperately. But the man was like a piece of sticky gum attached to his body!
Yu Beikuo easily grabbed his flailing hands. Seeing this panicked, innocent, and piteous appearance, it truly made one want to ravage him!
“Be good. Don’t make a scene~ I am your Xiansheng~” His low, sexy voice was filled with coaxing and tenderness. He leaned down and lightly kissed the youth’s forehead. His thin lips curled involuntarily as he stared unblinkingly at Shen Yuan, saying, “If you keep making a scene, I’ll eat you~”
“You aren’t Xiansheng! You’re a big bastard!” Shen Yuan shouted in exasperation. With teary eyes, his fists angrily hammered at the man’s shoulders.
But this resistance was like a light tickle to Yu Beikuo. It only made him want to “eat” the youth even more.
With a sudden movement, he picked Shen Yuan up in a princess carry. The smile in his eyes grew increasingly lewd as he roared at the crowd, “All of you, get out of my way!”
The onlookers quickly stood on either side to make way for this profligate young master. They whispered among themselves, “Wow. That fool is in trouble now. Falling into Yu-小少爺’s hands—won’t he be broken from the toying?”
“Yes. Who doesn’t know that this Yu Beikuo is a notorious profligate? His favorite thing to do is bullying men and women! The kind that pushes them to the limit!”
“Sob… let… let go of me!” Shen Yuan’s legs kicked wildly. He struggled, yet he couldn’t break free from the man’s sturdy, powerful arms!
Yu Beikuo walked straight toward a sofa in the corner. He threw Shen Yuan onto it. Bracing one hand against the back of the sofa, he leaned down close to him, his heavy breathing filling the low-pitched voice, “Be good~ Baby~ In a moment, big brother will definitely treat you gently~ I’ll make you feel very comfortable being served~”
The smell of alcohol on him, mixed with perfume and tobacco, made Shen Yuan’s stomach churn in nausea.
“Get away! Get away! Don’t touch me!” Shen Yuan shrieked, desperately hiding to the side. He tried his best to avoid the hand reaching for his cheek.
“Yuanyuan, where are you telling big brother to go?~” While speaking, Yu Beikuo forcefully tore at the youth’s clothes. The action was crude and wild, showing none of the tenderness used when coaxing the youth a moment ago.
Shen Yuan was frightened senseless. His small face was deathly pale. His eyes were wide as he shook his head in terror, screaming through his tears, “Sob… help…”
But the sofa was in the furthest corner, away from the crowd. Who could possibly hear his plea for help?
Shen Yuan was in despair. He gradually gave up his struggle…
