Chapter 13: The Incompetent and Malicious Ex-Boyfriend (13)
He looked up at Ye Qi, a faint, suggestive smile playing on his lips.
“Ye Qi, you know about some of my special hobbies. Not letting you sleep with me is exactly because I love you.”
Ye Qi looked at Shen Ci. After a few seconds, he suddenly laughed. He looked beautiful when he laughed, with the corners of his eyes tilting up slightly like little hooks, drawing people’s gaze. Even though Shen Ci didn’t like men, he was momentary dazzled by the smile.
“Ah Ci, itās okay. I can accept it.”
Shen Ci: “…”
What a huge pervert!
What kind of pervert was he? Ye Qi was the real pervert!!!
His Adamās apple bobbed again and again, but he couldn’t squeeze out a single word. He really wanted to cover his front.
The room was silent for a moment.
“Ye Qi, Iām used to sleeping alone. Suddenly having two people together… Iām not used to it.”
A flash of disappointment appeared in Ye Qiās eyes. But he found a very reasonable excuse for Shen Ci: Shen Ci “couldn’t do it,” so he was protecting his pitiful dignity. He couldn’t force him; what if he got angry and he couldn’t coax him back?
After weighing the pros and cons, Ye Qi decided to take it slow.
…
It wasn’t until Ye Qi left that Shen Ci finally let out a sigh of relief. This world of the gays was too terrifying.
The primetime dogblood drama hadn’t finished yet. During the commercial break, Shen Ci saw that the time was about right and went back to his room to change.
The department Ye Qi worked in was having a gathering today. For some reason, as if heād lost his mind, Ye Qi suddenly asked Shen Ci to pick him up. Shen Ci reasonably suspected that Ye Qi just thought he was too idle and wanted to mess with him.
Although he wasn’t very willing, he had no reason to refuse.
Ming Yanzhou had gone out after dinner, saying he had some business with a friend. This was his freedom, so Shen Ci naturally wouldn’t ask.
…
The place for Ye Qiās gathering was near his company. Shen Ci clicked on the navigation; it was about a thirty-minute drive.
With one hand on the steering wheel and the other resting casually on his knee, his phone suddenly rang. He glanced down at the screen; it was Xiao Hu.
“Hello… Xiao Hu, whatās up?”
Just as the words left his mouth and before his gaze could return to the road ahead, the taillights of the car in front suddenly flashed. By the time Shen Ci reacted and slammed on the brakes, it was a bit too late. Momentum carried the car body directly into the one in frontā
A sports car…
Shen Ci was stunned for a moment. Once he realized what happened, he couldn’t help but spit out a “Fuck.”
Suddenly braking hardādoes this person even know how to drive? A road killer; this is absolutely a road killer!
Inside the sports car, Jiang Ningyuan had the same thought as Shen Ci. Are you blind to my brakes? You just bumped into me so naturally? If your eyes are bad, don’t drive, okay? This was his favorite car!
Jiang Ningyuan unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out with a dark face, ready to find trouble with Shen Ci. But when he saw Shen Ci, his eyes went straight.
He looked at Shen Ciās face, his Adamās apple unconsciously rolling once. The bellyful of anger he had just now seemed to be extinguished instantly.
The person before him was wearing a simple black shirt, his bangs slightly messy from the night wind. The light from the streetlamp fell on his eyelashes, casting a small, faint shadow. Even the way he frowned while staring at the damage to the car front had an indescribable charm.
He cleared his throat and forcibly swallowed the reprimand that was at the tip of his tongue. His tone softened involuntarily.
“You… are you okay?”
Shen Ci looked up at the sound and met a pair of eyes filled with scrutiny. His frown deepened. “Iām fine. Letās look at the car first.”
He pointed to where the two cars connected. “I rear-ended you; the responsibility is mine. Insurance or private settlement? You decide.”
Jiang Ningyuanās gaze lingered on his face for a few more seconds. How could he care about dividing responsibility now? He walked around to the back of the car. Actually, it was just a small patch of paint scraped off and a slight dentāit wasn’t serious.
He looked at Shen Ci, a gentle smile appearing on his face. “No need to look. Itās just a minor injury.”
Shen Ci was stunned for a moment, not understanding his meaning. However, seeing that the other party had a good attitude, his tone also softened.
“Regardless of the size, I should compensate what I should. I won’t dodge the debt.”
Jiang Ningyuan went Wow in his heart. So responsible, such a sense of justice; I like him so much.
He took two steps forward, deliberately lowering his voice, his eyes carrying a trace of eagerness he hadn’t noticed himself. “Actually, my sudden braking was too abrupt; I also bear responsibility. Letās call this my fault; you don’t need to worry about it.”
When these words came out, Shen Ci was truly bewildered. He stared at Jiang Ningyuan for a good while, wondering if he had hallucinated from the crash. He had seen people for “Porcelain Bumping” (scams), but he had never seen someone actively take full responsibilityāespecially when the other party was driving a sports car. Logically, being rear-ended shouldn’t make them this easy-going.
“Are you sure?” Shen Ci couldn’t help but confirm. “It was me who wasn’t paying attention to the road and didn’t brake in time. The main responsibility is mine.”
As Jiang Ningyuan looked at his serious and earnest expression, his heart was practically popping pink bubbles. So cute! The smile on his lips deepened.
“Of course. Would I lie to you?” Jiang Ningyuan smiled and took the opportunity to lean in another half-step. The distance closed, allowing him to see the curve of Shen Ciās eyelashes more clearly. “However, the insurance process might need some follow-up coordination. In case something needs to be confirmed…”
He paused. “Letās leave a contact method to make future communication easier.”
What Jiang Ningyuan said was perfectly logical. Shen Ci didn’t hesitate and gave his phone number and name to Jiang Ningyuan.
After Jiang Ningyuan saved it, he pulled up a WeChat QR code. “Letās add WeChat too. Sending pictures via WeChat is more convenient. By the way, my name is Jiang Ningyuan.”
After Shen Ci added him, he casually gave him a nickname note.
Just as Jiang Ningyuan was about to strike up a few more words of conversation, his phone rang. It was Zhou Geng.
“Hello.”
“A-Yuan, why haven’t you arrived yet? Have you been away so long you forgot the way here?”
“My car got rear-ended; Iāll be there in a moment.” After Jiang Ningyuan finished, he asked, “Is Zhou-zai here yet?”
“He said heās almost here.”
“Fine. Order the drinks first; Iām coming right now.”
Jiang Ningyuan had just returned to the country, and Zhou Geng had organized a gathering today for just him and Ming Yanzhouāthe three best friends.
…
After hanging up the phone, he looked at Shen Ci. “Uh… Shen Ci, I have something to do, so Iāll be leaving first.”
“Oh, okay. Goodbye, Mr. Jiang.”
“Hah, why call me Mr. Jiang? Why be so formal? Just call me by my name. We can be considered to have a bit of fate. Look at youāthere were so many cars you didn’t rear-end, but you just had to rear-end mine…”
Jiang Ningyuan looked at him with a brilliant smile.
Shen Ci: “…”
For a moment, Shen Ci didn’t know if he truly felt they had “fate” or if he was being sarcastic. But without a doubt, he didn’t really want this kind of fate.
By the time Jiang Ningyuan arrived, Ming Yanzhou had only been there for a few minutes. As soon as he entered the private room, he gave Zhou Geng a passionate hug.
“Bro~ long time no see~”
Ming Yanzhou clicked his tongue. He hadn’t seen him for over half a year, and he was still the same damn way.
