Chapter 64: Caught in the Act
Chi Yuheng was busy at the company all morning, his heels barely touching the ground. He finally finished processing the documents at hand by noon.
It was time to get off work, and the driver was already waiting downstairs.
Xin Yu opened the car door for Chi Yuheng. Only after his eldest young master got into the car did he sit in the passenger seat.
The driver asked where to go. Xin Yu instructed, “Back to the old mansion.”
There was one more task Xin Yu hadn’t had time to report. Seeing how busy Chi Yuheng was, and since the matter was already set in stone, he hadn’t rushed to speak. Now that Chi Yuheng was slightly free, Xin Yu spoke up.
“CEO Chi, plot 096, which the company had always favored, has been taken by someone else.”
Chi Yuhengâs hand pinching his brow paused.
This plot was part of the company’s plan. It used to be a wasteland, but because a school was established first, commercial buildings and residential projects had sprung up around it. Whoever could take that plot would have core competitiveness regardless of what they developed.
Now, this plot had actually been taken by someone else.
“Who?” Chi Yuheng asked.
Xin Yu: “Haven’t found out yet. We only know this person set their eyes on that plot even earlier than we did.”
Chi Yuheng had strong foresight. He couldn’t think of who else was stronger than him in this regard.
Xin Yu continued, “Several planned projects of the company have come to a passive standstill because we didn’t get this plot. At the same time, several other companies in Jing City are investigating who the buyer is.”
Chi Yuheng said, “I see.”
If someone could cooperate with this person, they could stabilize the company’s performance for at least three years.
…
Ye Ran was almost falling asleep watching the “explosive” films Xu Huijiang mentioned.
When he watched with them before, it didn’t seem like this. Now, watching them, he actually had no reaction at all.
Holy shit!
He hadn’t even had a girlfriend yet, and “Little Ye Ran” had gone offline ahead of him.
After feeling that this was entirely possible, Ye Ranâs mind went blank.
Could it simply be that the filming of this movie is bad?
Ye Ran clicked on the next one, and the result was the same.
Damn it! It really seems like it’s broken.
This thought exploded in his heart like a bomb, instantly shattering his heart into pieces.
He tossed aside the phone that was playing audio and grabbed his tablet to search online.
The search results made Ye Ranâs brow furrow.
It said to first rule out psychological issues, then check for physiological diseases.
Ye Ran stared at the tablet. What psychological issues could he have? But if it wasn’t psychological, then something was wrong with his body. Neither was something he wanted to see.
Coincidentally, Xu Huijiang, who had sent him the resources, came back to life, and another new film was sent over.
Ye Ran didn’t wait a moment and quickly clicked on it.
He thought that perhaps he needed some visual stimulation.
Chi Yuheng arrived at the old mansion. Entering the door, he saw the old man lecturing the dog. “Youâre not allowed to rush out before me in the future, hear me?”
Hengbao squatted on the ground, seemingly displeased. Most likely, he was looking down on the old man for running too slowly.
The old man was arguing with him as well. “Youâre still not willing? Never mind you, even if Yuheng were here, he wouldn’t dare run in front of me to hug Xiao Ran first.”
Just as he finished speaking, a steady voice rang out from behind him, “Grandfather…”
The old man was startled. Fortunately, his heart was okay; otherwise, he would have been scared into an illness.
Turning around to see his eldest grandson had returned, the old man didn’t even care to be excited and first glared at him. “Yuheng, when are you going to fix your habit of scaring people?”
Chi Yuheng heard these words; it seemed Ye Ran had said them before too.
Indeed, he had learned it from the old man.
Chi Yuheng took the old manâs words to heart, but he wasn’t sure if he would do it again next time.
Ye Ran had returned to the mansion first, but Chi Yuheng didn’t see him.
So he asked, “Where’s Ye Ran?”
Old Master Chi: “Hengbao rubbed fur all over him, so he went upstairs to shower. Huh? But heâs been up there for a while and hasn’t come down. Go up and check on him. Make sure he hasn’t slipped in the bathroom since his foot isn’t fully healed.”
Upon hearing this, Chi Yuheng immediately went upstairs.
Ye Ran had received a message from Xu Huijiang before clicking on the video.
[Xu Huijiang]: Holy shit! I just realized I sent the wrong one. That one just now was two men. I wanted to delete it but accidentally sent it to you.
[Xu Huijiang]: If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. I’ll send you others.
Ye Ran didn’t read this long string of messages at all. Hearing the notifications pinging in the background, he thought Xu Huijiang had sent him more videos.
He clicked play. The progress bar was moving. At first, there were boring subtitles. He dragged the progress bar with his fingertip, trying to pull the video directly to the most stimulating part.
Right at that moment, the door was suddenly pushed open. Chi Yuheng walked in quickly. “Yezi…”
Ye Ran had a pure stress response. His hand shook, and he couldn’t hold onto the phone, which he flung toward the foot of the bed.
Thus, the moving images were played right in front of Chi Yuheng, while sounds continuously drifted out…
Chi Yuhengâs gaze changed from worry when he first entered the room, to confusion, and finally to teasing.
He stared straight at Ye Ran. “The reason you stayed in your room and didn’t go downstairs was to watch this?”
Ye Ran only felt his vision go dark.
Why did he have to click play right at this time? Why did Chi Yuheng have to walk in right at this time?
And why the hell were there two men on there!
Ye Ranâs face turned “red-hot.” His first reaction wasn’t to explain but to ask, “Chi Yuheng, who allowed you to come in without knocking!”
Chi Yuhengâs expression didn’t change. “Grandfather said you went upstairs to shower and hadn’t come down for a long time. He was afraid you slipped in the bathroom and asked me to come up and check. I just didn’t expect that Young Master Ye was hiding in his room to watch this…”
Ye Ranâs face was red, but he didn’t forget to argue with Chi Yuheng. “Whatâs wrong with me watching? Iâm an adult.”
“When I look for a partner in the future, I won’t need to study anymore.”
Chi Yuheng raised an eyebrow and pointed at the phone that was still publicly executing Ye Ran. “So you found a video of two men? Are you planning to find a boyfriend in the future?”
Ye Ran: “…”
With the evidence right there, should he say yes or no?
“Actually, if you want to study, I have an even faster method.” As Chi Yuheng spoke, he got onto Ye Ranâs bed.
He caught his two hands and pinned them above his head.
Chi Yuhengâs presence swept over Ye Ran overwhelmingly.
He spoke softly, “I can teach you.”
