Are You Kidding Me! After Three Years as a Stand-in, You Say I’m the White Moonlight? Chapter 33

Chapter 33: How Can Chen Wei Be So Bold?

On the projection screen in the room, images of “exercise” between two people were playing.

The unbearable sounds of panting and moaning were amplified infinitely within this excessively quiet room.

Suppressing the nausea and discomfort in his stomach, Chen Wei took off his overcoat.

Bypassing Zhang Chen, he walked to Jiang Chuan’s side without looking away.

Meeting Jiang Chuan’s humiliated and terrified gaze, Chen Wei calmly draped the coat over his body.

Setting aside the matter with Han Chi, he and Jiang Chuan didn’t actually have any major grievances.

Aside from being a bit brainless in his actions, Jiang Chuan was otherwise acceptable.

His gaze shifted back and forth between Chen Wei and Zhang Chen dozens of times. Finally, as if his conscience had finally surfaced, Jiang Chuan awkwardly avoided Chen Wei’s gaze. Lowering his head, he murmured to him in a very low voice:

“Actually, you shouldn’t have come.”

It was unclear whether Jiang Chuan’s words came from sincerity or pretense.

Without refuting him, Chen Wei stood up straight and replied calmly, “Things have to be resolved eventually.”

Chen Wei didn’t like the feeling of having a bomb buried beside him.

To return to a normal life, there had to be a conclusion to the matter with Zhang Chen.

From the moment he pushed open the door, Chen Wei had clearly perceived a greasy gaze with strong aggressive intent falling upon him.

Filled with a hunter’s greed for his prey and a sense of certain victory, that gaze had been stuck on him since he entered the room and had never been removed.

Chen Wei looked up, his cold gaze—devoid of even a hint of warmth—staring intently at Zhang Chen, who was sitting on the sofa.

Glancing at the empty space behind him, Chen Wei asked as if unintentionally:

“Boss Zhang is quite bold. You didn’t even bring a single bodyguard with you?”

Perhaps feeling that the prey was already in his grasp, Zhang Chen didn’t think twice about Chen Wei’s question.

Tugging the other end of the dog chain tied around Jiang Chuan’s neck, Zhang Chen said indifferently:

“And why wouldn’t I be? The entire Zijin International Hotel is my territory.”

Hearing this, Chen Wei only sneered.

No wonder he dared to host obscene parties so brazenly in such a place.

It turned out to be a den for such gatherings.

That made things even easier.

Withdrawing his gaze, Chen Wei lowered his eyes slightly and unceremoniously cracked his wrists in front of Zhang Chen.

Seeing Chen Wei’s movements, the scene of being beaten yesterday reflexively appeared in his mind. Zhang Chen’s hand holding the iron chain trembled subconsciously.

Swallowing his saliva, Zhang Chen followed up with a question:

“What are you trying to do?”

Chen Wei didn’t speak. The way he stared calmly at Zhang Chen carried a hint of inexplicable madness.

Especially those wrists that kept popping and cracking along with his movements.

Zhang Chen blinked.

The next second, after reacting quickly, he moved to grab the intercom on the side.

Chen Wei was faster than him, knocking him to the floor with a single punch.

Having had a prior experience, Zhang Chen ignored the pain in his body and opened his mouth to shout for help.

The bodyguards were right outside. As long as he made a sound, they could immediately rush in and pin Chen Wei to the floor.

However…

The moment he opened his mouth, it was successfully stuffed tightly with something.

“Mmph… mmph mmph…”

The sudden change caught Zhang Chen off guard.

He struggled violently in disbelief, attempting to attract the attention of the bodyguards outside by making noise.

Bang! Another heartless punch landed on his face.

The sound of a faint, muffled groan reached the ears of the bodyguards outside.

The bodyguards looked at each other, recalling the boss’s prior instructions that they were not allowed to enter the room casually no matter what sound they heard.

Based on their professional ethics as bodyguards, thinking of what was happening inside—and knowing they couldn’t leave anyway—the two simply rolled their eyes and covered their ears with their hands.

Everyone tacitly assumed that the person currently making sounds of pain in the room must undoubtedly be Chen Wei.

Only Jiang Chuan, who had witnessed everything with his own eyes, was completely dazed as he watched the scene before him.

How… how could Chen Wei be so bold?

He was slack-jawed.

His eyes blinked incessantly hundreds of times.

Shaking his head, Jiang Chuan felt that he must be hallucinating because his mind wasn’t clear.

The images on the projection screen were still playing. Chen Wei found the remote and intentionally turned the volume to the maximum.

The sickening panting in the video drifted through the non-soundproof door.

As expected, the footsteps at the entrance gradually faded away.

At this point, Chen Wei could finally let loose and do what he wanted to do.

Returning to the sofa, he casually picked up Zhang Chen’s phone.

Opening the camera, Chen Wei bent over, intending to strip Zhang Chen’s clothes.

Yet, just as his hand reached out, he seemed to think of something. After a pause, Chen Wei suddenly turned his head.

He looked at Jiang Chuan behind him, whose face was filled with an expression that was hard to distinguish between terror and worship.

With a kick, he shoved the tightly bound Zhang Chen a bit further away and sat down on the sofa.

Looking down at Jiang Chuan, who was still kneeling to the side and didn’t dare to stand up, Chen Wei grabbed his chin and warned him coldly:

“Now, you have two choices.” He said:

“First, as Zhang Chen’s accomplice, scream right now and call in all the bodyguards outside to catch me.”

“Second, as my accomplice, return everything Zhang Chen has done to you back to him in full.”

Actually, Chen Wei could have kept Jiang Chuan from wading into this muddy water.

But the reason he had come here today was, no matter how one looked at it, linked to Jiang Chuan.

The first choice was just a test; after all, after so much time, if Jiang Chuan had wanted to call for help, he would have already spoken up.

Since he hadn’t, it meant he had already silently consented to his actions against Zhang Chen.

But Chen Wei never liked to gamble on human nature.

To prevent Jiang Chuan from backstabbing him one day in the future to clear his own name.

Chen Wei could only pull him into this farce together.

“Pick one for yourself.”

Releasing his grip on him, Chen Wei stopped speaking.

He rose and pulled Zhang Chen over, using his fingerprint to unlock the phone.

He opened the photo album.

The sight of the album filled with obscene video recordings entered his vision.

Selecting them with one click, he deleted them all.

Opening the trash bin, he thoroughly cleared the recently deleted videos again.

“I’ve made up my mind,” Jiang Chuan suddenly spoke.

Chen Wei stopped his movements and looked up.

Jiang Chuan raised his head, his gaze fixed on him.

He said, “I want to be your accomplice.”

As if he had expected it, Chen Wei’s lips curled into a very shallow smile.

To be able to make such a decision with such decisiveness meant he wasn’t so stupid as to be beyond saving.

Putting away the phone, Chen Wei first found the key in the room to unlock the chain around Jiang Chuan’s neck.

Jiang Chuan was clever; as if he already knew what Chen Wei intended to do, he didn’t forget to dress himself first to cover his body.

Without Chen Wei needing to speak, the dressed Jiang Chuan had already walked up to Zhang Chen and half-squatted down with great initiative.

Turning to look at Chen Wei, Jiang Chuan took a deep breath and spoke:

“You can start recording now.”

.

Zhou Sijin received Han Chi’s call during the Old Master’s birthday banquet.

This number was his private line; few people knew it.

Initially, Zhou Sijin didn’t recognize Han Chi’s voice on the other end.

Hearing him cautiously ask if he was CEO Zhou, Zhou Sijin was immediately prepared to hang up.

“CEO… CEO Zhou, Xiao Wei… he might be in trouble.”
