Chapter 37: Just You Wait and See

“Don’t worry,” Chen Wei comforted him. “I was the one who had someone call the police.”
“Huh…?” Han Chi was stunned. “Didn’t you come to find Zhang Chen? How did the police get involved?”
Chen Wei was a celebrity. Regardless of how this ended, once he was linked to the police, his reputation was bound to be affected.
“It’s fine.” Chen Wei smiled at him, his brow filled with confidence and certainty. “Just you wait and see.”
Han Chi blinked and said nothing more. He knew Chen Wei was always a man with a plan. Since Chen Wei said it was fine, he only needed to stand by and wait for the result.
The police were efficient. They first conducted a comprehensive search of the hotel rooms for hidden pinhole cameras. Through a programmer’s recovery, they saw the full content of the recordings.
Ordinarily, a gathering of that nature would have been enough to detain the hotel owner on the spot. But no one expected the content that followed to be even more shocking.
Watching the expressions of the group of people in the room slowly become intoxicated amidst the swirling haze of smoke in the video, the captain’s face changed instantly.
Sitting in the car, Chen Wei watched from a distance as the police led drug-sniffing dogs into the hotel. He narrowed his eyes imperceptibly.

Plus, Han Chi had told him earlier about Zhang Chen’s perversions due to physical defects. A group gathering, physical defects, psychological perversion… By then, Chen Wei’s guess about Zhang Chen was practically certain.
