Chapter 4: Went to See Zhou Sijin
Because he had an announcement to catch in the afternoon, Chen Wei didn’t dare stay too long at Zhou Sijin’s place.
It was nearly noon by the time he returned to his hotel.
He was just about to slip inside quietly.
“Chen Wei!” His manager Han Chi’s voice called out unexpectedly from behind.
Chen Wei had no choice but to stop and turn around.
Even with a disguise, how could he hide from the manager he spent every day with?
Looking at Chen Wei, who was wrapped up tightly with only his eyes visible, Han Chi stepped forward and asked crossly:
“Where did you go?”
Pulling down his mask, Chen Wei didn’t hide it, stating plainly, “I went to see Zhou Sijin.”
Han Chi did know about the relationship between Chen Wei and Zhou Sijin. Being in the entertainment industry, he wasn’t particularly surprised by such things.
But he was indeed shocked that Chen Wei could actually handle Zhou Sijin so unscathed.
To be honest, on this matter, Han Chi genuinely admired Chen Wei.
“Zhou Sijin is back?” he asked.
“Yeah, he arrived last night.”
“Last night?” Han Chi’s eyes widened instantly. “So, did you already… last night?”
Knowing what Han Chi meant, Chen Wei didn’t hide anything and nodded slightly in response.
“Damn!” Han Chi’s tone carried obvious shock. His frantic gaze swept over Chen Wei repeatedly before he said deflatedly, “This is bad…”
Chen Wei was stunned at first, and it took a while for him to realize why Han Chi reacted that way.
He instinctively reached up to touch his neck.
If he remembered correctly, they had a brand endorsement photoshoot this afternoon.
Because of his disguise, Chen Wei was wrapped up tightly.
Just looking at him like this, nothing could be seen.
In the heat of the moment, Chen Wei didn’t remember if Zhou Sijin had left any marks on his neck.
If there were, it would be quite troublesome. If all else failed, he would have to use foundation to cover them up.
Back in his room, he quickly shed his heavy disguise. Chen Wei stood half-naked in front of the mirror.
Looking at his body, for a moment, Chen Wei felt that Zhou Sijin must be part dog.
On his fair skin, various mottled pink bite marks were particularly clear.
Zhou Sijin still had some conscience and hadn’t intended to make things too difficult for him.
On his exposed skin, there were only two light marks on his Adam’s apple and the back of his neck.
Though light, they would look suspicious at a glance.
Aside from necessary filming, Chen Wei wasn’t used to wearing makeup.
However, after being with Zhou Sijin for so long, he had somewhat gained an understanding of the man.
Just in case, he kept a compact in his suitcase specifically to cover up intimate marks.
After lightly concealing the marks on his body and changing into a new set of clothes, Chen Wei set off with Han Chi for the advertisement shoot.
This fashion endorsement resource was also sent to him by Zhou Sijin.
It was a derivative brand under one of Zhou Sijin’s subsidiaries, a light luxury brand targeting refined urban white-collar workers.
Participating in the shoot with Chen Wei was another rising star, Xin Xing.
Chen Wei had heard of this Xin Xing; he had become an overnight sensation in the entertainment industry because of a low-budget modern idol drama.
In terms of time in the circle, Chen Wei was his senior.
However, in the current era of “traffic,” having popularity meant having a voice in the industry.
So, for this endorsement shoot, the focus was mainly on Xin Xing.
“Xin Xing’s momentum is strong right now. Unless absolutely necessary, we should try not to have any conflict with him.”
As a manager, Han Chi dutifully briefed Chen Wei on the details to watch for during the shoot.
Chen Wei nodded slightly in response.
He wasn’t the type of person who liked to compete with others; even without Han Chi’s reminder, he knew what to do.
Initially, things were fine. Aside from the first meeting where Chen Wei greeted Xin Xing and the other party was too arrogant to acknowledge him, nothing major happened.
Fortunately, Chen Wei was used to being casual and didn’t care about such things.
However, during the formal shoot, an unintentional move by the brand designer caused Chen Wei to completely offend Xin Xing’s team.
It was simply because the same brand of clothes looked completely different on the two men.
Perhaps because of his years of dance, Chen Wei’s figure was slender yet perfectly proportioned.
When the high-end clothing was draped over Chen Wei’s near-perfect waistline, everyone present could see—even while staying silent—that Chen Wei had already outclassed the young star by several levels.
A-L’s brand focus was light luxury, so the designer was extremely satisfied with the effect the clothes had on Chen Wei.
Excitedly, he pulled Chen Wei to the photographer, demanding that he must shoot Chen Wei first.
This move naturally drew dissatisfaction from Xin Xing’s team.
But thinking of the high breach-of-contract penalty, even with their displeasure, Xin Xing’s side endured it.
Chen Wei had a beautiful build, a genuine golden ratio where the wrist line passed the crotch.
The pure cotton white sweater he wore, paired with black trousers, successfully highlighted his tight waist and shapely hips to perfection.
Chen Wei sat on the shooting platform. As various poses were captured by the flashing camera lens, they also happened to fall into the eyes of the passing Zhou Sijin.
The elegant yet hot appearance fell into Zhou Sijin’s eyes, causing his gaze to darken repeatedly.
Today was the day Zhou Sijin came to inspect the branch office.
The General Manager had told him that a celebrity was filming an ad today and asked if he wanted to take a look.
Because he thought of Chen Wei, Zhou Sijin didn’t refuse the proposal.
And because of that, he had the pleasure of seeing this eye-catching scene.
The General Manager was a shrewd man. He could guess a bit about the “affair” between Zhou Sijin and Chen Wei from the expression on the man’s face.
Originally, with Chen Wei’s status, this endorsement would have never fallen to him.
But Chen Wei was someone sent from above.
Exactly who sent him, the General Manager didn’t know.
But judging from the current situation, it was likely none other than his own big boss.
As a subordinate, pleasing the boss was an innate instinct.
The General Manager’s gaze fell on Chen Wei in the studio, and he began to wonder if he should arrange for Chen Wei and his boss to meet.
In order not to interrupt Chen Wei’s work, Zhou Sijin didn’t disturb him. He stayed outside the studio for a while before leaving with the General Manager.
Zhou Sijin walked in front.
Behind him, the General Manager winked at his capable assistant toward the studio.
The assistant immediately understood and, after they left, quietly slipped back into the studio.
