Are You Kidding Me! After Three Years as a Stand-in, You Say I’m the White Moonlight? Chapter 8

Chapter 8: He Hasn’t Tried the Office Yet

The three characters “Zhou Fei’en” on the ID card caught Chen Wei’s attention.

Chen Wei was surprised. “Your surname is also Zhou?”

“Hmm?” Finn was confused. “Is there a problem?”

Chen Wei shook his head. “It’s just that I happen to have a friend whose surname is also Zhou.”

“Is that so? What a coincidence,” Finn smiled.

Chen Wei said, “So, you’re called Fei’en not because your English name is Finn, but because your name was originally Fei’en?”

Finn was kept laughing by Chen Wei’s cute remark:

“My mommy chose it. She said that way I could have a Chinese name and an English name at the same time.”

Listening to Finn’s explanation, Chen Wei instinctively felt that Finn’s parents must also be a pair of interesting people like Finn.

Finn seemed to see through his thoughts. “If there’s a chance, I’ll take you to meet my mommy. She’ll definitely like you as much as I do.”

Influenced by his mother, Finn had a bit of foreign passion and openness in his bones.

Later, because he studied design, he stayed abroad for many years, so his way of speaking was somewhat direct and regardless of the occasion, but most of the time, there was no malice.

Chen Wei had gained a general understanding of his personality.

He silently gave a look to Han Chi on the side, and Han Chi immediately understood the meaning in his eyes.

Often at times like this, the role of a manager should be brought into play.

He first spoke to Finn in the company’s name about the situation Chen Wei was worried about, and then apologetically stated that if he had a need, as long as Chen Wei had free time, he could come and be his model at any time in the name of a friend.

Hearing this, Finn immediately understood Chen Wei’s meaning.

“So you were worried about that!”

From Finn’s tone, it sounded like the thing he was worried about wasn’t even a big deal in his eyes.

“How so?” Chen Wei asked.

“Hai! I almost forgot to tell you—A-L is actually a light luxury brand I created myself after returning to the country, so you don’t need to have that concern at all.”

“As for the clothes you wear for events, if you’re worried, it can be entirely in my private name.”

As he spoke, he seemed to suddenly remember something and quickly pulled his phone from his pocket:

“Since I’m inviting you to be my exclusive model, I think I still need to apply to the higher-ups to let you be A-L’s global spokesperson.”

Global spokesperson?

Chen Wei was stunned!

The A-L brand had only been established for half a year and had quickly opened up the domestic light luxury market.

It was bound to expand abroad in the future.

Once Chen Wei became A-L’s global spokesperson, he would also gain a certain amount of fame abroad because of A-L.

So, being A-L’s global spokesperson only had benefits and no drawbacks for Chen Wei.

Chen Wei was a bit excited.

This was the first time he had obtained such an excellent resource not by relying on Zhou Sijin, but solely through his own ability.

Finn was a man of action and immediately turned to make a phone call.

Chen Wei stood in place, still a bit unable to believe it.

Han Chi nudged him with his elbow. “Is what that Finn said true or false? Does he really have that much power?”

Chen Wei shook his head.

To be honest, he didn’t know either.

But even if it didn’t work out, it was fine. It was already very good of Finn to be willing to speak up for him.

Chen Wei was wondering: could the person “above” that Finn mentioned be Zhou Sijin?

But it seemed unlikely. How could a busy man like Zhou Sijin waste time on such a thing?

Chen Wei imagined if he asked Zhou Sijin for this global spokesperson slot, would Zhou Sijin actually give it to him?

In the end, Chen Wei smiled.

How had he even started to have expectations of Zhou Sijin?

Was it really the so-called “love growing over time” that others spoke of?

Chen Wei immediately readjusted his mood and smothered that thought in his heart.

This was truly too dangerous!

Finn returned very quickly.

With a smile on his face, he brought back good news for Chen Wei.

“The higher-ups agreed to let you be A-L’s global spokesperson!”

“Huh?” Chen Wei completely didn’t expect things to go so smoothly.

“Don’t the people above need to see me? It’s decided just like that?”

Speaking of this, Finn was a bit proud: “A-L is my own brand. If they dare to disagree, I’ll just take A-L and move out of here.”

Knowing that Finn had used such a high price to win this global spokesperson opportunity for him, Chen Wei was so moved he didn’t know what to say.

As the largest clothing company in the country, Borai saw A-L as only one series among their thousands of brands.

Finn’s actions were equivalent to gambling his own future to win the global spokesperson position for him.

Chen Wei kept this kindness in his heart.

He exchanged contact information with Finn and added him on WeChat.

Finn told him that the legal department would contact them in a couple of days to renegotiate the endorsement, and not long after, he was called away.

Chen Wei snapped back to reality; on the other side, the people from Xin Xing’s team were long gone.

Chen Wei still remembered the assistant’s words about a high-level executive wanting to see him. He said goodbye to Han Chi and went outside.

Following behind the assistant, Chen Wei probed indirectly, wanting to know exactly who wanted to see him.

The assistant was mysterious; although he revealed some things, he didn’t reveal everything.

The assistant didn’t know about the affair between Chen Wei and Zhou Sijin and only did as the General Manager instructed.

Thinking of the General Manager’s arrangements, he only turned his head to say to Chen Wei:

“Your chance has come. You must grab it firmly later.”

Although Chen Wei was confused, he still successfully heard a bit of a “hidden rules” implication from the assistant’s words.

He wondered: did Zhou Sijin not tell the people in the company that he was the one who sent him here?

Chen Wei’s head was full of question marks, unable to figure out exactly what had gone wrong in the middle.

Until the assistant led him to a stop in front of the CEO’s office door, then opened it and said to him:

“Go in.”

Chen Wei walked woodenly into the office.

Before closing the door, the assistant didn’t forget to give him a thoughtful warning:

“Keep your hands and feet in check, and don’t touch the things in the room. Otherwise, if you accidentally make the boss angry, no one can save you.”

With a “bang,” the door was closed.

Chen Wei blinked, then began to scan the CEO’s office.

He started guessing whether the person who would open the door and come in later would be Zhou Sijin.

Bored with waiting, Chen Wei simply made a bet with himself.

There was a private lounge in the CEO’s office.

Without thinking much, Chen Wei opened the lounge door and walked straight in.

Closing the door.

Chen Wei went to the bathroom and cleaned himself thoroughly.

After wiping off the water droplets on his body, he pulled back the blanket on the bed and lay down just like that.

Chen Wei thought: if it really was Zhou Sijin, he actually hadn’t tried the “office flavor” yet.

On the contrary, if it wasn’t Zhou Sijin…

Chen Wei’s lips curled into a slight hook.
