Can a Naive Man Be a Heartthrob in a Bizarre World? Chapter 83.1

Chapter 83 part 1

Luo Shizhen felt that perhaps that blade of grass really had been a bit poisonous.

After eating it, he became overcome with drowsiness. However, aside from wanting to sleep, he didn’t feel uncomfortable anywhere else.

Yawning every few minutes, he accelerated his pace to quickly treat the remaining patients. Once finished, he headed back to his room in a daze, intent on sleep.

Usually, Luo Shizhen was a hundred times more energetic than anyone else, like a sturdy little calf, happily bustling about with this or that every day. Today, he had suddenly wilted, and those around him feared he had fallen ill and wanted to take him to the hospital.

In the car, Luo Shizhen leaned his head against Chu Xiao’s shoulder while yawning.

“I’m not going to the hospital. Nothing else feels wrong; I’m just sleepy.”

Luo Shizhen had slept a lot as a child, but as he grew up, he became more like an ordinary person. Now, however, he felt as though he had returned to that childhood state where no amount of sleep was ever enough.

Exhausted to the limit, he didn’t want to do anything except have a good night’s sleep.

In reality, he wanted to sleep right then and there, but his mind still vaguely remembered that he needed to shower and make the bed before sleeping, so he forced himself to stay awake.

However, as he leaned against Chu Xiao’s shoulder, his eyes kept drifting shut. Then, remembering something, he would quickly snap them open, repeating this cycle of closing and opening until anyone watching felt the urge to tell him to just give in and go to sleep.

Chu Xiao worriedly touched his forehead. “How did you suddenly become this sleepy? Did you not sleep well last night?”

Luo Shizhen’s brain felt like mush, and even shaking his head was difficult. “I don’t remember.”

He let out another yawn. “Are we home yet?”

Xiao Shan, who was driving, hurriedly said, “Almost, almost. If you really want to sleep, just go ahead. Once we arrive, I’ll carry you down and put you in bed.”

Even in his muddled state, Luo Shizhen remembered that this wouldn’t do.

The good habit of showering before bed that he had cultivated since childhood could not be broken like this.

“I haven’t showered yet. You have to shower before bed to be clean.”

Xiao Shan was truly exasperated. He was so sleepy, yet he was still thinking about showering before bed.

Chu Xiao, however, knew Luo Shizhen’s stubborn streak. In ordinary matters, Luo Shizhen was very good at taking advice, but once something was truly buried in his heart—like “showering before bed,” “not being a financial burden on elders,” or “studying seriously”—once he set his mind to it, it didn’t matter what anyone said.

Because Luo Shizhen truly didn’t have a fever, didn’t feel uncomfortable anywhere else besides the drowsiness, and was absolutely unwilling to go to the hospital, they could only humor him and bring him back to his room.

At the door, Xiao Shan and Wen Hu tried to help him to the bed, coaxing him by saying, “You’ve already showered. Hurry up and go to sleep.”

Luo Shizhen was dazed. “Me? I finished?”

How come he didn’t remember finishing?

Xiao Shan lied without blinking: “Yes, you finished. We watched you wash.”

Luo Shizhen didn’t quite believe it, but he couldn’t remember if he had washed or not. He called out to Chu Xiao, “Chu Xiao, did I use soap?”

Chu Xiao held him down as he tried to get up. “You did. You’re very clean right now. Go to sleep.”

Xiao Shan took off his shoes and socks. Lin Ke stood by to remove his makeup. Chu Xiao and Cheng Yunshao each took off his shirt and pants, while Rong Nian and Lu Qiujin stood by to hand over the makeup removal tools.

Luo Shizhen sank into the bed and was quickly covered with a quilt, sleeping in the comfortable and soft large bed.

The moment his head hit the pillow, his breathing suddenly became even and calm, and his slightly furrowed, confused brows smoothed out comfortably.

The group breathed a sigh of relief. Xiao Shan light-footedly tucked in the corners of the quilt. Still uneasy, he took out an electronic thermometer and re-measured his temperature. After confirming everything was fine, he finally straightened his back.

Cheng Yunshao adjusted the room’s temperature and humidity. When he returned, he found the group still gathered around the bed, with no one suggesting they leave.

“Let’s go. Let him have a good sleep. I’ve set up a safety alarm system in the room. If Shizhen wakes up in the middle of the night feeling unwell, we’ll receive an alert.”

Fearing he would disturb Luo Shizhen, he kept his voice very low, but everyone heard him. After looking at Luo Shizhen with lingering worry, they all light-footedly walked out.

The door was gently closed. After leaving, none of them suggested returning to their own rooms or doing anything else. They simply chose seats on the living room sofa and stayed there, refusing to leave.

This way, if Luo Shizhen needed anything, they were close enough to hear immediately.

Inside the adjusted, comfortable room, the curtains had been specifically drawn, leaving the surroundings in darkness. After a few minutes, the slumbering Luo Shizhen suddenly sat up.

He remembered.

He hadn’t showered!

Luo Shizhen’s legs felt like jelly, yet he was still thinking about showering. He supported himself against the bed and stood up, intent on heading to the bathroom.

His originally strong and powerful legs were somehow incredibly weak today. With every step he took, his feet would give way, causing him to slip to the side.

However, Luo Shizhen hadn’t attended combat classes for nothing. Reflexively, he tried to tighten his core to support himself.

He didn’t hold up.

But he didn’t fall, either.

Several semi-transparent threads of spiritual power wound around him, like a woven chair, allowing him to steady himself and leverage their strength.

Luo Shizhen was dazed for a moment. He instinctively touched the threads in front of him, trying to use his mushy brain to think. Before his brain could come up with anything, his body instinctively gave a greeting.

“Hello, Sui-laoshi.”

“Thank you, Sui-laoshi.”

The spiritual power, of course, could not respond. It only continued to serve as Luo Shizhen’s walking aid, guiding him all the way to the bathroom.

Just as he was delivered through the door, Luo Shizhen raised his hands and began struggling to take off his shirt.

He usually liked to wear loose-fitting clothes that completely concealed his figure. Now, with his movements, the firm and full chest that was normally hidden under his clothes and only faintly visible became partially revealed.

The lifted corner of his shirt exposed the beautiful abdominal muscles he had gained through hard training. They weren’t excessively exaggerated, but no one would doubt the explosive power contained within them.

Luo Shizhen suddenly noticed that the spiritual power that had seemed omnipresent was abruptly retracted.

Fortunately, he was already leaning against the bathroom wall. Although he had lost the support of the spiritual threads, he still stood steadily.

Because of his drowsiness, the young man’s brain was slow to react. He stood in a daze for a short while before politely calling out toward the door:

“Goodbye, Sui-laoshi.”

The water poured down. His hands and feet were weak, yet he still seriously cleaned himself.

After ensuring he was clean, Luo Shizhen didn’t dry his hair. He wiped it haphazardly and then lay down on the bed.

Among his “iron rules,” there was only the requirement to shower before bed; there was no requirement to dry his hair. Drying was good, of course, but not drying was also acceptable.

The young man, his face flushed with satisfaction, sank into the bedding and entered a state of sleep once more.

Naturally, he wouldn’t know that the room’s window had opened, and a slender man had leaped inside with a graceful bound.

He had restrained his aura. The gap between a high-rank Awakener and young students was such that the others guarding outside didn’t notice a single thing.

Sui An walked to the bedside and looked at Luo Shizhen’s wet hair. He went to the bathroom, took out the hairdryer, and turned on the silent mode.

Because many Awakeners suffered from neurasthenia, Yongzhou didn’t just develop various combat products; they also handled daily necessities for Awakeners. This hairdryer was one such item, truly achieving complete silence with almost zero noise.

In the dim room, the man’s long, powerful hand gently supported the sleeper’s neck with one hand while drying the slumbering young man’s hair with the other.

He certainly wouldn’t do this for any other team member.

The physical constitution of an Awakener was powerful. Forget going to sleep without drying their hair; even if they slept for an entire night soaked in cold water, no problems would arise.

But Luo Shizhen was a bit different.

This well-behaved child was usually very focused on cleanliness and hygiene. Sometimes, Sui An even felt he was like a sea otter.

No matter what a sea otter was doing every day, it would carve out time to busily and frequently groom its fur and clean its “den,” making its fur look fluffy and comfortable.

Luo Shizhen was exactly like that. Aside from not having fur, he was practically identical to a sea otter.

He had been working quite hard these past few days.

Sui An didn’t involve himself in the students’ missions, at most helping out with small things when they asked. However, he had been silently watching all along and could naturally see clearly that Luo Shizhen treated purifying patients as if it were a full-time job.

If it were just to build a reputation, he could have easily seen only a few patients a day.

Yet he saw dozens of people a day, purifying them and exhausting himself to this extent.

How could he be so foolish?
