“En.” Jiang Chenyan’s mind cleared up a bit. “Killed him.”
With that, he propped himself up with his arms. His hair was a bit messy, and there was still a hint of sleepiness in his eyes. He tilted his head to look at Shen Shiyue. “Hungry. Let’s go down and eat.”
Shen Shiyue’s fingertips paused. He immediately closed the light-brain. “Alright.”
The two went downstairs side-by-side. The dining room already had warm meals prepared. After finishing, Shen Shiyue wiped the corners of his lips and said softly, “I still have some official business to handle. If you’re tired, go rest for a bit longer.”
Jiang Chenyan nodded. Lately, he had to keep a close eye on the media’s movements at all times and didn’t dare slack off. After all, Ye Qingyu was now wanted across the whole interstellar world; if she was caught, it would be over.
Although he had nodded, he didn’t actually rest.
Over the next few weeks, Jiang Chenyan, Kai Lan, and the others were secretly maneuvering and playing a game of chess with Cyrus’s side. Both sides had their own thoughts. On the surface, things were calm, but in reality, they were constantly testing each other. They didn’t dare to be careless for a second, fearing they would show a loophole and be caught.
He thought this peace could last a while longer, but he hadn’t expected something to happen with Xiao Yi. Because the hiding place was accidentally exposed, Jiang Xuanshen had forcefully taken Xiao Yi away. Now, they knew nothing about where he was or his situation, unable to find even a hint of news.
Besides Jiang Chenyan, Ji Xuan was the most worried. He was completely drained of spirit and huddled by Jiang Chenyan to sob and complain: “It’s all my fault. So Jiang Chenyan thought of a nasty trick. He would find a drifter, knock him unconscious, and restrain him for a few days, using his identity to sneak into the Jiang family.
After all, no matter how many documents they forged, they were still fake and couldn’t withstand a close check. Only a real identity could hide from Jiang Xuanshen’s eyes and ears.
He was going to be a servant in the Jiang family to search for Xiao Yi’s tracks from up close.
After Shen Shiyue heard Jiang Chenyan’s plan, he didn’t agree, his face turning black. “Risking yourself again? There’s no need to involve yourself.”

Shen Shiyue’s face was so dark it could drip water. He refused to relent. Seeing this, Jiang Chenyan softened his tone and coaxed the other for a long time, even calling him “husband” several times. Only then did Shen Shiyue compromise and relent.
How many times had this been? Shen Shiyue couldn’t say.

After two years, Jiang Chenyan finally stepped back into the Jiang family home. The familiar outline of the villa hit his eyes, and fragments of the past surged up. He couldn’t say how it felt.

Father and Mother Jiang were indeed angry about Jiang Xuanshen privately imprisoning an Omega, but they simply couldn’t control their paranoid and mad eldest son.
The surveillance revealed that Jiang Xuanshen would return to the Jiang home in two days. This was an opportunity; he could plant a tracker on Jiang Xuanshen then, though it would be very risky.
Over the next few days, Jiang Chenyan kept a close eye on the surveillance. He didn’t find any more clues about Xiao Yi, but instead, he caught the filth beneath the surface of the Jiang family. Father and Mother Jiang each had their own flings and kept people in private.
Looking at the two of them acting like a loving, hypocritical couple on screen, Jiang Chenyan suddenly wasn’t sure if he really was Father Jiang’s biological son.
In any case, it was hard to say.
On the day Jiang Xuanshen arrived, Jiang Chenyan followed the plan and approached him with hot tea. Seizing the moment he was close, he deliberately tripped. Scalding tea was splashed all over Jiang Xuanshen.
In the chaos, a tracker had been silently attached to the seam of the fabric on Jiang Xuanshen’s lower back. The movement was so fast it didn’t leave a trace.
Jiang Xuanshen was incredibly angry and issued an order to fire Jiang Chen on the spot.
Jiang Chenyan lowered his head to hide the dark light in his eyes. He kept his lips pressed together, not daring to show his smile.
… The plan worked, but given the commotion, Jiang Xuanshen looked like he wanted to hack him to pieces.
Jiang Chenyan left the Jiang family home without earning a single cent in pay. He was even scolded to his face by the steward for being a jinx. He didn’t bother to argue. After leaving, he opened his light-brain.
The tracking point was moving and jumping on the screen. He flew a small airship slowly behind Jiang Xuanshen’s airship, taking his time.
However, the surroundings grew increasingly strange. When he chased them to the desolate outskirts, a group of black mechas suddenly charged out, surrounding him so tightly not even water could leak through. Jiang Chenyan stared at the stationary tracking point on the screen and went silent.
With a boom, the airship door was violently blown open. Several black-clad Alpha bodyguards charged in, roughly dragging Jiang Chenyan out and slamming him down before Jiang Xuanshen.
Jiang Chenyan was forced onto both knees. He looked up to meet Jiang Xuanshen’s cold, ruthless gaze from above. That look was steeped in murderous intent.
“A tracker? You dare follow me?” Jiang Xuanshen sneered, mocking the other for overestimating his own strength.
“Why follow me? Want to kill me?”
Jiang Chenyan tilted his chin. “Because you kidnapped my brother.”
Jiang Xuanshen’s eyebrow tilted, and impatience churned in his eyes. “What do you mean?”
“My brother is Xiao Yi.” Jiang Chenyan spoke with a calm expression, talking nonsense with a straight face.
These words instantly ignited Jiang Xuanshen’s anger. He leaned down and pinched Jiang Chenyan’s cheeks, his knuckles white from the force. “Xiao Yi has no biological brothers. You dare lie to me?”
Jiang Chenyan endured the pain in his cheeks. “What do you know? He’s not my biological brother, but he’s closer than one.”
Jiang Xuanshen: “…”
Jiang Chenyan continued, “You can’t kill me. Xiao Yi and I have a very good relationship; we’re already like family. If you kill me, he’ll hate you for the rest of his life once he finds out.”
The hand pinching Jiang Chenyan’s cheek suddenly tightened. His expression was terrifyingly dark. He knew that what Jiang Chenyan said was the truth. After being imprisoned, Xiao Yi had almost no will to live, seeking death every day. His nature was as stubborn as a rock, and Jiang Xuanshen was at his wit’s end.
Keeping this person was perfect for threatening Xiao Yi and forcing him to be obedient.
Jiang Xuanshen’s fingertips loosened their force slightly. He leaned down to warn Jiang Chenyan: “If I find out you dare to lie to me, I’ll kill you immediately. I won’t even leave your ashes behind.”
Jiang Chenyan was about to nod perfunctorily when the back of his neck was slammed down by a bodyguard. A fine needle was stuck in before he could react.
