Cannon Fodder O Pretending to be A Will Lose Their Vest Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Covered in Hickeys — Crematorium (Asura Field) / Shen Shiyue: Lying to You, the Hickeys…

Jiang Chenyan secretly felt his luck was bad. How did he run into him here? His brow furrowed.

“Can you move aside?”

Mu Sian didn’t move. He looked down and stared directly at Jiang Chenyan, his eyes darkening. “Why are you dressed so…”

Slutty.

He didn’t say the last word, but his gaze deliberately swept over Jiang Chenyan’s body.

The white shirt had two buttons intentionally undone. The hem was casually tucked into his black trousers, revealing a looming line at his waist and hips. A bracelet made of bottle caps hung around his wrist.

It was clearly a standard bartender’s outfit, yet it was exceptionally… provocative.

Mu Sian curled his lips into a light smile, his gaze sweeping over Jiang Chenyan’s abdomen. “Dressed like this, being just a bartender is a waste.”

Jiang Chenyan’s brow snapped into a frown, and his face visibly coldened to the naked eye.

Jeering voices came from behind. Someone craned their neck and laughed, “Ah, Mu-ge knows this server?”

The person beside him added with a teasing tone, “Don’t call him names. He’s a proper bartender.”

“Haha, so what if he’s a bartender? Is there a difference between the two?”

“That’s true…”

Jiang Chenyan’s Adam’s apple rolled. He would endure.

After a good while, he suppressed the bitterness in his heart and said in a raspy voice, “I’m going to mix the drinks.”

Just as he was about to bypass Mu Sian from the other side, his wrist was caught by a firm grip.

Mu Sian looked down, his voice right at Jiang Chenyan’s ear. “Where are you going?”

His gaze swept over the floor. The remains of the shattered goblets mixed with the amber liquor, glinting under the lights.

The man who had collided with Jiang Chenyan just now had sweat on his forehead and a face as white as paper. He was panicked by Mu Sian’s stare. “S-sorry… I didn’t mean to knock the drinks over…”

Mu Sian’s knuckles tightened slightly, and his grip on Jiang Chenyan’s wrist grew even stronger. His eyes suddenly darkened like ink that wouldn’t disperse. “What happened here?”

These words were addressed to the man, but his gaze swept over everyone present. The chill in his voice made the noisy room fall silent instantly.

Someone couldn’t help but speak first. “Ah, it’s just that Brother Yu wanted to play something different. He was messing around with that server just now, and the guy was so scared he ran away. He just happened to collide with this bartender who was bringing drinks, so the liquor spilled…”

Mu Sian didn’t speak after listening. His fingertips stroked the skin on Jiang Chenyan’s wrist. After a long while, he finally looked up at Jiang Chenyan. “You don’t need to go downstairs either. Haven’t the drinks already been delivered? Stay here and play.”

Jiang Chenyan’s face turned completely cold. “Let go.”

Instead, Mu Sian’s fingers tightened further as he pulled the person toward himself. A casual smile curled on his lips. “Playing won’t take a piece of your flesh. Your wages will still be paid; I’ll tell your boss later.”

Jiang Chenyan’s temples throbbed, and his patience was entirely exhausted. The novelty of his first day on the job had been ground away long ago.

Why was he so unlucky?

It seemed Mu Sian was a regular at this lounge.

He forcefully struggled with his wrist. “Can you stop affecting my work?” Seeing that Mu Sian still wouldn’t let go, he took a deep breath. “I’m going to resign right now.”

Jiang Chenyan exerted a sudden force and threw off Mu Sian’s hand. The force was so great that he even stumbled back half a step.

His breathing became short and shallow. He just wanted to leave this godforsaken place as soon as possible.

He didn’t look back, walking toward the door. Just as his fingertips touched the cold door handle, the whispers behind him drifted over.

“Whoa. First time I’ve seen someone dare to disrespect Mu-ge like that. That’s quite some guts.”

“Isn’t it? Look at that haughty attitude of his. He really thinks he’s something. He’s just a bartender.”

“Shh, stop talking. Mu-ge hasn’t even spoken.”

The cold metal door handle still carried the warmth lingering from his palm. The door hinge made a click. Just as Jiang Chenyan pushed it open a crack, a force slammed it back, shutting it once more.

Mu Sian stood behind Jiang Chenyan, his well-defined fingers pressing against the door panel. His shadow almost completely enveloped him as a low voice wrapped in chill spoke: “I’m not going to eat you. Why resign?”

Jiang Chenyan kept his eyes lowered, his eyelashes casting a shallow shadow. The knuckles gripping the door handle were white.

He took a deep breath, trying to suppress his surging emotions. “Does what I want to do have anything to do with you? Can you stay away from me?”

Disgust and rejection coiled around his heart like vines, impossible to suppress.

Mu Sian’s silhouette overlapped before his eyes, gradually merging with that figure who had held up the paddle at the auction.

That day, Mu Sian had held up his number and bought him for eighty million Star Credits—

Jiang Chenyan’s eyes narrowed abruptly, his fingertips unconsciously tightening. How could he have forgotten? Back then, Xie Huaijin and Mu Sian were both invited guests at the auction. In the end, when the case was judged, nothing happened to either of them; they were safe and sound.

The Protagonist Gongs in the book were almost all morally ambiguous figures. Bright on the surface, who knew how much calculation they hid in the shadows?

Therefore, could he suspect Xie Huaijin and Mu Sian?

Those two were already involved in something unclear; it wouldn’t be surprising if they were in league with Lode.

Mu Sian captured the distance and hostility coming from Jiang Chenyan. He was so angry he laughed. “Why go this far? Holding a grudge against me over a small matter?”

Jiang Chenyan spoke coldly, “Do you want to hear the truth?”

“Ha.” Mu Sian was furious, his breathing becoming heavy. His eyes cooled inch by inch. He wished he could just pry open Jiang Chenyan’s head and see what was inside.

“Get out.”

Those two words were squeezed from between Mu Sian’s teeth, cold to the extreme.

Jiang Chenyan didn’t look at him, reaching out directly to pull the door handle. Just as his fingertips touched the cold metal, he found the door remained motionless.

He looked up. Mu Sian’s hand was still firmly pressing against the door panel.

What did this mean?

Jiang Chenyan looked up. Before the curse at the tip of his tongue could escape, Mu Sian spoke first.

“I didn’t tell you to get out.” Mu Sian bypassed Jiang Chenyan and turned to the others in the room, his words dripping with pressure. “You all, get out.”

“Mu-ge?” Someone instinctively spoke, sounding bewildered.

“We’re going out?”

Did they hear wrong?

Jiang Chenyan frowned. “Mu Sian, what kind of madness are you falling into?”

Mu Sian didn’t even spare a glance for Jiang Chenyan. He looked at the others, his voice cold. “I won’t say it a second time.”

The people in the room froze. No one dared to say another word; they could only obediently file out one by one. They knew clearly in their hearts that, setting aside Mu Sian’s identity, given his current state, no one could afford to offend him.

Working against Mu Sian right now was purely looking for trouble.

It wasn’t until the first person moved to the door that Mu Sian slowly released his hand from the door. That person looked as if they’d received a great pardon, pulled open the door, and walked out quickly.

Without a second of hesitation, Jiang Chenyan followed those people toward the door. Before he could take half a step, Mu Sian grabbed his back collar. In the next second, a brute force dragged him back into the room. The collar tightened around his neck, making his breathing instantly stagnant. He grabbed his collar with both hands, struggling desperately. “Mu Sian!”

This man must be crazy!

Watching himself get further and further from the door, out of the corner of his eye, the last person to leave cast him a glance. Then, there was a click

That light sound was like a shackle, completely sealing off his path of retreat.

The door was shut tight, and the room fell into a deathly silence.

Mu Sian looked down at Jiang Chenyan, his voice cold and hard. “Now we can talk properly, can’t we?”

He didn’t hold back his strength, throwing Jiang Chenyan hard onto the sofa. Jiang Chenyan’s back hit the armrest, the pain making him knit his brows.

Mu Sian immediately followed, leaning down to press over him. Jiang Chenyan was furious. He raised a fist and swung it toward the man’s face.

The punch was both sudden and fierce. Mu Sian was caught off guard and was forced to rise and dodge.

Jiang Chenyan propped himself up on the sofa armrest and stood abruptly, his back still aching faintly. “What the hell do you want?”

“I already said I wanted you to play with me for a bit.” Mu Sian straightened his body. His fingertips casually stroked the hem of his clothes where the punch had grazed him. He let out a light laugh. “It’s not like you’ll lose anything. I haven’t done anything to you, have I?”

“I already said I don’t want to. Can you f*ck off?” Jiang Chenyan’s eyes were filled with disgust. He turned to avoid Mu Sian’s reaching hand and turned to walk toward the door.

Just as he took a step, the back of his neck was seized by Mu Sian. A brute force yanked him forward, and he fell heavily to the floor.

The moment his elbow hit the floorboards, he knocked over the nearby table. The glass on the table smashed onto the floor, splinters flying everywhere.

Mu Sian looked down, staring at the back of Jiang Chenyan’s head as it rested on the floorboards. His gaze slowly slid over the lines of his neck.

A few drops of dark red wine were seeping down his collar, staining his white skin with small marks.

His Adam’s apple rolled unconsciously. A surge of heat suddenly rose from his heart. His mouth was parched, and his palms became scalding.

“Jiang Chenyan.” Mu Sian’s voice carried a hint of a husky smile. He pressed in at Jiang Chenyan’s ear: “Now, the game begins.”

Jiang Chenyan’s heart tightened. Game, my ass.

His hand searched blindly on the floor. The moment his fingertips touched a fallen wine bottle, he gripped it tight and swung it at the back of Mu Sian’s head without a shred of hesitation.

With a dull thud, the wine bottle shattered. Blood instantly seeped from the top of Mu Sian’s head. He let out a muffled groan of pain, and his grip on Jiang Chenyan finally loosened.

Jiang Chenyan kicked him away.

“F*ck.” Mu Sian cursed through gritted teeth, reaching up to press his bleeding wound.

Jiang Chenyan propped himself up on the floor. Without giving Mu Sian another look, he stumbled toward the door.

Just as he reached the door, he still turned his head to glance back. Mu Sian was frozen in place. Blood was flowing down from his temple, staining half his face crimson. His originally handsome features were now covered in blood, like a malevolent spirit newly crawled from the depths of hell.

Jiang Chenyan frantically turned the door handle, but the metal lock core didn’t move. The door had been locked from the outside.

unbelievable…

The sound of footsteps came from behind. Turning his head, he ran right into Mu Sian’s gaze. The blood was still flowing from his temple, staining his face. He was approaching step by step.

Before he could react, Mu Sian had pounced. The two grappled on the floor.

Jiang Chenyan didn’t hold back his strength, every punch hitting home. Mu Sian didn’t fare well; he only bled more.

In the chaos, the back of Jiang Chenyan’s head accidentally hit the corner of the table. A sharp pain instantly exploded. His vision began to spin, and the sounds in his ears grew blurry.

“What’s wrong with you?” Mu Sian’s voice came from above. “Jiang Chenyan, weren’t you fighting quite happily just now?”

He was only making a joke; he truly didn’t want the guy to get hurt.

Mu Sian also panicked a bit. An unknown emotion welled up as he reached out a finger to check Jiang Chenyan’s breath.

Jiang Chenyan’s consciousness grew heavier. Vaguely, he seemed to hear a loud crash near the door. He didn’t know what happened as he sank completely into darkness.

His awareness had drifted far away. His eyelids were too heavy to lift. Yet, in the chaos, he smelled a familiar scent.

His tense nerves gradually relaxed. He let his consciousness sink bit by bit.

The kicked-open door was still swaying. The moment Shen Shiyue rushed in, he was first drawn to Jiang Chenyan on the floor.

Seeing the person on the floor looking pale and unconscious, a chill instantly filled his eyes. Without a word, he rushed forward and began to grapple with Mu Sian.

“Can’t you calm down?” Mu Sian turned to dodge, the blood still flowing from his temple.

“No.” Shen Shiyue’s voice was as cold as ice as he threw another straight punch.

Mu Sian had already been hit by Jiang Chenyan and was bleeding. Facing Shen Shiyue’s attack, he had little ability to fight back.

He had just dodged one of Shen Shiyue’s punches when he took a solid blow to his ribs. The pain made him let out a muffled groan.

Afterward, he fell completely into a passive state, only able to repeatedly retreat and block. He was covered in more and more blood—a total mess.

Today was truly unlucky. First, he was beaten by Jiang Chenyan, and then by Shen Shiyue. It was almost a tag-team beating.

In the end, Shen Shiyue half-supported and half-carried the unconscious Jiang Chenyan, leaving without looking back. Only Mu Sian was left alone in the trashed room.

Blood flowed from his temple, and his mouth was injured.

Mu Sian, who had always been in control of everything, was in such a wretched state for the first time.

His consciousness was like being submerged in water and slowly floating up. When Jiang Chenyan opened his eyes, the first thing that met his sight was the familiar ceiling.

The dorm…

He moved his fingers. He didn’t feel any significant pain. Thinking back carefully, he remembered that aside from hitting his head and fainting at the end, he didn’t seem to have suffered any major injuries. However, he had no memory of the subsequent chaos.

Surely Mu Sian didn’t do something to him after he fainted?

However, looking at the current situation, someone must have brought him back.

And that person was ten to one Shen Shiyue.

The door was pushed open gently. Shen Shiyue walked in holding a water cup. Seeing him awake, he stepped forward quickly. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” Jiang Chenyan propped himself up.

Shen Shiyue’s gaze landed on him. He paused before speaking: “It’s good you’re okay.” His fingers curled unconsciously, and he looked as if he wanted to say something but was hesitating. Finally, he pointed to Jiang Chenyan’s neck: “Your neck.”

“Huh?” Jiang Chenyan instinctively felt his neck. It did hurt a bit; it must have been injured during the fight last night. He looked at Shen Shiyue in confusion. “What’s wrong with my neck?”

“When I rescued you and brought you back, it was covered in hickeys.” Shen Shiyue’s brow furrowed tight. “At the time, Mu Sian was right beside you.”

Jiang Chenyan felt as if he’d been struck by lightning. His face turned pale. What?

Even his fingers couldn’t stop trembling. He opened his mouth to curse. “Let me see a mirror…”

Seeing this, Shen Shiyue handed him a mirror.

One look in the mirror, and Jiang Chenyan was so angry he saw black.

His neck was densely covered in dark red marks. They were like ugly brands crawling across his snowy skin. Some areas even showed slight swelling.

Perhaps seeing that his expression was too ugly, Shen Shiyue quickly stepped forward and pulled him into a tight embrace. He comforted him: “It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s all my fault for not coming sooner.” He paused, then added: “He only bit your neck. He didn’t do anything else excessive.”

Jiang Chenyan buried himself in Shen Shiyue’s embrace, his eyes lowered. His eyelashes cast a cold shadow.

Mu Sian—he would remember this debt.

“I knew he was disgusting, but I didn’t expect him to be this disgusting.”

Hearing this, Shen Shiyue said nothing. He only raised his hand and gently patted Jiang Chenyan’s shoulder.

However, when Jiang Chenyan turned back to the mirror, his attention completely drawn by the marks on his neck, the hand Shen Shiyue had at his side slowly retracted. The corners of his mouth turned up, curling into an extremely faint smile.
