Chapter 42: Yu Shi is the Prettiest, Most… part 1

Yu Shi stayed alone in the room for two days. Besides Zheng Xiao, who came to deliver meals on time, and a Beta who brought some tools, he hadn’t seen anyone else.

Fortunately, Qin Yin didn’t have a hobby of mistreating prisoners. He hadn’t stuffed Yu Shi into a capsule pod, nor had he forbidden him from repairing the robot dog.

9527 had lost its weapon functions but had recovered some basic performance.

Upon waking up, it was panicking, emitting a strange sound from the amplifier hanging on its leg: “Beautiful Omega! Heavens, I’m dreaming again, aren’t I? Why do I always have these strange dreams… Wait, it’s not a dream. Where are we now? Oh my god… this is actually the Aten 1 starship! The luxury warship carrying the most weapons and with the most advanced interior in this century! Waaa, I actually got to ride on such a big starship in my lifetime.”

It hopped about noisily. “This makes a machine so happy. Thank you, beautiful Omega. It was you who took me on a tour on a luxury starship. I feel heartfelt joy and gratitude.”

As it spoke, it lifted Yu Shi’s hand and kissed it on the amplifier.

Yu Shi: “…”

He was beginning to regret fixing it.

9527 looked around with its head swaying, sighing repeatedly: “This room is really pretty. It’s not a cramped, crowded capsule room; there’s a desk, a lamp, and even a private bathroom. I like it here! Ah—it’s dinner time. Beautiful Omega, what do you want to eat? I’ll go tell the kitchen to prepare it.”

It waited for a while. Seeing Yu Shi wasn’t paying it any attention, it scratched its wires and planned to go check the kitchen first.

It walked toward the door and pulled a few times, but it wouldn’t open.

It pulled a few more times.

The fierce voice of a bodyguard came from the door: “Stay put and don’t make any noise.”

9527 tucked its tail and walked away dejectedly. It looked up at Yu Shi, blinked its eyeballs, and asked, “Beautiful Omega, could it be that we’ve been… imprisoned?”

Yu Shi said coldly, “What else?”

9527 dazed for a while, its voice trembling. “My god… who would dare to do such an illegal, malicious, and wicked thing? A bad person kidnapped a national-level researcher! And a national first-class intelligent weapon! I think they want to die!!”

Yu Shi reminded it, “You don’t have a weapon system anymore. At most, you’re a talkative AI; you can’t be considered a first-class weapon anymore.”

9527 didn’t feel sad about this. Instead, it had a brainwave. “That’s right! I’m an all-powerful AI—this little problem won’t stump me! I’ll immediately help you formulate several plans to help you escape from here!”

Yu Shi let out a long sigh, utterly helpless.

9527 became excited: “Beautiful Omega, don’t lose heart! Don’t be discouraged! Leave it to me—we will definitely escape!”

“We’re on a starship. Where could we escape to?” Yu Shi looked at it as if looking at an idiot. “Drift into space and become a living fossil?”

Before 9527 could react, he grabbed it and carefully examined the messy wires.

In 9527’s display screen, that incredibly beautiful face suddenly magnified. The delicate skin could be seen clearly, and the eyes were jet-black while the lips were rosy—it was a sight to kill a machine.

It nearly crashed on the spot and said stutteringly, “What… what are you looking at… I just had a fight with someone, and there’s a lot of dust on my shell. My clothes are torn, and the wires are a bit scorched. Don’t… don’t dirty your hands.”

It suddenly remembered that the dress was stolen from Yu Zhizhi and shut its mouth guiltily.

“I’m trying to find a way to change your initial commands,” Yu Shi said, focused on his operations. “That title is too unpleasant; don’t call me that.”

9527 breathed slowly, a faint scent entering its olfactory system. It took a while to realize he didn’t like the name “Beautiful Omega.”

It said aggrievedly, “What do you want me to call you? Just say it directly and I can change it myself.”

Yu Shi paused. “Didn’t Xie Ren set operating permissions for you?”

“He did. You have the same highest authority as him.”

Yu Shi was silent for a moment, then stopped and looked at it.

9527 said cautiously, “As long as I come into contact with your pheromones, I can unlock it. I’m sorry—I just inhaled a tiny bit of pheromones without permission just now. The amount was very, very, very small. Don’t be angry; I won’t use it for any other purpose!”

“I know. You don’t have to explain so much,” Yu Shi said. “First, call me Teacher Yu. Second, talk less.”

9527 happily shut its mouth. “Teacher Yu!”

It wagged its non-existent tail as if it truly had become Yu Shi’s student.

the door was opened. The person who entered wasn’t Zheng Xiao, but a female Alpha.

The man and the machine looked up.

the Alpha was nearly 1.8 meters tall, only slightly shorter than Yu Shi. She had short, neat hair, deep and sharp facial features, and gloomy navy-blue eyes. She was wearing the same military uniform as Zheng Xiao.

She held a tray and said coldly, “Eat.”

Yu Shi sensed this was a high-level Alpha. He glanced at her but didn’t move.

the woman’s presence was pressing. “What are you looking at? Do you know me? Or do you want to get close to me to find a chance to escape?”

The last sentence carried heavy mockery, as if referring to the words he said on the roof that night.

Yu Shi knew there was no privacy in this room; everything he said and did was seen clearly on surveillance.

He didn’t become angry, but pointed to her collar. “I just wanted to remind you that a screw on your collar flower has fallen off.”

the woman was slightly surprised and looked down at her collar. The collar flower was indeed about to fall.

She took it off and held it in her hand, saying, “Is this how you get close to people? Hmph. Nothing special; I thought you’d have many high-level tricks.”

Yu Shi didn’t argue with her, and the woman rolled her eyes and left.

Today’s dinner was steak and fries. He picked up the ketchup and walked into the shower room—the only place without surveillance.

The shower room was very narrow, only allowing one person to stand. Yu Shi tore off a piece of toilet paper and smeared ketchup on it. Before long, a diagram began to take shape.

9527 poked its head in curiously and asked, “Teacher Yu, do you like painting with ketchup?”

Yu Shi didn’t speak. A few minutes later, a map gradually formed on the paper.

It was instantly stunned. Yu Shi mapped the map into its system and entered a command for it to complete the missing details.

9257 was shocked: “You… you haven’t even left this room. How can you outline the internal structure of the starship?”

Yu Shi said in a low voice, “Every warship is much the same.”

9527 was still curious, but afraid he would find it annoying, it didn’t dare ask more, and stretched its neck to look inside.

Yu Shi looked at it and explained, “Based on their meal delivery times, the temperature of the food, and the walking speed of the people, I can get the location of the kitchen after calculating the distance. Then based on that Beta’s speed, I inferred the location of the tool room, and then according to the traditional layout of warships, I inferred the distribution of the rooms next to it… Of course, this is just a small part, not a map of the entire starship.”

“Then what about the combat command center? How did you judge such an important location?”

“That woman just now was full of resentment when she entered; it was clear she had just finished a meeting,” Yu Shi said. “Her stride was wide, yet the collar flower didn’t fall off completely, which means the conference room isn’t far from us.”

If 9527 had eyes, they would surely be two hearts now. “Wow, Teacher Yu, you’re amazing! To be able to notice so many details—I don’t think we’re going to die!”

“It’s not hard. You just have to dismantle a few warship diagrams to know,” Yu Shi shook his head. “Your language system isn’t very civilized; have Xie Ren change it for you when we get back.”

9527 chugged as it drew the map. After a while, it said, “I’m just a robot. Do I still need to use civilized language?”

“Of course.”

“Teacher Yu,” it murmured, “I don’t know why, but I feel like you don’t treat me as a robot.”

“Mhm.” Yu Shi gave a non-committal hum. 9527 was quite shocked: “You really don’t treat me as a robot? Why? Everyone says I’m a machine.”

Yu Shi said, “You’ve already been iterated many times; you’ve long since ceased to be an ordinary robot. Just as you mentioned ‘feeling’ just now—do robots have their own ‘feelings’?”

9527 was completely dazed, looking at him in surprise.

After a long while, it asked in confusion, “But I’m not a person—then what am I?”

“Good question. I don’t know the answer either,” Yu Shi pondered. “Perhaps one day in the future, you will be able to answer that question yourself.”

9527 was delighted: “A question even you don’t know—I’ll actually know the answer?”
