Mr. Shen’s Sick Obsession Chapter 84

Chapter 84: The Terrifying Truth

Jiang Chuzhou was shocked. He stared with wide eyes at Qin Lou, who had calmly stated the truth. He stuttered, “Your… your brother was also kidnapped by this fat pig?!”

Qin Lou ignored him, his eyes fixed on the man in front of him. Beneath his calm exterior, his resentment was already surging like an ocean tide.

Being reminded of it, the Hei Bao coach suddenly remembered the events from fourteen years ago. His entire body gave a violent jolt.

That incident had been too terrifying. He didn’t even dare to recall it; it made his skin crawl with fear.

Qin Lou saw his sudden, evasive gaze and instantly knew the man must know the details from back then.

“Answer me.”

He spoke coldly, his tone carrying a heavy murderous intent.

The Hei Bao coach swallowed hard. He muttered to himself that if Qin Lou was questioning him like this, the man likely didn’t know the specifics, so there was no need for him to be afraid!

With that thought, he straightened his back and snapped back:

“W-what fourteen years ago? How should I know who your brother is?! I forgot about those races long ago! Stop trying to pin everything on me! Are you so desperate for a reason to sentence me to death that you’re digging up things from that long ago? You must be crazy!”

The old chief had lost his patience with this kind of uncooperative criminal: “Xiao Qin, don’t waste your time on him. Since we have him now, we have enough information to investigate.”

Qin Lou shook his head.

He wanted to keep asking.

He couldn’t wait any longer.

Fourteen years.

The truth was right in front of him.

He didn’t have any more time to wait for an investigation to clear things up.

Whether his brother was dead or alive, or where his remains were—he only wanted justice and didn’t want to live with regret anymore.

Jiang Chuzhou understood the grudge between Qin Lou and the Hei Bao coach now. He picked his ear provocatively. “Why not use torture? I don’t believe his mouth is that hard to open!”

The Hei Bao coach gave a shudder.

But it didn’t change his stubbornness: “Wh-what kind of police are you! You want to force a confession without evidence! I’ll sue you in court!”

Jiang Chuzhou gave a disdainful snort. “Hah, if we go to court, let’s see whose lawyer is more powerful—yours, or the one from my old man’s house!”

Sure enough, the coach fell silent.

Even if he couldn’t beat the wealthy and powerful Jiang family, as long as he kept his mouth shut, no one could do anything to him! Right! He couldn’t say a word!

Qin Lou didn’t lose his temper at the denial. Instead, he reached into his pocket, pulled out a photo, and placed it on the desk before pushing it over.

“This person. You should be very familiar with her.”

The Hei Bao coach gave an arrogant snort.

He wanted to see exactly what evidence the other party could produce!

His eyes glanced disdainfully at the photo on the desk.

When he saw the person in the photo, his pupils shrank. That arrogant air suddenly began to crumble.

The old chief saw that Qin Lou was calm and composed, making him feel that this time, the man had come fully prepared.

It looked like there would be no need to spend time on an investigation.

Jiang Chuzhou was quite curious about the photo and wanted to reach out for it, but he was wary of the coach’s half-dead appearance.

After all, he had nearly lost his life in that garage.

“Wh-what did you do to her?!”

The Hei Bao coach panicked, trying to grab the photo, but he couldn’t even lift his hands due to the cuffs.

“I’m warning you! If you dare do anything to her! I’ll kill you! Even as a ghost, I won’t let you go!”

He roared, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at the three people in front of him, all of his previous bravado gone.

The chief glanced curiously at the photo.

It was a woman lying in a hospital bed.

Her face was pale; she appeared to be very ill.

Qin Lou placed his interlaced fingers on the desk, his gaze sharp: “If you don’t want her to know that her husband, of whom she has always been proud, is a scheming murderer, then you had better tell me everything from back then.”

“N-no! Don’t you dare threaten me!”

The Hei Bao coach was still putting up a final struggle.

But he was clearly lacking his earlier confidence.

His wife was his weakness.

These people were truly wicked!

“Fine, then I’ll just have to tell her.”

Qin Lou stood up and prepared to leave.

Jiang Chuzhou was baffled.

What game was Qin Lou playing?

Seeing that he was truly leaving, the hesitant coach panicked:

“Wait! You can’t tell her! She’s still undergoing chemotherapy. If… if she finds out what I’ve done, she won’t be able to take it! Do you want her to die?!”

“The one who wants her to die is you!”

Qin Lou turned back, his tone suddenly growing heavy. His calmness was swept away, replaced entirely by rage.

Jiang Chuzhou was also startled by this sudden change in attitude.

He sat there, looking up at the man whose aura was now chilling.

So the man did have emotions…

He had never seen Qin Lou like this!

Stripped of his usual coldness and distance, a Qin Lou covered in hatred actually looked a bit like a normal person.

The Hei Bao coach finally gave up, letting out a self-mocking laugh. “I’ve lost… completely and utterly…”

“Speak. I have no more patience.”

Qin Lou sat back in the chair with a cold face.

“It’s true… your brother, I was the one who abducted him back then.”

The coach looked at him and stopped pretending.

“You beast…”

Jiang Chuzhou spat out each word.

“I truly admire how someone so young could see through my cheating. It really wasn’t simple.”

The Hei Bao coach didn’t feel any shame; his eyes even held a few hints of admiration for the young Qin Wen.

But the next second, his face changed completely as he roared:

“He caused me to lose that race! He cost me all the prize money I almost had! I could have gone abroad for further training, but I lost everything and my dreams because of him! Of course I wouldn’t let him go!”

“You piece of trash, you cheated and now you’re throwing a tantrum?”

Jiang Chuzhou rolled his eyes in disbelief.

Qin Lou’s face darkened even further.

His interlaced fingers were pressed together so hard that his palms were bruised.

He forced himself to stay calm.

The truth that had haunted him for over a decade was finally being revealed.

The coach took a deep breath and continued:

“So, I kidnapped him and took him to a basement in the suburbs. I locked him in there with a starving dog.”

At those words, Qin Lou’s eyes turned blood-red. He looked as if he were about to collapse. He wanted to tear the man in front of him to shreds, but he forced himself to remain steady, asking with a trembling voice:

“Did the dog… bite him to death?”

“No! Well, just a little…”

The coach changed his tune guiltily.

He seemed to remember a terrifying scene; he swallowed nervously and his face turned pale:

“The dog had just been bitten by something infected. Because of that, your brother… caught rabies…”

The Hei Bao coach didn’t dare look into Qin Lou’s terrifying eyes. He hung his head, his teeth chattering:

“I watched him… turn into something neither human nor dog overnight. He even turned around and ate the dog…”

That image remained vivid in his memory even today.

In the dim basement, a child with a hunched back and hollow eyes, his mouth full of black blood. At the child’s feet lay a massive dog, gasping its last breath.

Ugh… I’m going to puke…”

Jiang Chuzhou covered his mouth and gagged twice.

“And then?”

Qin Lou bit out every word, his gaze both vacant and pained.

He didn’t dare think—he couldn’t even bring himself to imagine—that the brother he had so carefully protected and loved had been treated so cruelly by others…

The coach shivered. “I was scared then. I wanted to have someone kill him, but it was too late. Before I could get to the basement, the police had already caught up to me. I had no choice but to flee.”

Hearing of such cruel torture, the chief shook his head in pity and added:

“The police did find a large amount of blood and the dog’s carcass in that suburban basement later, but they couldn’t find any trace of Qin Wen. Technology was limited back then, so they couldn’t track the culprit.”

“Where exactly did you take him?!”

Qin Lou finally erupted.

He slammed his hands onto the desk and stood up, his body radiating a thick, violent aura.

“If you don’t speak, your wife can forget about living!”

The coach also panicked, struggling and trying his best to explain:

“I didn’t take him away! I was too busy running for my own life! I really don’t know where he went! And I don’t know if he’s dead or alive! He was alive when I left! I didn’t kill him!”

“Calm down, Qin Lou!”

Jiang Chuzhou hurriedly stood up to pat Qin Lou’s back. Then he turned to glare at the coach, threatening:

“If you dare tell one more lie, don’t dream of your wife having a good time!”

“I’m not lying! If I’m lying, I’ll drop dead!”

The coach gnashed his teeth and let out a self-mocking laugh. He leaned back in the chair, his rage spent:

“I’ve told you everything I can. Sentence me however you want. You win… using the person I love most to threaten me…”

“Does someone like you deserve to speak of love…”

Qin Lou’s voice was hoarse.

His eyes filled with tears.

“My brother… he was only eight years old. You kidnapped him and locked him with a starving dog… he was so small… how could he possibly take that…”

He clutched his chest in agony as tears fell. His heart ached so much he could barely speak.

He hated this unjust world, he hated that the wicked went unpunished, but most of all, he hated his own uselessness…

Jiang Chuzhou looked at him with sympathy, not knowing how to comfort him. In that moment, he felt that this cold and arrogant man was actually very piteous as he wept.

“Alright, Xiao Qin, don’t be too sad.”

The old chief stepped forward and patted his shoulder.

Qin Lou shook his head through his tears; he couldn’t accept it.

Realizing the situation was turning against him, the coach was terrified that his wife would be affected. He began to cry and beg:

“Every single mistake was mine! I’m begging you, please don’t tell my wife. Don’t tell her about the ugly things I’ve done. I’ll take responsibility for my actions alone. She knows nothing; she’s innocent! And she’s sick; she shouldn’t be dragged into this!”

Qin Lou let out a difficult breath.

He wiped away his tears forcefully, staring resentfully at the now humble man. “I won’t grant your wish.”

With that, he turned and left.

Jiang Chuzhou didn’t forget to spit at the air to humiliate the coach before quickly running after Qin Lou.
