Part 3
Before he could finish, Luo Siqi received a sharp smack to the head. His Qin-ge spoke with cold ruthlessness. “Don’t even think about it.”
Then, Luo Siqi watched as his Qin-ge stepped out with his long legs and walked toward the newly arrived Omega.
Luo Siqi curled his lip. “Whatever. You just want to hook up with him yourself… wait… hold on…”
Qin Yizheng had just said he was specifically waiting for Tulip, and he walked over the moment this little hottie arrived. Did that mean this little hottie was Tulip?
Thinking of this, he quickly looked over. Sure enough, the two of them began chatting with the familiarity of old friends. They seemed to be talking about something, as the “Tulip” curved his eyes in a smile. With that smile on such a handsome face, even Luo Siqi felt his face heat up.
However, it seemed he had missed more of the plot. The progress bar had seemingly jumped straight into the next season.
When exactly had these two revealed their identities to each other and recognized one another in person?
In truth, Yu Xia had never actually seen Qin Yizheng before this. Even Qin Yizheng had only seen a view of Yu Xia’s back in a video from Ning Qing. Yet, the moment they met in person, they recognized each other almost instantly.
When Qin Yizheng stood before him, Yu Xia simply blinked and said with near certainty, “Qing Zheng?”
Qin Yizheng nodded with a smile. “Mm. Qing Zheng. My real name is Qin Yizheng. Yi as in easy, Zheng as in lofty.”
Yu Xia’s eyes crinkled. “That’s a great name. I’m Yu Xia. Yu as in tulip, Xia as in a flaw in white jade.”
Perhaps because Yu Xia’s smile was a bit too beautiful, Qin Yizheng suddenly felt an itch in his palms—the kind of itch that made him want to reach out and rub the boy’s head. But logic told him that would be too abrupt and inappropriate. He could only cough lightly, leading him toward Luo Siqi while bringing up another topic. “About what you mentioned before—that person at the hospital who was asking about your mental power—how is the situation now? It’s been so many days; there should be a result, right?”
At the mention of this, Yu Xia became unhappy and pouted. “That? They only caught the nurse. The doctor who had infiltrated the hospital fled after getting the news early. Supposedly, they wanted to lure the snake out of its hole and catch them all in one go, but a gap was left, and he escaped. Professor Wen threw a massive tantrum when he found out. But honestly, it’s not a huge deal. The hospital used it as an excuse to conduct a purge. There are definitely no more plants left for now. Who knows if there will be more in the future, though.”
Qin Yizheng quickly caught a name in Yu Xia’s words. “Professor Wen? Is it Wen Lun? Is your attending physician on Capital Star now Professor Wen?”
Yu Xia gave an “mhm.” “Yes. Professor Wen is in charge of my case now. I heard he has reagents that can alleviate the pressure of my mental power. He said that if things get desperate, I can get them from him, but it’s best not to use them. If I develop drug resistance and something really goes wrong, it will be very hard to handle.”
The two talked as they walked, arriving before Luo Siqi. Qin Yizheng introduced him first. “His real name is Luo Siqi. He’s Luo Dian from the virtual net.”
Yu Xia sized Luo Siqi up with curiosity and extended his hand. “Hello. I’m Yu Xia. I’m Tulip on the virtual net.”
Luo Siqi finally snapped out of it and grasped the hand offered to him. “Hello, hello! I’m Luo Siqi. Long time no see, Tulip… wait, what was the real name? Yu Xia, right? By the way, you really haven’t been on the virtual community for a long time. Did something happen? I was telling Qin-ge yesterday that maybe your exam results were bad and you weren’t in the mood to log on.”
Yu Xia shook his head. “No, no. I just arrived on Capital Star recently and wasn’t very familiar with the place. I didn’t dare wear a holographic helmet alone in a hospital ward, so I just haven’t been online.”
To be honest, after several days offline, his brain felt heavy, as if the mental power inside was about to overflow. Once he settled in, he would have to burn off some of that energy.
Luo Siqi was a bit confused. “You use a holographic helmet? Most people use holographic cabins nowadays. The technology is more stable, and lying down is more comfortable.”
Yu Xia explained, “Current holographic helmet technology is very reliable too. I specifically picked a high-quality one. Besides, a helmet consumes more mental power than a cabin. My biggest problem back then was not knowing how to use up my mental energy every day. I couldn’t even sleep well. One night, my mental power even manifested. That’s why my doctor came up with this method.”
Hearing the term “mental power manifestation,” Luo Siqi let out a “Whoa!” even Qin Yizheng looked at Yu Xia with intense nerves. “Is everything okay now?”
Yu Xia waved his hand. “It’s fine now. After using the helmet, the pressure isn’t as intense. Though it still hurts, it’s not a big problem. It’s manageable.”
Qin Yizheng didn’t find Yu Xia’s words comforting at all. He only felt that Yu Xia’s Mental Power Disorder was indeed severe. And the more serious Yu Xia’s condition, the more hostility he felt toward the person who had recklessly spoken nonsense to Yu Xia back then. He narrowed his eyes. “That person back then… who exactly was it?”
Yu Xia didn’t react immediately. “Which person?”
Luo Siqi, however, understood. “He must mean the person who caused your mental power shock. Eh? Could that person be from our school? That would be far too uncalled for. If they got into Imperial Star Academy, shouldn’t they know that Mental Power Disorder patients can’t handle provocation? Our school recruits several MPD patients every year. The famous Dr. Lu Yao graduated from our academy. If they claim not to know, who are they kidding?”
Yu Xia gave Qin Yizheng a tug. “Forget it, forget it. The matter is over. As long as they don’t come back to say anything, that’s enough. There’s no need to waste more energy on those people. By the way, I’m here to register. Where is the registration desk for the Mechanical Department?”
Luo Siqi was the first to raise his hand. “I know that! Every year at the start of the new term, I go check out the Mechanical Department registration. Who knows, I might hook a talented and skilled little cutie to be my exclusive mechanic! If us Mecha Department students can have an exclusive mechanic, we walk with our heads held high. But you really got into the Mechanical Department? That’s not easy! Why don’t you be my exclusive mechanic in the future, Yu Xia? I promise excellent benefits!”
Qin Yizheng unhurriedly moved to stand between Luo Siqi and Yu Xia. He raised an eyebrow at Luo Siqi. “In your dreams.”
Then he pulled Yu Xia along. “Let’s go. I’ll take you to the Mechanical Department registration. After that, I’ll take you around the campus. Or… do you remember what I told you before?”
Yu Xia certainly remembered; he had been thinking about it for days. “I remember. You said you prepared a gift for me, but no matter how much I asked, you wouldn’t tell me what it was.”
Qin Yizheng smiled slightly. “It should be quite useful for you. It’s something that’s quite difficult to apply for at Imperial Star Academy—a single dormitory.”
Luo Siqi, following behind them, let out a “Holy crap!” at the words. “A single dorm!”
Yu Xia looked up at Qin Yizheng. He hadn’t noticed before, but now that they were walking close together, he realized this man was truly tall. Yu Xia felt he wasn’t short himself, and his checkup results were decent, but he still had to tilt his head slightly to see Qin Yizheng’s face.
At this moment, Yu Xia was still a bit puzzled. “Are single dorms that hard to get?”
