Part 2
Ni Xia was an intern who had just joined the real estate firm and had zero authority.
She was usually assigned the clients who were both picky and broke.
For example, that Zhu Liang who had come in last week—he radiated “new money” vibes and had a laundry list of demands, but when asked, he only had seven million Star Coins to his name.
Wanting a 150-square-meter home in a high-end community in the center of Jialan Star for only seven million was a pipe dream.
Because of this, Ni Xia had been an intern for five months without closing a single deal.
Nevertheless, she remained diligent with every client, viewing each interaction as a chance to gain experience.
Dressed in her professional suit and wearing a polite smile, Ni Xia arrived at the rendezvous point in the virtual world.
When she arrived, someone dressed in a light-colored knit sweater was already standing there.
He stood tall and straight, clearly well-bred.
Seeing Ni Xia arrive, Zhu Ran turned to face her, nodding with a soft smile. “Hello. I’m Zhu. We had an appointment to see houses this afternoon.”
The moment he turned around, Ni Xia was momentarily dazed.
His features were exquisite—more refined than many of the top celebrities—yet his aura was gentle and non-aggressive. His green eyes were filled with life.
A single glance brought to mind the warmth of spring.
What a unique aura.
Ni Xia pulled herself together.
In the virtual world, appearances could be altered, but aura could not.
This client was likely different from the picky ones she’d dealt with before.
With that thought, Ni Xia became even more focused.
“I am sales representative Ni Xia, ID 9891.”
“I have a general understanding of your needs. You’re interested in the detached villas in the Greenwater White Crane Community, the Golden Moon Community…”
“Yes. I want a villa with a large garden in a quiet environment.”
“Understood. The properties you’ve selected have the largest gardens of all our current listings. Let’s start with the one in Greenwater White Crane!”
Under Ni Xia’s guidance, Zhu Ran quickly toured the four properties he liked.
All four were in high-end communities, and the environments were fairly similar. However, two of the houses were decorated in the “vibrant neon” style popular with young people. Zhu Ran couldn’t stand the look and didn’t want to go through the trouble of a major renovation, so he ruled them out immediately.
Of the remaining two, one was located next to a business district where many high-earning professionals lived.
Zhu Ran figured business people would often have social engagements, likely returning home late or hosting weekend parties. After some thought, he ruled that one out too.
That left the house in the Greenwater White Crane Community.
The house was a three-story design with four bedrooms, two living areas, and three bathrooms. The floor area was 290 square meters, with a 60-square-meter balcony on the second floor. It also came with a basement, a garage, and a garden. The price was 31.5 million Star Coins.
The residents of the community were mostly researchers and university professors with regular working hours.
Zhu Ran was satisfied with the layout, price, and surrounding amenities.
“If I buy this, how soon can I move in?”
“You can move in as soon as the transaction is complete. The current owner bought it as an investment but needs to liquidate some assets due to a cash flow issue, so they’ve dropped the price by 2 million to sell quickly. The interior finishes are complete; they never lived in it, so it’s essentially brand-new.”
Zhu Ran didn’t hesitate. “Alright. I’ll take this one. Can we handle the paperwork today?”
Ni Xia didn’t process what he’d said at first.
This client was buying the house right here on the spot? Just like that?
After a stunned moment, she stammered, “You want it today? I’ll contact the seller immediately. Will you be taking out a loan or paying in full?”
“Full payment.”
!
Paying in full!
Where did this wealthy person come from?
Burying her shock, Ni Xia immediately set to work. “Of course, of course! There’s an additional discount for full payment.”
The rest of the process went smoothly. Zhu Ran and the seller signed the contract over the Star Network and registered it at the real estate center. The transfer was complete in just an hour.
Because Zhu Ran had paid in full, the seller knocked another 500,000 off the price.
Ni Xia earned a 2% commission—a single-day income of 620,000. Oh god! Her intern salary was only 2,500 Star Coins. To suddenly get enough money for a down payment on a small apartment was like a gift from heaven.
When Director Fang Lan learned Ni Xia had closed a deal worth over thirty million, her face went green.
Who would have thought a “broke person” from a D-grade planet actually had that much money?
Director Fang Lan looked at Zhu Ran.
Though appearances could be changed in the virtual world, Zhu Ran’s aura was too good; Fang Lan was certain his real appearance wasn’t bad either.
She noticed Zhu Ran’s virtual avatar had bare hands—no wedding ring—and he’d used his own card, not someone else’s, to pay.
So… was this a low-profile second-generation heir?
And he appeared to be single?
Fang Lan immediately had other ideas.
She stepped forward, tossing her hair and flashing her most “charming” smile.
“Hello. I’m Sales Director Fang Lan. I apologize for the intrusion, but are you interested in men or women? If you like women, what do you think of me?”
Zhu Ran was stunned for a second before he gave a blunt refusal. “I’m sorry, I’m interested in men. And…”
In an instant… Z’s face came to mind. His gaze turned exceptionally soft. “I already have someone I care about.”
Even after being rejected, Director Fang Lan wouldn’t let it go. “Since it’s just someone you ‘care about,’ that means you’re far from being together. You don’t have to be so rigid about your orientation. Are you sure you won’t reconsider? My… skills are quite good.”
Zhu Ran’s expression went cold. “I have zero interest in you.”
“You might not now, but interest can be cultivated. You’ll be addicted after one try.”
As she spoke, Fang Lan reached out to touch Zhu Ran’s chest.
Zhu Ran’s expression hardened. The “warm spring breeze” of his aura turned into a razor-sharp blade. A pressure so intense it was nearly physical pinned Fang Lan in place.
His gaze was frigid, as if he were looking at a corpse.
“Get lost.”
Zhu Ran didn’t give her another look before turning to leave.
Simultaneously, the system detected Zhu Ran’s spike in spiritual energy and asked what had happened.
Zhu Ran gave a brief summary of the incident, and the system indicated that Fang Lan would receive her due punishment.
Ni Xia apologized repeatedly, but Zhu Ran said he didn’t mind.
Seeing that he truly wasn’t upset, Ni Xia offered her well-wishes: “Then I hope you and the person you care about are together soon.”
Zhu Ran smiled, his features softening. “Thank you.”
Because Zhu Ran had closed a thirty-million-plus deal, he was given a grand send-off. A row of staff stood at the door to wave goodbye, and they even gave him some products he could use in the virtual world.
Zhu Ran accepted the kindness.
Meanwhile, in the transaction room, ‘Zhu Ran’s’ relative Zhu Liang was arguing with a salesman to try and get a 100,000 Star Coin discount.
Zhu Liang had intended to transfer all of ‘Zhu Ran’s’ inheritance into his own name, but when he went to sell the property, he was told he had no inheritance rights and needed ‘Zhu Ran’s’ personal consent.
Zhu Liang was baffled. Hadn’t they agreed that once they drove Zhu Ran away, they could use a series of illegal operations to get the assets without his signature? Why did they need him now?
But the lawyer said ‘no’ meant ‘no,’ effectively shattering Zhu Liang’s dream of joining high society.
However, he had already bragged about his wealth, so he had no choice but to scrounge together enough money to move into a slightly better community.
“Zhu Xiao, go to Planet Aispu. Get Zhu Ran to sign the asset transfer agreement.”
Zhu Liang’s son, Zhu Xiao, pouted in annoyance but agreed. “Fine. Ugh, I have to go to that middle-of-nowhere D-grade planet. What a pain.”
“Once he signs, our whole family will be set. Weren’t you wanting to study art? I’ve contacted one of Yan You’s classmates to teach you, alright?”
“Once we’re rich, we’ll even be able to hire Yan You himself.”
Zhu Xiao looked impatient. “I know, I know. I’ll go buy the shuttle ticket now.”
Despite the small incident during the house hunt, Zhu Ran was in an excellent mood now that he had a place of his own—a place to truly call home.
He went online and bought a large amount of daily necessities and furniture, storing them in his personal locker on Xinggou. Once he arrived on Jialan Star, he could immediately begin decorating.
“I’ll need two cleaning robots, one kitchen assistant… there are four rooms, so one of the smaller ones can be a walk-in closet and storage. That means I’ll need to buy more wardrobes…”
By the time he’d bought all the essentials, Zhu Ran had spent another 1.5 million Star Coins. His savings were shrinking rapidly.
He sighed at how fast money disappeared, though the act of shopping had been genuinely enjoyable.
Logging out of the Xinggou virtual world, Zhu Ran shared the day’s events with Z: [I bought the house in Greenwater White Crane. I’ve even picked out the furniture; I’m just waiting for it to arrive so I can move in.
By the way, while I was buying the house, someone asked about my orientation and if I’d consider her.
Can you guess what I said?]
