Chapter 10: Refusal
“Yes, Lord. Tomorrow I will lead a squad to inspect Planet 1347.”
Saiensi managed to answer Yan Mo’s question even while busy eating.
“Is Major General Lan Ze not going?” Yan Mo looked at Lan Ze.
“The difficulty of this mission isn’t high; it’s just another routine check. It’s enough for Saiensi to lead the team.”
Lan Ze recalled that Yan Mo was discovered on Planet 1347. The resources there were exhausted, and the population was small—mostly exiled low-level Females. As an undifferentiated Male, it was hard to imagine how Yan Mo had survived there before being found.
Yan Mo paused, then touched his forehead as if troubled. “I don’t remember what happened before, but I heard I was brought back from Planet 1347 by you.”
Remembering Yan Mo’s dying state when he found him, Lan Ze’s chest tightened.
“Lord, if you can’t remember, then don’t think about it. I promise that such a thing will never happen to you again.”
Lan Ze spoke seriously. Since he had accepted the Male’s guardianship, he would do his utmost to protect him. This was his responsibility.
Yan Mo felt a warmth in his heart, then pleaded, “Can I go to Planet 1347 to take a look?”
“No!”
Lan Ze rejected the Male’s request without a second thought.
Planet 1347 was no tourist planet; it was an abandoned garbage planet. Although Lan Ze had thoroughly inspected it last time, the population there was complex and conditions were harsh. How could Lord Yan Mo go to such a place?
Yan Mo hadn’t expected Lan Ze to object so quickly.
“Why? I want to go there to see if I can remember anything.”
Yan Mo couldn’t reveal his transmigration, so he could only use memory as an excuse. He wanted to go to Planet 1347 to find a way back to Earth.
That “Interstellar Rift”—perhaps he had transmigrated through it, and maybe he could go back the same way.
“Lord, Planet 1347 is dangerous. It is a garbage planet and is not suitable for a noble Lord like yourself.”
“I can go with Major General Saiensi. With the Fourth Army soldiers there, there shouldn’t be any problems.”
“No, Lord. For your safety, I still do not suggest you go to Planet 1347.”
Yan Mo fell silent.
He saw that Lan Ze’s attitude toward him going to Planet 1347 was very firm.
If Lan Ze objected, it was unlikely he could use the inspection squad’s power to take him there for now.
Seeing the Male lower his eyes and that warm smile vanish, looking very dejected, Lan Ze couldn’t help but look back at his tone—it seemed he had been too blunt.
Seeing the atmosphere turn sour, Saiensi gave Lan Ze a look.
Lan Ze looked at the silent Yan Mo. He wanted to apologize but hesitated.
In his view, Yan Mo’s past on Planet 1347 must not have held any pleasant memories, so why bother trying to remember?
A warm and beautiful Male like Lord Yan Mo should live on the habitable Capital Star. Even Efa Star was a bit too much of a compromise for him. Why should he return to a garbage planet, which was dangerous for a Male, for the sake of unpleasant memories?
“This is Lord Yan Mo’s first time at the military base, right? Why don’t you take a tour around the base?” Saiensi suggested with a smile.
Yan Mo nodded, rose, and left.
Seeing the Male Lord’s retreating back, Lan Ze wanted to follow, but Saiensi grabbed him.
“The base is safe. You don’t need to protect him so closely.”
Saiensi said helplessly, “Lan Ze, you can’t treat Lord Yan Mo the same way you treat your subordinates.”
Lan Ze froze. He wanted to say he wasn’t, that he was simply analyzing the pros and cons rationally and felt the Male didn’t need to take extra risks.
“This isn’t one of your Females going on a mission; you don’t need to calculate gains and losses. Moreover, you personally inspected Planet 1347. Do you not trust your own judgment? Or is it that Lord Yan Mo has affected your judgment?”
Lan Ze was naturally confident in his judgment. That was why he hadn’t objected to Saiensi leading the inspection despite his unstable mental power—because he knew there was no danger there, and even with unstable mental power, Saiensi was more than capable of completing the mission.
“Lord Yan Mo is very good. I thought… no Male in the Zerg race would be like him.”
That was why he cared so much about his safety and didn’t want him to bear even the slightest risk.
Lan Ze gave a self-deprecating smile. Even though he hated Males to the bone, he couldn’t help but want to hold onto even a tiny bit of warmth when he encountered it. The Female’s longing for a Male was perhaps their destiny.
Saiensi patted Lan Ze’s shoulder. “Lan Ze, you are already luckier than many Females. Don’t let your luck slip away.”
Lan Ze rose and brushed off Saiensi’s hand.
“I’ll go in your place for tomorrow’s mission. You stay at the base and stabilize your mental power.”
Saiensi raised an eyebrow and teased intentionally, “That won’t do. I’m a lonely Female; I need to do more missions to earn contribution points for dates with Male Lords. I just happened to find a good mission that doesn’t require mental power—how can I let you have it?”
Lan Ze ignored Saiensi’s teasing and strode toward the direction Yan Mo had left.
“I’ll do the mission. The contribution points are yours.”
Yan Mo walked aimlessly, thinking of how to convince Lan Ze to let him go to Planet 1347.
He was unfamiliar with the place and didn’t know much about the Zerg situation. If he didn’t go through Lan Ze, he couldn’t think of any other way to get to Garbage Planet 1347 for the time being.
Unknowingly, he walked to the training grounds.
There were many Females training there.
Seeing a Male Lord appear at the military base, the Females couldn’t help but stare curiously.
[Heavens, look! Am I seeing things? I actually see a Male! I haven’t seen a Male since I started my service on Efa Star!]
[Which Male Lord is this? Why is he at the base?]
[He seems to be Major General Lan Ze’s future Male Master. Didn’t the Major General rescue a Male Lord a while ago? Black hair and eyes, incredibly handsome—that’s him.]
[Ah! The Lord looked at me! Quick, check if I look dashing today!]
[Are you crazy?! That’s the Major General’s future Male Master!]
[Such a handsome Lord—even if I had to be stared down by the Major General every day, I’d be willing to be his Female Attendant!]

The Females turned their gazes toward Yan Mo one after another, whispering with their comrades.
Efa Star was the garrison planet for the Fourth Army. Compared to the Capital Star and other habitable planets, it wasn’t suitable for Males. The number of Males on the entire planet was scarce, and it was rare to see one on the streets, let alone at the military base.
Yan Mo’s features were exquisite, his figure tall and slender, and he naturally carried a gentle temperament. He was very different from the Males in these soldiers’ impressions, who were always surrounded by a violent aura. He drew the eyes of a crowd of Military Females.
Yan Mo snapped out of it, realizing he had somehow walked into the area where the Females were training.
The surrounding Females were all looking at him.
Yan Mo thought he had accidentally entered a restricted area and prepared to leave the way he came.
Suddenly, he felt a surge of chaotic energy. His heart skipped a beat for no reason, and he looked toward a cluster of Females.
