Chapter 36: Identity Reveal 3
The private room had a full-length window, providing a clear view of the street behind them.
It was morning, and the light was excellent.
The Alpha took the sunglasses that had been covering half of Ruan Zhimian’s face and tossed them onto the table. He then leaned forward, his shoulders dipping as he completely enveloped the small space.
His cold, dark eyes reflected Ruan Zhimian, who had closed his eyes due to the change in light.
“Baby, answer me.”
When he opened his eyes again, those beautiful, pure eyes were covered in a thin layer of tears.
Beneath his soft, black hair, his ears were completely red. With a distance of only twenty centimeters, he could only lean back. But behind him was the wall and the window; there was nowhere left to hide.
Shi He was too close.
The little kitten’s fingers subconsciously gripped the hem of his shirt. After a brief mental lapse, he remembered his persona. He plucked up his courage and snapped back fiercely, “Why should I tell you?”
He blinked his uncomfortable eyes and reached out to take back his sunglasses.
Ruan Zhimian had dressed carefully today. The loose, black, fine-fishnet top hung off him, making his skin look even whiter. Black eyeliner traced an upward curve, accented with silver-blue glitter, making him look particularly beautiful.
What kind of style was this supposed to be? A “darkened” kitten?
Before his soft, white fingertips could grab the sunglasses, a much larger hand reached out unhurriedly and covered the back of his hand.
Ruan Zhimian’s body shuddered. He bit his lip and raised his voice slightly. “Shi He, you… stay away from me.”
On the outside, he was “darkened,” but on the inside, he was still a soft nuomici. Without the sunglasses to hide behind, his voice shook as he spoke, and his eyes darted around, completely unable to meet Shi He’s gaze.
“Am I that scary?”
“Baby.”
Instead of pulling away, Shi He moved closer. His cold finger pressed against Ruan Zhimian’s lips, smudging the cool, purple-toned lip glaze to reveal cherry-colored lips. He slowly met those watery, obedient eyes.
“I’m not afraid of you.”
Ruan Zhimian wrinkled his nose and put on a very tough expression.
The next moment, the Alpha suddenly seemed to change. He exerted pressure with his fingers, gripping Ruan Zhimian’s chin, and without any warning, leaned in for a kiss.
Ruan Zhimian’s head was tilted back. He had always been a bit slow, but now he was even more dazed. His eyelashes grew wet, and his left hand beat against Shi He’s shoulder. “Let… go… of me.”
He sounded even more pitiable.
Shi He liked him when he was lying, liked him when he was fierce, liked him when he was crying, and liked him when he smiled.
He even liked him when he didn’t like him back.
Shi He didn’t let go until Ruan Zhimian stopped struggling.
His beautiful eyes were full of tears, which slowly slid down from the corners of his eyes. He looked particularly aggrieved, a look that only made one want to kiss him more.
Ruan Zhimian lowered his head and used his fingers to wipe his tears. His eye makeup had smudged. His voice grew smaller and even more aggrieved. “I hate you.”
“I told you to let go, and you didn’t listen.”
Shi He pulled out a soft handkerchief and began to wipe away the tears, then the smudged eyeliner. “Baby, did you forget what you promised me?”
“You said that when we met, I could kiss you.”
“I never said that.”
Shi He pulled out his phone and clicked on a recording titled “Kiss.” Ruan Zhimian’s soft voice rang out clearly in the private room.
“I promise you… you can kiss me…”
That was right—it was his voice.
Ruan Zhimian even saw a long list of titled recordings, nearly all of them related to him.
Those words were all things Ruan Zhimian had promised just to get Shi He to date him. Thinking they would never meet, he had made all sorts of promises, each more outrageous than the last. He never expected Shi He would take them all seriously, much less that he would… actually fulfill them.
“You promised me… ten minutes.”
“And…”
Ruan Zhimian quickly reached out and covered Shi He’s mouth. “It’s not supposed to be like this. In the dramas, they just do it lightly.”
“I’m ignoring you.”
Ruan Zhimian bit his lip, sulking on his own.
Regardless, he wouldn’t look at him or listen to him. He simply couldn’t win the argument.
Shi He decided to quit while he was ahead. “Mianmian, I’m sorry.”
Ruan Zhimian pressed his forehead against the wall, his small face turned away. His beautiful, red eyes were full of grievance. He had nearly run out of breath just now; it was… simply too much. “I don’t forgive you.”
Unexpectedly, the Alpha took his hand and kissed his snow-white fingertips.
“I’m sorry, Baby.”
Ruan Zhimian pulled his hand back and sat up abruptly. “You… how could you…”
This was an incredibly obedient kid who hadn’t even had a childhood crush, much less a real relationship.
His first lie was scamming someone into a relationship. He hadn’t expected so much “contact” to occur. His brain was nearly unable to function normally, and he found himself following Shi He’s lead.
He murmured again, trying to end this. “I’ve already met you. Now that we’ve met and you’ve… kissed me… you should leave quickly.”
The black-haired, black-eyed Alpha’s gaze dropped. He took an extremely humble stance, his handsome and elegant features being put to their best use.
“No. I want to be with you.”
Ruan Zhimian brought out his ultimate excuse, Han He’an, in an attempt to block Shi He. He even took the initiative to look up and meet Shi He’s eyes. “I’m engaged to Han He’an. I won’t be with you.”
Quick, tell me you give up.
The next second, he heard something unexpected—words that nearly made Ruan Zhimian faint.
How could someone like Shi He…
Why would he say something like that?
“Ruan Zhimian, I don’t mind being your secret lover.”
“Stay engaged to him, and date me. How about that?”
