I Heard I’m the Only Healing Cub in the Interstellar Chapter 57

Chapter 57: The Cub Works Miracles… (First Update)

Time dialed back to half an hour ago.

Tali’yao, wearing a warm smile and holding a bouquet of fresh flowers, walked into the Alpha Medical Center.

The receptionist stepped forward with a smile, extending a hand to stop him.

“Sir, I’m very sorry, but you cannot enter.”

“I am here to see my wife, her name is Hela.”

“Mr. Tali’yao, I apologize, but you cannot enter. This is Mr. Heli’s request, and I must act according to our VIP client’s instructions.”

“But I am Hela’s husband…”

“I’m sorry, sir.”

The polite smile on Tali’yao’s face nearly slipped. “I see. Sorry to disturb you, then.”

The receptionist breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Tali’er leave, but the moment she turned around, Tali’yao, who was supposed to be leaving, bolted toward the patient residential area.

“Sir, you cannot enter, sir…”

The receptionist chased after him for a few steps, frantically pressing the emergency button on her desk. “Security, send a few people up quickly! Someone is forcing their way into the patient residential area!”

Confirming the room number, Tali’yao stormed inside and slammed the door shut.

The window in the room was open, and sunlight poured in, falling perfectly on the woman quietly flipping through a physical book while leaning against the headboard.

Her long wine-red hair fell over her chest, bringing a touch of color to her pale face.

Hearing the noise at the door, the serene woman turned her head and met Tali’yao’s eyes.

“Hela…”

Tali’yao felt a moment of trance, unconsciously calling out her name.

Seeing Tali’yao, Hela immediately showed a look of joyful surprise. “Husband, you’ve finally come to see me and the baby?”

Hela had been tormented by depression, which triggered frequent outbreaks of Berserk Syndrome. The combination of both conditions constantly assaulted her nerves, resulting in her memories becoming chaotic. Currently, she was stuck in the few weeks before her depression broke out.

It was the time right after she had given birth to Tali’er.

She had forgotten Tali’yao’s betrayal, only remembering that she had given birth to an adorable baby and the happy times of their family of three.

Seeing Hela’s innocent and naive expression, Tali’yao’s face twisted for a second as malice rose in his heart once more.

Since Hela was hospitalized, he rarely came to see her. He didn’t want to look at this face anymore.

After gaining power, he immersed himself in the tender affections of his first love every day, barely sparing a thought for his actual legitimate wife.

Now, seeing this innocent face again only dragged up the unbearable memories of his past.

He hid the disgust in his eyes, deepened the smile on his lips, and presented the flowers with both hands.

“Hela, my wife, may you remain forever as beautiful as these flowers.”

Hela took the bouquet with delight.

“Thank you, Husband. I love them!”

Her fingers gently stroked the flowers, revealing a blissful smile.

The next second, the smile on her face froze.

“Hela, do you still remember what it felt like when you choked the baby’s neck? A baby’s bones must be very fragile, right? Just a gentle squeeze, and they would snap. What a pity, why did you let go at the end?”

Tali’yao still had a smile on his lips, but his eyes were completely apathetic. His words dripped with thick malice, like a cold, slimy viper, dragging her bit by bit into the damp, filthy mud.

Hela’s consciousness seemed to snap back to that afternoon.

Her father had finally compromised after her relentless persistence.

She got her wish and married the man she loved the most, bearing the crystalization of their love.

At that moment, she was happy!

However, the appearance of a mother and child completely shattered her dream of happiness.

She stood at the door with her heavily pregnant belly, looking at the child whose face strongly resembled her beloved’s. She listened to that woman describe her intimate moments with the man she loved.

Her happiness began to crack.

Her vision went black, and looking down, she saw the glaringly crimson blood seeping from between her legs.

Heart-wrenching pain tore through her abdomen.

The baby who was supposed to be born into a happy family, who was supposed to be the eldest child and the only treasure, was slapped with the title of “second child” and forced to live under the same roof as the mistress’s kid.

Looking at the baby’s tender, tiny face, listening to his occasional sleep-talk, she felt as if she was being pulled back into a twisted, bizarre vortex.

A scream pierced the air.

She finally woke up, seeing her father and relatives rushing toward her from the door.

She looked down and saw her own hands tightly gripping the baby’s neck. The smooth monitor reflected her hideous, terrifying face…

Two trails of clear tears streamed down Hela’s face.

“Baby, Mommy is sorry.”

Hearing voices coming from outside, Tali’yao quickly tied the pink drug vial to a robotic bug and kicked it under the bed.

Having done all this, he prepared to slip away.

Hela, trapped in her nightmare, suddenly snapped awake and lunged at Tali’yao with a ferocious expression.

“Tali’yao, you deserve to die! I’m going to kill you!”

Beast markings surfaced on Hela’s face, feathers grew out, and her fingers turned into sharp, elongated claws as she viciously swiped at Tali’yao’s neck.

Tali’yao never expected Hela to suddenly go berserk. Caught off guard and unable to dodge in time, his neck was slashed with several deep claw marks.

Through the pain, he grew ruthless. Baring his venomous fangs, he turned and bit down on the webbing between Hela’s thumb and index finger. The black venom spread rapidly up her veins toward her neck.

“Die together… I’m sorry, baby… choke him to death… no… don’t… I am a bad mother…”

Affected by the venom, Hela lost her reason, speaking incoherently.

The temperature in the room skyrocketed as raging flames ignited.

Taking advantage of the fire, Tali’er shifted into his snake form, focused his bloodline energy into his tail, smashed the door open, and rushed out.

Seeing Tali’yao flee, Hela’s eyes burned crimson as she chased after him.

“You deserve to die! You deserve to die!! YOU DESERVE TO DIE!!!”

Wine-red feathers sprouted all over Hela’s body, then fell off piece by piece. Dense red lumps grew from the roots, with sparse feathers jutting out between the fleshy lumps. Foul, purulent liquid oozed from her body. Black mist, resembling twisting black vipers, coiled around her, warping the surrounding space.

She was going berserk.

Turning into a monster.

“Ahhhhh—”

She completely lost her mind, reducing to a beast driven purely by slaughter.

Energy surged wildly, blasting toward the security and medical staff rushing over.

Gasps of terror echoed from the deepest part of the corridor.

Tali’er screamed at the massive flamingo monster.

“Mom!”

Hearing his mother’s agonizing screams from the room earlier, Tali’er’s emotions had instantly spiraled out of control. Beast markings surfaced on his face, feathers covered his body, and coated in crimson flames, he launched himself recklessly at Tali’yao.

Bang!

His claws, engulfed in high-temperature flames, blinded one of Tali’yao’s eyes. Half of the man’s handsome face was blistered and scalded, turning him into a hideous demon.

Tali’yao let out a miserable scream. With his one remaining eye, he shot a venomous glare at Tali’er, before hastily squeezing through the crowd to the window and leaping out.

Tali’er didn’t care about the fleeing Tali’yao; he sprinted into the room.

“Mom!”

However, the irrational Hela could no longer hear her son’s cries.

More and more fleshy lumps appeared on the flamingo, bursting like erupting volcanoes.

The scalding liquid splattered onto objects, sizzling and melting everything it touched.

The security guards at the front got sprayed right in the face, collapsing to the floor in agonizing screams.

Seeing this, the guards behind them didn’t dare advance and had no choice but to retreat.

“Ms. Hela’s bloodline has erupted, quickly contact the security forces!”

As the medical staff retreated, Tali’er pushed against the crowd, calling out to his mother over and over again.

Shen Zejue signaled the Shen family guards behind him to chase after Tali’yao. The rest of the guards maintained order, securing the entrances and exits of the top floor and keeping the medical staff away.

Carrying Bingbing, he entered the room.

The moment Shen Lin entered, he felt an aura of chaos, brutality, and a thirst for slaughter.

He patted his third brother’s shoulder, signaling him to put him down.

Shen Zejue looked at the room, charred black by the scorching flames. The berserk, out-of-control flamingo was trying to squeeze out of the window. The immense pressure caused the tumors on its body to burst, spraying scalding pus everywhere and burning large, uneven holes.

“Bingbing, why don’t we go back? What if it goes crazy and attacks you?”

“S’okay~”

Shen Lin patted his small chest, saying confidently, “I can cure her~”

Shen Zejue wanted to argue, but the cub manually silenced him.

A chubby little hand clamped over Shen Zejue’s mouth. “I’m very strong~”

It was rare to see Shen Lin so resolute. Knowing he couldn’t win, Shen Zejue reluctantly set him down.

Taking small steps, Shen Lin approached the flamingo monster.

Tali’er was once again blasted back by his mother’s power.

If his bloodline energy hadn’t shared the same origin as his mother’s, he would have suffered far more than just bruises; he might have created a hole in the wall just like the acid.

Just as he was blown away by his mother’s energy and was about to smash into the wall, a pink ribbon of light caught him.

Tali’er looked toward the source of the ribbon.

There stood a tiny figure.

Small, yet providing an immense sense of security.

“Bingbing?”

Once Tali’er was steady, Shen Lin whipped the ribbon of light toward the flamingo.

It trailed up the bird’s leg, wrapping around a bulging, pulsating tumor just as it was about to erupt.

The ribbon transformed into a thick needle, popping the blister, squeezing out the infected blood, swiftly bandaging it, and then phasing directly into the bird’s body.

Shen Lin linked with Hela’s consciousness sea. Her world was utter chaos.

Standing on the edge, Shen Lin watched the black pollution wrap around itself, growing larger like a ball of yarn. Pulling a single thread revealed countless tangled, complex, and incomprehensible emotions. They tried to interfere with Shen Lin’s consciousness and corrupt him.

The ribbon of light immediately assumed a defensive posture, acting like a loyal hound protecting its pup.

Seeing the ribbon of light, the black pollutants reacted like they’d seen their natural enemy, shrinking back abruptly and not daring to act up.

Shen Lin rubbed his chubby little chin, thinking fast on how to handle this massive ball of black yarn.

In the next second, his large, dark eyes sparkled.

The pink ribbon transformed into a giant pair of scissors. Snip, snip, snip. The tangled yarn was cut into pieces.

A giant broom materialized, sweeping the yarn into a pile.

The ribbons gathered together, forming a circular washing drum.

The collected yarn was dumped into the drum.

The machine started up, making the sound of rushing water. The pollutants clinging to the yarn were stripped away bit by bit, revealing the yarn’s original color.

Shen Lin crouched down and picked up the last piece of trash.

A blue bay, babbling brooks, and a wine-red flamingo flapping its wings. It let out a resonant cry, revealing its elegant, beautiful neck as it danced gracefully in the water.

It was an incredibly stunning flamingo.

“Thank you!”

Before disconnecting, Shen Lin heard the flamingo speak in a human voice, expressing its gratitude.

“You’re welcome~”

Before leaving, Shen Lin also replied sweetly.

——

The horrific tumors faded away, and pale red down feathers began to sprout on the flamingo, gradually covering its entire body until beautiful feathers replaced the very last lump.

Shedding its terrifying monster appearance, it revealed its true, beautiful form.

The wine-red flamingo folded its wings and lay quietly in the corner, tucking its head into its feathers without a sound.

Tali’er rushed over to check on his mother. Finding that she had merely fallen asleep, he let out a long sigh of relief.

He looked at Shen Lin with eyes full of boundless gratitude.

“Bingbing, thank you.”

Shen Lin was about to say “you’re welcome” when he caught sight of pink mist seeping out from under the bed out of the corner of his eye. A wave of familiarity washed over him. Without a second thought, he turned his energy into a ribbon of light, wrapped it around the flamingo, and flung it out the door.

At the same time, he yelled to Shen Zejue and Tali’er: “Run!”
