Chapter 90: Baby, Your Heart is Truly Ruthless
Wen Yuhuai looked at the girls huddling in the corner, trembling. “You guys leave first.”
They fled like they were receiving a royal pardon, grabbing their bags and money and rushing out. One of them, either out of panic or some other reason, accidentally bumped into Fu Xingjian. Fu Xingjianâs expression soured visibly, but he ultimately didn’t lash out.
Until the heavy doors were closed, no second person entered.
Noticing Wen Yuhuaiâs questioning gaze, Fu Xingjian said unhurriedly, “Don’t worry. How could I bring anyone else to see you?”
His gaze fell back on Song Xingmian. “Make him leave too. I don’t want our time alone to be disturbed by an outsider.”
Before Wen Yuhuai could speak, Song Xingmian exploded. “By what right are you telling me to leave? I won’t! Brother asked to see me today. Youâre the uninvited guest; youâre the one who should scram!”
Fu Xingjian only let out a contemptuous curl of his lips. “Not leaving? Fine. Iâll give the Song family a call in a bit. I doubt they know their little young master snuck back from abroad all by himself…”
Song Xingmianâs eyes were filled with dense red capillaries from rage. He stood up abruptly and grabbed an unopened bottle of liquor from the table, looking like he was about to smash it over Fu Xingjianâs head.
Wen Yuhuaiâs eyelids jumped. He couldn’t help but speak to stop him. “You go out first.”
Song Xingmianâs eyes turned red againâwho knows how many times it had been tonight.
Wen Yuhuai felt helpless. He didn’t want to make the kid cry, but since he couldn’t coax him normally, he had to try another way.
He massaged his temples. When he spoke again, his tone was softer, carrying a hint of coaxing. “I have something to discuss with him. You go back and rest, or go downstairs to a booth and play for a while. Iâll call you when weâre finished.”
They were in a second-floor private room; the first floor was much livelier.
Only then did Song Xingmian finally put down the bottle. He gave Fu Xingjian a wary look and left, looking back every three steps.
In an instant, only the two of them remained in the large room.
Wen Yuhuai slowly retracted his expression. He squinted at Fu Xingjian, who was standing against the light. “You really didn’t bring anyone? So confident? Aren’t you afraid Iâve set a trap for you here?”
Fu Xingjian had already reached him. He looked down at Yuhuai, the possessiveness in his eyes so thick it couldn’t be hidden.
He asked in return, “What trap would you set for me?”
Wen Yuhuai twitched the corner of his mouth. “The kind of trap that sends you back to the police station for a chat.”
Fu Xingjian wasn’t afraid in the slightest. He sat down beside Yuhuai with a natural air and even poured himself a glass of wine, speaking with a drawl. “So formidable? Iâm quite scared.”
Wen Yuhuai had no patience left for pleasantries. He looked down at his phone, his voice turning cold. “Itâs not too late for you to leave now.”
Fu Xingjian leaned back leisurely. “You went to such lengths to lure me out. Would you really be willing to let me go just like that?”
Wen Yuhuaiâs thick eyelashes slowly lifted, revealing pupils devoid of any emotion. “What I mean is for you to scram out of Haishi, get back to your Beijing, and never appear before me again.”
Fu Xingjian took a sip of wine. He casually crossed his hands as if he couldn’t understand human speech. “Are you coming back with me?”
Wen Yuhuai let out a cold sneer, eyeing him with chilling indifference.
Fu Xingjian took another sip. Whether it was because the wine was too strong or because his emotions were peaking, an unnatural flush appeared on his face.
“Beijing is your hometown too. Youâve lived there for so many years. Thereâs no need to live in exile just to avoid me. As I said, as long as youâre willing to go back, as long as you still consider it home, you can go wherever you want. I wonât restrain you.”
Wen Yuhuai interrupted him without any emotion. “Are you done?”
Fu Xingjian licked his lips, unsatisfied. “No.”
Wen Yuhuai expressionlessly picked up his phone and dialed 110 right in front of him. Taking advantage of the moment before the call connected, he shot Fu Xingjian a glance.
“Iâve had enough. Really. Iâve never seen anyone as persistent as you. If you canât win love, you resort to this stalking routine. Don’t you find it undignified? Whatever else you have to say, say it to the police.”
With that, he hit the call button without hesitation. After two rings, the call was picked up.
“Hello, Haishi 110 Command Center. How can we help you?”
Wen Yuhuai smiled at Fu Xingjianâa very gentle smile. “Officer, Iâd like to report a crime. Aurora VIP Room 201. Someone is using drugs.”
…
The call ended. Wen Yuhuai sat back, relaxed, looking at Fu Xingjian whose face had turned cold. “I told you to leave, but you insisted on staying. Then go have tea at the station for another couple of days.”
Fu Xingjian picked up the glass before him and looked at it, seeing nothing out of the ordinary, so he put it back on the table. He pressed a hand to his temple, where veins were throbbing with unnatural excitement. He leaned back as if accepting his fate. “Baby, your heart is truly ruthless.”
The smile on Wen Yuhuaiâs lips vanished. Naturally, he didn’t want to use such a dirty trick, but this man had pushed him too far. This was the simplest and fastest way.
The police arrived quickly. Not knowing who had made the report, they split into two groups to take both of them down. To their surprise, Fu Xingjian surrendered voluntarily. “Officer, no need to grab him. Iâm the one using.”
After saying that, he pulled a small bag of white-powder-like substance from his coat pocket and shook it casually.
Seeing the expressions of both Wen Yuhuai and the police change drastically, he tilted his head and actually managed a smile.
“Why so surprised? Didn’t expect me to surrender?”
“Alright, the evidence is all here. Arrest me. It has nothing to do with him; heâs the one who reported it.”
Fu Xingjian spoke while cooperatively extending his hands. The police looked at him with suspicion and uncertainty but eventually cuffed him.
Inside, Wen Yuhuaiâs heart was in a state of turmoil.
That bag of white powder… the girls had slipped it into his pocket when they bumped into him on the way out.
He knew. He knew all along…
Fu Xingjian was also looking down at him, a fragmented smile in his eyes.
Yes, why? It was all just to make him happy.
Yuhuai wanted to see him fall into his hands? Then heâd let him have his way and fall once.
Just this once. Once he came back out, it would be the day they returned to Beijing together.
