The Straight Heartthrob: Ruthlessly Forced by a Madman Chapter 98

Chapter 98: I Don’t Want to Be Your Little Brother Anymore

Wen Yuhuai completely froze. The curve at the corners of his mouth, which was about to lift, stuck there in a comical, frozen state. He looked at Wen Chenglin with a strange expression. “Me? Engagement? With whom?”

Wen Chenglin gave a wave of his hand. “If you have a girl you like, just bring her here. Our family doesn’t care about social status; as long as her background is clean”.

Seeing no reaction from Wen Yuhuai, he leisurely took a sip of tea and continued, “If you don’t have one, don’t worry. Several of my friends have daughters around your age. I’ll organize a gathering another day so you can meet. You’re all the same age; you should have common topics to talk about. Take the opportunity and chat well”.

Wen Yuhuai refused without a second thought. “Don’t. I’m not interested in those things right now, and I don’t plan on staying in Shenzhen for long. Once I get my documents replaced, I’m leaving. Don’t start this”.

Jiang Jing’s gaze was filled with worry. “Where are you going? Your birthday is coming up soon. Wait until after your birthday to leave”.

Wen Yuhuai was stunned for a second. If Jiang Jing hadn’t mentioned it, he would have almost forgotten that his birthday was less than a month away.

“I haven’t thought about where to go. Just traveling around to clear my head. Fine, I’ll listen to you and wait until after my birthday”.

Jiang Jing was immediately delighted, not even bothering to hide it in front of Wen Yuhuai. “Old Wen, reach out to your brothers and have them hold a party for Xiao Huai’s birthday. Tell them to make sure their daughters come”.

Wen Yuhuai: “…”

Watching them arrange his life in just a few sentences, Wen Yuhuai stood up to leave. “If you keep this up, I’m leaving tomorrow”.

Jiang Jing wasn’t afraid of him leaving, saying leisurely, “Leave if you want, just remember to come back for your birthday”.

Wen Yuhuai simply shut the study door behind him.

After stepping out, Wen Yuhuai sat in the living room for a while with a headache. He truly hadn’t expected this development, but when Wen Chenglin asked if he had someone he liked, the first person that popped into his head was the female lead, Xia Muning.

However, he wasn’t sure if it was because he had experienced too much recently, but when he thought of the female lead again, there was no ripple in his heart.

The initial amazement and attraction were gone; even though it hadn’t been that long, his heart was like a pool of stagnant water that could no longer be stirred.

Wen Yuhuai’s hand, which had just picked up a teacup, set it back down. He stared blankly at the clear tea, his expression unreadable.

They had messed him up so much that he seemed to no longer be interested in women either.

A bunch of bastards.

Wen Yuhuai sat in the living room for a good while before heading upstairs. The master bedroom on the second floor was his room; it wasn’t hard to find, so he didn’t have Auntie Chen lead the way.

The door wasn’t closed, just pushed slightly ajar. From the crack in the door, he could see that the lights weren’t on. Wen Yuhuai pushed the door and walked in, reaching out to feel for the switch. He didn’t find the switch and even tripped over something.

Wen Yuhuai paused where he stood, realizing there might be someone else in the room. He thought he had entered the wrong room and turned back to feel for the door handle.

Before he could find it, a pair of arms suddenly reached out from the side, pulling him into a full embrace. A foot gave a soft kick, shutting the door and pressing him against the door panel.

Wen Yuhuai’s brow furrowed. He drove an elbow straight into the person in front of him and heard a familiar muffled groan.

“Song Xingmian”.

“Gege guessed it so quickly”.

With a soft click, the light switch was flipped on, and the dim room was suddenly flooded with brightness. Wen Yuhuai’s eyes couldn’t handle the sudden light and squinted uncontrollably. He looked at the person blocking him. “Let go”.

Song Xingmian didn’t let go; his embrace grew even tighter as he acted spoiled with practiced ease. “Let me hold you for a bit, Gege”.

Wen Yuhuai struggled. “Did I enter the wrong room? Is this your room?”

Song Xingmian shook his head, his head resting on Wen Yuhuai’s shoulder as he sniffed at his neck. “No, I just wanted to give Gege a surprise”.

Being pressed against the door for so long, Wen Yuhuai was getting annoyed. “If it’s not your room, get out. How much longer are you going to keep me pinned here?”

Song Xingmian was afraid of making him angry and finally let go reluctantly, though he didn’t leave. Instead, he pulled over a chair and sat down as if he owned the place.

“How long does Gege plan to stay here?”

Wen Yuhuai also pulled over a chair and sat opposite him, answering with a question of his own. “Why? Are you bored?”

“If you’re bored, leave first. I’m staying here for a while”.

Song Xingmian had finally found an excuse to stay by his side; naturally, he wouldn’t leave. “I’m not bored. I’m just curious about what you talked about with Uncle and Auntie”.

Wen Yuhuai gave him a look full of hidden meaning. He knew this kid’s intentions were impure. The reason he allowed him to stay beside him was that he was young and relatively harmless compared to the others—and also more likely to be set straight.

“We talked about my marriage,” he said deliberately.

As expected, Song Xingmian’s face changed instantly, and his voice became urgent. “Gege is getting married?”

Wen Yuhuai’s knuckles tapped rhythmically against the armrest of the chair. “It’s still in the early stages, but it should be soon”.

He finished speaking and glanced at Song Xingmian, saying on purpose, “You aren’t happy, are you? If you aren’t happy, then put away those thoughts you shouldn’t have. Isn’t it better to be friends? You call me Gege, and would I not look out for you? Why do you insist on those messy things…”

Song Xingmian kept his eyes downcast, his long eyelashes obscuring the expression in his eyes. Wen Yuhuai hadn’t expected to convince him with just these few words and stood up to find his pajamas in the wardrobe, thinking he would take a shower.

But before he could pull his pajamas out, he heard another soft click, and his vision was plunged into darkness.

Song Xingmian had turned off the light again.

Being deliberately deprived of his vision again and again, Wen Yuhuai was truly annoyed and spoke coldly, “Turn the light on”.

No one spoke, and no one turned the light on. Instead, the sound of approaching footsteps echoed in his ears.

Knowing it was Song Xingmian, Wen Yuhuai wasn’t afraid. He merely gave a cold scoff. “You’ve grown bold, haven’t you? Daring to play with me now”.

Song Xingmian still didn’t speak, but he walked with clear purpose until he was in front of him. He reached out and gently cupped his chin. He no longer stole a kiss while Wen Yuhuai was unconscious; instead, he kissed him openly while he was awake.

“Gege, I don’t want to be your little brother anymore”.
